The prices were similar. I chose National Concrete based upon Brian La Fuente and his honest and straight forward approach. The project consisted of demo an existing wood fence and build a 219 linear feet cinder block wall with Orco split face blocks. The National Concrete team for my project was 3 highly skilled and very efficient craftsmen. I was amazed at the fast pace of the work for only three guys. They did not take short cuts. The crew worked straight through on the job. In the end it took four weeks to complete the fence including all city inspections. I think the work quality was top notch. We got a good vibe from Juan and also went and talked to two owners that RMZ did work for and they both had nothing but good things to say about their work. What impressed us the most was their solution to a pour they did on our side yard. There were two small AC units from a recently completed ADU sitting on plastic platforms that were sitting on grass/dirt. We wanted a concrete pad to replace the grass. All the contactors said they could place forms around the AC units and pour around them. We expressed our concerns about the look and viability of leaving the units sitting on the plastic platforms and dirt. The other contractors said all they could do is frame and pour around them or we could have an electrician come and move them for the pour and then have the put back after the pour. Sounded expensive. Juan and his crew came up with an great plan to suspend the units and pour the concrete under them. Problem solved! We loved that they heard our concerns and came up with a solution. Also the work on the driveway was quick, clean and came out great.
