When faced with the task of turning a backyard full of dirt into something we could love, my husband and I did an insane amount of research on every landscaper in Reno. We knew we wanted pavers, but we didn't have a great idea of how we wanted it to look, how much it should cost, etc, etc. I scheduled 4 or 5 estimates. Bill Porter was the first to come out. We talked about design, and he asked what our budget was. We gave him a number that we picked out of the air. As this was all new to us, we didn't really know how much we needed to spend to get what we wanted - plus, we don't have an unlimited amount of money! Bill came back with an estimate about double the number that we told him. In the meantime, we had several more people come out and send estimates, and realized that our original budget was too low, as everyone was coming in over our number. One estimate was THREE TIMES Bill's estimate!!! Craziness! Also in the meantime, my husband and I went to a Home Show at the Convention Center. We asked around at the home show (other landscapers, paver dealers, etc.), and they all RAVED about Pavers by Porter. They said his work was amazing, and "if you can get him, get him!" So, we called him back and asked him to come out again. We told him that we wanted him, but that we just couldn't afford his original quote and we wanted to work with the design to bring the number down. He was SO helpful and cooperative, and after a couple of days, he sent a new design and a new estimate. HIRED! The very next week (we lucked out with his schedule!), he and his crew came out and my husband and I witnessed the most efficient work I could imagine. They were finished in three days! The work is perfection. The had levels out ensuring it was completely level (except where it needed a little slope for drainage), and they strung string across the backyard to ensure that the pavers all stayed on the same line and didn't end up off their perpendicular angles from one side to the other. Once the pavers were all set, Bill came by and examined the color flow. If there were too many dark pavers in a cluster, he would pull one out and replace it with a lighter one and vice versa to make sure the color pattern was consistent. The end result exceeded all of our expectations. I would highly recommend Pavers by Porter for any paver work you have. read more

WOW! WHERES THE FOLLOW UP!!! I had my front and backyard done. We were very pleased. After a couple years we had some NORMAL erosion. Called Matt out to have a look! I asked him to send out a couple guys to fix the base and a couple of the tiles. I would obviously pay for time and materials. Just wanted to keep my backyard looking good. That was 4 months ago. I call each month, no call back now. I'm sure all new projects get calls back. If it were my company, I'd want satisfied new and old customers....! REALLY!!!! read more

So Pavers by Porter just finished my backyard patio about an hour ago. I am so impressed I had to make sure to leave a great yelp review. Bill Porter spent a ton of time with us in our backyard (both before and during the project) planning everything out, drawing, redrawing lines. He listened to us and gave us recommendations and ideas but didn't push anything. He had about 8 guys working on our patio and they finished it in just over two days - I am amazed! When we had our patio done back in CT, only one guy worked on it and it took forever. I am really impressed with the level of professionalism. Everything was on time, clearly laid out in the contract (we had been burned before on this), and the patio came out exactly as we requested. They even brought a portable restroom - everything was taken completely off our hands. They finished the job and left without a trace - except they did us a favor and left a few extra paver stones so we could add stepping stones, place potted plants, etc. I am truly pleased with not only the finished patio but at how EASY they made everything for us.
