Nice little diner inside the bowling alley at RH Johnson rec center in Sun City West. New ownership new menu. Been there a couple times and so far everything is pretty good. The only thing that I will say is that sometimes service can be a little slow, but that's OK. It's not that bad. however The last couple times I've been in there was like the Lord of the flies. Not sure why, but there were a lot of flies. Don't forget to get a cinnamon roll.

Very mediocre, service was good, food not so much. We tried the chili dog and chicken fried steak. Completely forgettable.

The ambiance is delightful! Artists' works are on display (purchasable) as well as a lovely, ever changing area with food, books, and imaginative gift items for sale. Betty runs an awesome Cafe, & always has a smile on her face . The servers are so warm and caring. They add to the enjoyment of my meal with their good hearts and enthusiastic humor. It's like they are all sisters and the fun-filled banter makes me feel like I'm HOME! Oh, I must say that the coffee is incredible...hot, tasty, and with refills too! I have my favorite server, but you need to meet them all. They are all great. Eat at Betty's Rooste; you will not be disappointed‼

Be aware, it's inside a Del Webb hospital . . . hence the older crowd. I've attached a photo so you know what you are looking for when you pull into the parking lot. We were looking for something completely different almost missing it and you may too. So, check out the photo of the outside. In any case, the food was great and the wait staff even better. All the wait staff are older women and our waitress in particular was awesome . . . funny, informative about menu items and helpful with recommendations, plus attentive. Had the Cuban sandwich with potato salad side. The Cuban is made with sourdough bread which is kinda unique. The potato salad delicious. The Hummingbird Cake was better than good! We'll definitely be back!

The hostess, Carla was amazing handling takeout orders, waitlist and seating with a smile. Our server Susie was wonderful. She was attentive and navigating all the customers well. The food is delicious. However, my onions were NOT grilled as requested with scrambled eggs and cheese so I sent it back. I never do. I know not to order that in the future. Hubby ordered an omelette with pancakes. It wasn't hot so he asked them to microwave the plate. After that Steve appeared to see if everything was okay. It was fine but not fine because I didn't get what I wanted. Will 4 stars for the service, tasty good and clean restroom. When it's super busy, stick to the printed menu. :-)

To: Corporate Leadership,…read more On June 4th, I ordered a biscuit sandwich with no cheese (highly allergic) to go, from your location in Glendale, AZ. I got my order without checking it, and drove to my office in Surprise. When I sat down at my desk and opened my order the sandwich had cheese on it. Obviously, I was upset, but no worries there was another Biscuit Cafe located here in Surprise about 8 minutes away. So, I got back in my car with a completely uneaten in tact order and went to the location here in Surprise. I spoke with the host about what had happened and she proceeded to go get the manager. The manager informed me that they would not re-make my sandwich, citing that they would be providing uncompensated product. I asked her if she was serious about her position? I work in Corporate Finance, and I could not believe that her position was to not make right an order over what ultimately is very little in food cost. My sandwich was about $15 with tax, so removing tax and your margin out of the equation, this was not a serious financial inconvenience for your organization. Truth be told it's not that significant of a financial inconvenience to me either, it was more of the principle. Any customer facing organization understands the power of negative reviews as an impact to marketing and having bad reviews etc. over a sandwich that probably cost you between $4 and $8 including labor cost is not smart management, and you should definitely take a look at the decisions this particular manager at that location is exercising.

The dining area was not busy with just 3-4 tables occupied and a few people at the barstools. I was seated quickly by a hostess and given two menus while waiting for my friend to arrive. Menu: it's about the size of a Sears Catalog (exaggeration but about 8+ pages front and back) and appears to serve food approved by the United Nations (food from different parts of the world). This is the type of menu Gordon Ramsey would go crazy over and shred to pieces. Portions are not larger than before but prices increased considerably! Food: I ordered a Veggie Omelette with Spinach added and Whole Wheat Toast, decaf coffee, and water. My friend ordered an all-meat skillet, sourdough toast, coffee, and water. The omelette/skillet was overcooked and dry. My friend sent back his toast because it was served with a MOLD SPOT on it. Our server was not swayed by the mold and replaced it. No apologies or contact from the managers. By this point, we just didn't want to finish what we ordered and left. Dining room is well lit and spacious. Lots of available seating but could not help that their "Grand Opening" sign has been hanging outside for WEEKS. Servers are slow and never seem to be pleasant (more melancholy). Overheard one server speaking with some guests at a table using profanity. This review was based on my individual experience. This used to be our favorite breakfast spot but clearly is no longer the case. Having watched the gradual decline in quality and service, I am no longer inspired to spend my money at AZ Diner.
