Props to having a Bingsu or Korean Ice dessert and drink shop in Surprise! I was so expectant and hopeful! We ordered 1 Mango and and 1 Ube Bingsu. Pros: Love the consistency of the finely shaved ice. The flavors: mango and Ube were spot on. Flavorful and colorful topics. Loved The Kpop music and the colorful decor. Cons: they were light on the toppings. The ice was water flavored in the middle. It didn't look like the luscious pictures on the board menu. It was not sweet enough. I might give it one more try but the next time, I will check the toppings and ask for more syrup if I was delivered this product again. Customer service was meh. Sumo is always representing. Customer service is always on point! Smiles on the faces and ready to help and serve. I ordered the Vietnamese Horchata and my son got the Thai tea with Boba. They are both made excellent and my drink is literally a vacation in a cup. My son said his Thai tea is better than any restaurant he's ever been to. The music was super catchy inside, not too loud! I've been here many times and this place has been here for years but this is my first time making a review. This place is good for what it is. It's the first decent boba shop in Surprise, AZ. They offer many different kinds of drinks, elotes, Korean corn dog, desserts, and now Korean shaved ice (Bingsu). The store is pretty small but it feels cozy. They have some seating and you can play board games as well. You can order at the kiosk or at the cash register. The menu is big screen tv. We got the matcha latte ($6.50) and the mango Bingsu ($8.50). The drink came out first and it was pretty quick. The matcha latte didn't have a strong matcha flavor and it tasted watered down. Then shortly after we got the Bingsu. The Bingsu looked pretty and had mango syrup and mochi inside. However, it was too much whip cream. The Bingsu was okay. I think the snow itself was kinda thick and wish it was a little thinner. I'm actually giving this place a 4/5 only because they offer a lot of different variety and this is the only place that has that boba shop feeling in this city. There is nothing else that competes with Sumo Snow and the portions of the cups are huge for what you pay for. read more

There are 5 Fast Service Asian vendors. Our drink, Flaming Dragon Slushie (mango lemonade & dragon fruit) was refreshing with the right balance of sweet & tartness - we added boba (additional charge) for a nice texture. So many choices!! Walked in to be greeted by a sweet young lady that walked us through the ordering process. It was our first time in Sumo Snow so we welcomed her guidance. At first glance, the establishment is well lit and spotlessly clean. The menu is up on the east wall and extensive. At first, we were the only customers inside but after we sat down to wait for our order, the place quickly filled up. After we got our food & beverages, we realized why this is a happening spot! Fo food we ordered the Hazelnut Chocolate cake & Pistachio Ricotta cake. The drinks; Hokkaido Milk Tea, Taro Milk Tea & a Coconut Smoothie. All were delish except my favorite was not the Pistachio Cake. Just not my taste but my husband enjoyed it so basically it's a preference thing. They have so many options like most boba places. My drink was Vietnamese coffee. It was the best I had in the area. I thought it was odd that the girl at the counter was sitting down on her phone. I guess that's normal since they had a kiosk where you just placed your order. It would've been nice to have some help on using it. The drinks are oversized which made it weird to drive. Excellent customer service, every time I go here I see a different cashier and they've all been very friendly. Their drinks are great value, very unique flavors at a good price. My only critique is I think their food items are a bit overpriced - I would probably skip the cakes and ice cream and just go for the drinks. I've been eyeing this cute dessert shop and finally made it in for my first ever Korean Corn Dog! I have no regrets- my Potato Beef Dog was amazinggggg! These dogs are savory and sweet with a crisp shell of delicious cornmeal batter studded with French fry chunks and sprinkled with sugar. The flavor of the beef dog is very good too. This was such a good treat. I also got an Oat Dragonfruit Matcha that was so creamy and sweet with the matcha earthy and smooth. My kids wanted the Chipotle Beef Dog with hot sauce, the Horchata Frappe, and the Flaming Dragon Slushee. I took my food to go but there is a picture window bar seating area and tables and chairs inside and outside the shop. There are also restrooms. I loved their collection of cute Japanese make-at-home dessert boxes and Pocky sticks available for purchase as well. I'm so happy we're nearby. There are several more teas I need to try here. They are above average macaroons that are five dollars a box. They can be put in the fridge too, and snacked on all week. In this area of Surprise and surrounding it's nothing but a sea of suburbs and sunshine. There are no casinos maybe a park to walk the dog. With that being said the delivery services are used frequently here because of the fast paced process of the place. Unless your playing golf, which they deliver to the club houses if needed; it's the best way to boba in the area. This shop is truly busy busy. It's run perfectly professionally with great pride. Think we may have found our new Boba spot!! Being new residents in the desert, we have been trying to find some local spots to cure our cravings. Although disappointed, there wasn't any almond milk tea and you cannot order drinks without ice , there was still a huge variety of drinks and flavors to choose from. The fruit ice cream I had was the peach one and it was so good I ordered the other ones before I left. So soft yet with a crunch of the outer shell so so delicious. I had been wanting to try sumo snow for a while since I knew they had the Korean dogs. We took a 35 minute drive to try them out and unfortunately left without one. The interior is clean and modern and the employees were really friendly. I decided on a Taro milk tea and the hubs got a summer melon slushy. The kids wanted to try the matcha cake and crepe cake so we got one of each. The total was $20 and change. On par with other boba drink concept places. The wait wasn't long and we were on our way home. They do have a rewards program which is cool as well for frequent customers. Now, the drinks were big and tasted good. Nothing out of this world but they were tasty. Now the matcha cake roll I had never had before but didn't care for. The kids and I didn't like the strong matcha flavor. It was just overpowering even with the condensed milk. The crepe cake didn't taste fresh and didn't wow us either. I wish we had the chance to try the Korean dogs but they were out and said they should be getting more the next day. Overall, the shop was clean, employees were friendly and helpful but don't think I will drive out of my way again to try Sumo as we just we're not impressed. read more

I'm so happy that there is a place that serves boba and Korean corndogs in the North side of Phoenix now. Whenever I crave a Korean corndog I will drive here and it always hits the spot! They have a very large menu and many different options! I always order their Jasmine Cream Milk Tea with boba and their Spicy Mozzarella Dog.
