I have been eating lunch at pavilion for 5 years now, easily 500 times. If you look below you see random bad reviews. Do not pay attention to them. I have had every special they offer numerous times. They have unique versions of common dishes. For example they have beef tips and rice with tomatoes in it. I know, it sounds strange but it taste fantastic. That's just an example of their unique take on common foods. I can count on my hand how many bad experiences I've had out of hundreds of meals there. As you can see I highly recommend Pavilion. It has been more then 30 years since we have eaten at the Pavilion. I sorry to say it was a big disappointment. The sauce was was an off orange color not the rich red color of a good Italian sauce. Any flavor it might have had was over whelmed by pepper. The pasta was not al-dent but over cooked soft almost mushy. I had the pork tenderloin in Greek spices. My Husband has been eating at this restaurant for about 25 yrs. an the last 3 times we have had to deal with employees using fowl language without a care in the world who is in range to hear it.. We spoke with the lady who checks you out the first time an she said she would speak to management. But undoubtedly it doesn't matter to them. An toe also got to hear that one of there employees is fixing to have a colonoscopy with all the details included along with her having to be on a stricken diet for the next five days.. I probably won't return. As appetizers we ordered mini crab cakes and fried mushrooms. They both came out still cold in the middle. When we told our server she offered to microwave them! After requesting for a fresh, warm order (not microwaved) we did receive it and they were good. The salad that came with the meal was shredded lettuce, two cherry tomatoes, and one slice of cucumber which was disappointing. The balsamic dressing was very delicious though. I ordered the Greek chicken with mashed potatoes. The chicken was good but I'd pass on the mashed potatoes, they did not taste homemade. The woman at the checkout was so nice and made cashing out a pleasure. Lastly I think the servers need training on teamwork. We asked a gentleman for a refill but rather than just getting it for us he searched for our server, told her, and she didn't get to our table for another five minutes. He could have just got the refill! Servers should work together. It is not always your table, your problem. Again, I will most likely not return. read more

My family has been frequenting The Pavilion as long as they've been open! We are 4 generations worth! Some of my favorite menu items are their salads and housemade italian dressing~so good you might want to drink it. Ha! Chicken Teriyaki is fabulous. Just the other day I had their tomato basil soup for the first time, and found it to be in my top five best tomato soups. The cashier is so sweet to my grandson! I came for a takeout one day and she remembered him and sent a pack of gummies home for him! He won't forget that and neither will he. We love our Pavilion family. read more

Throughout my life, the Pavilion has ALWAYS been a big part of it. I'm 32 now, and literally have been coming my entire life... hell, even before I was born, my parents came here. I've had friends work there, and they always said they were treated fairly. As for the food--it is terrific. It would also make a great place for a romantic date, imo. The strength of the Pavilion, imo, is that it has always been family run and operated. The place has honestly been a staple in my life, and I can't imagine not going to the pavilion. The food has always been delicious, and YOU'VE GOT TO TRY THE SALAD W/ THEIR HOMEMADE THOUSAND ISLAND DRESSING! Pavilion is the best restaurant. I was raised going there. It was my grandmas favorite restaurant to go. They have homemade ranch and desserts. Their cheesecake is to die for!!! In years past, we ate at this restaurant on many occasions. Way Back then, it was always a good value for the price. The Decor has remained the same relaxed dated atmosphere but the food is still very good. The salad is fairly plain but it's really good when you add one of many homemade dressings. I tried the prime rib for the first time and it was great with spaghetti as my side. My wife had the Spaghetti Ravicotta (with chicken). Wow was that tastey. Japonica was our waitress and she gave us her undivided attention, advising honestly on any question asked. She is one more reason we are definitely putting this restaurant back on our regular list. She even gave me a little sample of one of the sides she didn't highly recommend. (Braised Potatoes). She was right again. We also tried the cheesecake. It's not the traditional type you might expect, more of a whipped version but it was great, just different. I can't wait to come back again. read more

Had heard LOTS of people recommend this place (none that are close...i.e. I know their tastes). So I gave it a shot today for lunch (people recommended the spagetti). Ordered spagetti lunch special and when it arrived I told her I didn't order the childs portion! (it was the normal adult portion...but tiny!) Oh well, quality over quantity is fine with me BUT Noodles were barely holding together, I mean I like al dente and can tolerate "overcooked", however this was basically "glue noodles." I can easlily state "horrible"....worst italian food I have EVER had from here to Seattle. My buddy ordered "pork'obella" special...some chunks of pork with mushrooms and onions...he said it was dry. His side of peas were grey, but his cucumbers looked mostly ok. I give a thumbs up for the bleu cheese dressing and ice tea only. Otherwise, this place is a joke and cannot understand how they have survived so long other than it serves people with no taste very well. If you want GOOD food in this vein, try coloseum cafe or spring valley and even K@W does a HELL of a lot better than this dreck. read more

My wife and I are lifelong residents of Guilford County. We frequent many different restaurants, and, as many others, we each have our favorites. We generally dine at dinner/supper time. I generally have some type of Alfredo dish, however my wife is more adventurous. I find the Alfredo sauce to be lighter and more flavorful than the equivalent fare at other 'Italian' restaurants. The noodles are always al dente, and the chicken has always been cooked to perfection.. tender and juicy. II can't speak for my wife, however she rarely resorts to conversation during the meal whatever the dish! The atmosphere is more home spun than other big name (and often pretentious) establishments. Kind of reminds me of a favorite of many years ago in Norfolk named Papa D's. Service has always been prompt and friendly without the hovering at other restaurants. As older adults, my wife and I usually end up taking home as much as we eat. For us, this is a plus- cutting the cost nearly in half. The Alfredo sauce heats just fine in a warm oven. This benefit pretty much destroys the busybody nannies who have been trying to get restaurants to reduce their portion size. I can say that after 40 years of watching restaurants come and go, spending enormous amounts on advertising, that The Pavilion is my, and if my wife were to commit to such a superlative, hers as well- favorite restaurant. We are from out of town and spotted this restaurant on Yelp. Our waiter was very personable and efficient. My girlfriend asked him if he would order the Italian combo or the Greek combo plate. He told us that they were both equal but would eat the Greek combo plate. He explained to us what was on the plate. We both chose the Greek plate. When we received our meals we realized that we should have ordered one plate and shared it. There's so much food and it's delicious! We also received a salad and hot bread with our meal. Our waiter checked on us frequently and filled our glasses with tea and water without being asked. We got our desserts to go because we couldn't eat another bite. I also noticed an act of kindness that our waiter did. There was an elderly man with a walker who sat down in a booth. Our waiter folded it up and sat it on the other seat in the booth. When the gentleman wanted to leave, the waiter got the walker and positioned it where the man could reach it. He also asked the man if he needed any help up. This young man is an employee that anyone would be proud to have. We will definitely remember this place for the next time. read more

I've only been here twice but both times it was jumping.. apparently a local favorite in Greensboro . Basic family restaurant with a huge menu. They're known for their lasagna which is good but a little on the salty side. The last one that I had also was dry and could have used a side of marinara. Year after year the Pavilion continues to have the same consistent service and excellent dishes. Whether you are looking for classic Italian, or greek, or just a good hamburger. Their meat sauce is my favorite in the triad, and I have tried to replicate it for years. I only occasionally have the Greek dishes, because I am always torn between the lasagna, the meatball parmesan sub, or the marinated ribeye. One of my friends loves the chicken alfredo, but so as not to miss the meat sauce, she will get a side order of meatballs or italian sausage. I don't know why I've never gotten around to reviewing this place, I've knonw about it for 35 years, starting with their earlier restaurant in High Point, called Flamenco. This current one has been around for about 25 years, so that is some staying power for a restaurant. My in-laws come with us often on Saturday afternoon, and always try to arrive before 4 PM so they can be there when it opens and beat the rush. This is a wonderful Italian/Greek Restaurant. I have been trying to replicate their meat sauce at home for 30 years but can never quite hit it. My personal favorites are the Lasagne, the Meatball Parmesan Sub, or the Marinated Ribeye Steak. My in-laws ALWAYS get the Spaghetti Al Venice, a baked version with thin onions, green peppers, mushrooms and cheese covering the top. The greek chicken is very good also, but I have a hard time pulling away from the Lasagna. This is family run, and 3 generations of the family are working almost every weekend. We have aways had excellent service and they always welcome us back. I don't often get to try the deserts, but the cheesecake has been very good. I usually can't eat all my dinner and have to take a box home with us. Also love their salads, lettuce shredded very thin with wonderful homemade dressings. read more

We received a catered lunch. The pasta dishes were great but the cobbler both days was extremely undercooked so that it didn't really have a breading topping, but was more like soup. I cooked a cup of it in the microwave and it firmed right up which confirmed that the pan of it was far from done. After cooking it more it would be ok with some ice cream to cut the overly sweet taste. They need a new recipe. read more

First time I've ever been here not the best experience I've had. The food was really dry. I ordered a ribeye and it was mostly fat and gristle. It looked like the cheap steaks you buy at food lion. My mother ordered the marinated chicken and it was terribly dry and had no flavor to it whatsoever. It defiantly was not worth the money we spent on the food. read more
