I have been coming here for over 20 years. I have great memories of Vito's nights with family and friends some of whom are no longer with us. My friend and I said "let's go to Vito's." I had the Veal Parm. They give bread and a salad with the meal. It was delicious. Thank you, Sal and family.

I received great service when I went. The bread was perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The warm Italian sub was scrumptious with lots of filling. It was a good sized sub, and I couldn't finish the chips. There was plenty of seating. It was not too busy for a weekday night.

My bestie recently moved to my side of town so we selected Vito's as a inbetween place to meet up for our lunch break. Whether you come for lunch or dinner it seems it's the same menu these days. So no lunch portions or pricing, unless we missed the lunch hours. Each entree comes with a salad and bread with olive oil. I appreciate getting an included salad as I feel like that is something that has stopped at a lot of places with rising costs. But the salad it's self left a bit to be desired. I got it with Italian dressing and it was mostly just lettuce and olives. The bread also in my opinion was a bit hard, so I only had one piece. For entree, I decided to get the Tour of Italy. It has been some years since I was here so thought this was be a good sampling of the classics. This trio includes a portion of Fettuccini Alfredo, Chicken Parmesan, and Lasagna. Wow this was a big plate of food. Sometimes with a trio you get just a little bit of each but was pleasantly surprised with the portions. Before even taking a bite was happy to see so much sauce. This is essential. The Lasagna had big ground beef chunks and soft pasta. It was the star and believe is made in house. The Chicken Parm was good, breading wasn't too thick but chicken was a little dry. Probably the weakest of the three. Maybe it's my inner child, but I also liked that they had the Alfredo in a separate bowl. It was very creamy and satisfying. As the dish was so plentiful I had leftovers to take home. My friend's entree was also pretty sizable but she was able to eat it all. We came for a later lunch so it wasn't very busy, I was impressed with the service. Our waiter was very attentive and polite and we were absolutely in and out within an hour so we could get back to work on time. Would absolutely return here for a future lunch meet up or for dinner. Nice to have a family owned, local options near by.

This is Sal very pleasant gentleman. I had to let him know Dr. Harrington recommended his steak hero . He said so he did how many? 2 please . Took care of me right away. The other young lady was also pleasant helping others to the table while chatting with me while I waited. Got home and we demolished when I say demolished I mean it all of it including the chips . It was delicious with real steak mayo peppers onions and cheese and we added chips and jalapeño . Thanks again Sal

Absolute, garbage. The hoagie specials(meatball and Cheese steak) with fries. Meatballs tasted frozen as did the steak. The fries were bone dry. First time here and my last time. Enjoy, my money.

This place is an authentic Italian place. The food is delicious the atmosphere made me feel at an Italian Cantina. The waiter was attentive and on top of everything. I will come back.

    A neighborhood staple for years!!

There was a time the kids and I were regular visitors of Vito's. It was close to my house when the kids were staying over and the food was relatively good and fairly priced. What I always liked about the place and still do today, is that it is family owned and operated, which is a rarity today, and therefore, should be supported! It was one of the reasons I went there quite often with the kids. Many a meal I dined at Vito's with a dine-a-mate coupon, which the kids never quite understood, but they weren't paying the bill! Now they are dine-a-mate/groupon specialists!! I have a bittersweet memory of taking my step-father there with the family when he was already stage four cancer. He could only swallow soup and none of us enjoyed the meal due to sad circumstances and some dishes that seemed bland, and so, we did not go back for several years. And yet, every time I go to Food Lion at Cornwallis Shopping Center, there is Vito's, calling me back! Ritorno!! A couple of months ago, the kids and I decided to give Vito's another shot and we enjoyed it. We all had the standard stuff...pasta, chicken parm, baked ziti, etc. Portions were nice sized, and considering how expensive things are right now, I found the menu prices to be fair. The best part of the meal was the kids and I planning out our next international trip...this one will be to Costa Rica. I stopped by Vito's last week to get a chicken parm hero. It was a little dry and needed more marinara and felt expensive for a sandwich. Maybe I should have gotten the meal? For this reason and others, I am giving them a four star rather than five. Everything is good, but nothing is great. Can't quite put my finger on it, but when I leave there there is still a feeling if, "It was good, but"" or "Maybe I should have gone to Elizabeth's on Lawndale or Mediterraneo on Pisgah Church or Positano on Lawndale." With that being said, Vito's is a staple in Greensboro and a survivor, and a favorite amongst many, They have excellent specials, great price on a pizza special and I am always a big fan of family operated businesses. Easy to find, easy to park and a cool old fashioned family vibe inside with bar, pastries and take-out. I'll be back, I always come back to Vito's. They were around when my kids were young and dine-a-mates were a staple in my family and they will probably be around when my kids bring me there with my walker! Head to Vito's for a glass of wine, some Italian bread, a good pasta meal or baked dish and a cannoli. Ciao!!

Every time we visit Vito's, we try something new on their menu. Everything is always delicious and fresh! The price point is great as well... This time we ordered veal Marsala and linguine with clams. Everything was delicious! We will be back again soon!

The restaurant was clean and was on the casual side of fancy. The server was quick and kind. The bread was hot and they had real butter! It was also delicious! The bowl of soups was enormous. The pastas at the table were good but all required a bit more salt. We will be going back regardless.

By the time I left around 6, there were people standing and waiting to be seated. The patio was open with one couple enjoying the nice weather and relative quiet of outdoors. Embur recently relocated to Smyres Place in Greensboro and the new space feels much smaller than I expected. The design reminded me of what I imagine a modern restaurant in Peru might look like. Industrial with solid wood floors, warm finishes, and a large wine display. There are around 25 to 26 tables, mostly two tops and four tops. The largest table seats six, but they will push tables together for larger groups. While I was there, a group of more than 20 came in celebrating something and they were seated quickly without disrupting the rest of the room. The small patio has outdoor seating with about 8 tables and a they have bar area with about nine comfortable seats. The menu took me a minute to understand but I ended up liking the setup. You choose your entrée, which comes with set ingredients, and then choose your protein. Each protein has a different price, so you can control the cost of your meal somewhat. Most menu items can also be made gluten free according to the menu, and vegetarian options seem easy to do. For my appetizer, I ordered the flatbread. Perfection. Rosemary, olive oil, sea salt. Crispy outside, soft inside, and so flavorful I almost ate the whole thing before my meal was served. The server came with water right away and remain attentive but not intrusive the whole time. For my entree, I ordered the Arroz Chaufa with salmon. Arroz Chaufa literally means fried rice. At first the dish seemed a bit salty to me, but once I added the green sauce that comes with it (served on the side), everything balanced out. The green sauce has very mild heat, so if you are not a fan of spicy food, that is the one I would recommend. There is a list of sauces so I assume you can customize your entree. According to my server, the other sauces bring more heat. The salmon was excellent, well seasoned but not too much, and moist. The portion was ample. I was very hungry but I had leftovers to bring home. Service was exactly what I want when dining alone. Attentive without being intrusive. I watched Netflix while I ate and enjoyed my meal without feeling rushed or bothered. The noise level is average for a busy small restaurant. Comfortable enough to relax, but if you want to talk to someone in your group a couple of seats away, you will need your outside voice. This place feels upscale without being fussy, so expected to pay more than average, but I thought it was good value for the quality and portions. I loved this restaurant and will absolutely go back. Must order: Rosemary flatbread appetizer. Tip: Ask about sauce heat before ordering. If you do not like spicy food, start with the green sauce.

I came here to write, in short, that the food was great and the service was awful. Which is funny,…read morebecause it turns out I wrote nearly the exact opposite of that almost a year ago. Who knew a corporate chain could have such variation. On my most recent visit, we were seated immediately, but sat for around 15 minutes before anyone spoke to us at all. Right when we were about to get up and walk out, we saw the manager flag down someone, who turned out not to be our server, but got our drink orders. Interesting approach... I was surprised he would rather pull someone off their section than take our drinks himself. I guess he was too busy hovering near the host stand, watching everyone. We got our drinks very promptly after ordering, but it was a little while longer before our server came by to take our food orders. She was lovely, and very apologetic about the wait. She was clearly doing her best, but had multiple HUGE parties that ate up most of her time. I watched her run around all night. She never stopped moving, yet there were huge delays in our service, and we had several drinks-empty-out-of-bread-no-food moments. We got our appetizer around 30 minutes after arriving. While we sat idle, with no food or drink, we had plenty of time to people-watch. And we observed many other parties having similar issues to us. The table behind us, who had a different, equally busy server, had to get up and walk to the bar or host stand several times to ask for things like drink refills, napkins, etc. Mind you, our tables were literally right next to the host stand, and by extension, by the manager who hovered there the whole time. I understand that management does, obviously, involve managing. So, sometimes managers do need to supervise and coach their staff. However, part of being a leader is jumping in when needed. Which this guy clearly had no interest in doing. I can't fathom why you would ever choose to hunt down another, uninvolved staff member, to do something that would take you all of 30 seconds to do yourself. He also never actually spoke to us directly, despite clearly seeing our delays in service. A far cry from the many restaurants whose managers circle the dining room checking on every guest at least once. Oh and there was a green, hair-like object (Dyed hair? Thin plastic thread?) in my chicken. Our waitress had the dish replaced promptly, but, it really should not happen to start with. We also were served a basket of still-frozen-inside bread once. Not so fresh baked, I guess. Other than the hair and the (ice) cold bread, the food was great. I do really like the Carrabba's menu in general. However, this location continues to disappoint. I doubt I'll make the mistake of coming here a 3rd time.

In the past, I have had the lunch specials during the week which are good, filling, and a great value. Today we came by for an early Saturday dinner. My husband got the lamb chops with mashed potatoes and broccoli. I tasted it and was a little jealous that I hadn't ordered it myself. I got the pasta with filet and shrimp. I ate and ate but it didn't look like I had touched my food. The pasta was a white sauce, which sometimes is kind of one note but this was quite tasty. The steak and shrimp were both perfectly cooked. We both agree that the Caesar salad at Carrabbas is the best.
