So I used to come here all the time for my feed and chicks, I even liked stopping by just to look…read more But after recently I stopped going for a few reasons. 1) Other than knowing where items are in the store, there is a giant lack of knowledge when it comes to how to care for animals and what you should buy for them to keep them healthy. I don't work here and I know way more about chicks than anyone working there. 2) I get situations where the employees are careless and pushy to get things over with, but this isn't always the case. I do know some individuals that I will go there just to say hi to even though I'm not buying anything. 3) the prices are more that tractor supply due to them being privately owned and their variety for chicks is small. 4) My last straw was when I came in to buy a chick, and what I bought was not at all what they advertised it to be. I bought a blue Cochin pullet to add to my flock of ladies. Months go buy and the chick started looked absolutely nothing like the breed, and it started showing signs of a rooster. It grew up to be a male cross bred chicken that was completely white and it was seriously mean to the point of leaving scratched on my mom. I wasn't offered anything in return for the mixed bread (which it was supposed to be pure bred Cochin). So at this point I just gave him away and never got chicks from them again. You shouldn't be selling cross breeds for the price of pure bred. My assumption is that he was a blue Cochin mixed with a white silkie.

There is plenty of parking, and accessing the store is very easy. They still carry all the amazing brands and products they had at their other location, and even have a little discounted area with some toys and clothes for your pet. I recently visited the store to pick-up a birthday cookie cake for my dog, Frankie. This has become a little bit of a tradition for our family and every year we place an order from The Waggery. Frankie is obsessed with his birthday treat, and is big enough that he can enjoy a little bit of it for the next couple of days. I know I've said this before on my last review, but highly recommend The Waggery! Plus, they have 15% off when you check-in on Yelp (yay!).

The Ruffwear line they sell is one of my favorites and had saved me during 2 immediate needs. 1st was when my pup chewed on the buckle of her harness and she was way smaller than my other pup that I had nothing for her. And 2nd was when I decided to travel with my pups to Portland during rainy weather and my big pup needed a raincoat that really covered his body. The Barkery however is my ultimate favorite. I immediately tried them out when they started selling baked goods and I've never looked elsewhere. They cookies/cookie cakes are AMAZING and have an awesome price attached to it. My pups can never get enough of their cakes. Their Raw treat bar is also the best and my pups eat it up in a jiffy. Love recommending this place to everyone. The owner is the sweetest and really is invested in helping all of her customers. I've ordered things through her before that she didn't have in the store at the time and she is very communicative. If you love spoiling your pups, this is the place for you!

My favorite thing when visiting is seeing the owners three dogs (I think they are Pyrenees they are friendly and to tell you the truth are large, then he also has his cat and the cat is chill. I absolutely hate supporting breeders and puppy mills. There are thousands of animals that need a home!!! Why are we still putting our money into the absolute madness?! And to sell caged up birds that had their freedom taken away for profit? No thank you!!! The two times I have been, the owner has greeted me upon coming in and has always been courteous and willing to help. My first visit was to browse for a harness and leash for my cat, a lick pad, and some treats. I did have to ask for the cat section but everything was so organized and clean! The second time I brought my cat and came in to get him treats and ear cleaning wipes. The shop from the outside looks small but wow does it have a lot of products! They have treats freshly baked that you can take a look through the glass display. They have these beautiful artisanal leather accessories that are great for yourself or a gift the pet-loving one(s) in your life. They have lots of coats and puffer jackets for the pups, freeze dried options, and raw options.

I should have known when they had to get a cashier to interpret English to the groomer that it was going to be a complete mess. Shaved his face too! He looks pathetic. DO NOT bring your dog here. He was howling in a cage when I came to pick him up. It makes me sick that I put him through this and had to pay $75 for the worst grooming experience.

I have been using this dog boarding and grooming retreat intermittently for the past three years…read more Recently, I boarded two of my dogs for three days, which included playtime and grooming for my standard poodle, as well as a bath for my teacup yorkie. The online booking process was quite easy. Unfortunately, my last visit was disappointing due to overbooked grooming services and poor check-in communication. I received multiple calls with various frustrating excuses, including one that said they couldn't find the paperwork detailing the grooming style I wanted for my poodle and another that cited staffing shortages. These were just a couple of the reasons provided. I received these calls while I was at work, which was exactly why I had boarded my dogs--to avoid interruptions unless absolutely necessary. Since I remained in San Antonio, I expected better communication and reliable follow-through, especially given the high costs involved. I wish I had been informed from the start about the issues so they could have been addressed while I was not in the middle of giving presentations. After all my troubles, I was offered a 10% discount on the grooming, but they ultimately did a subpar job. I am very disappointed with the staff I spoke to, including the manager. I didn't want to express my frustration immediately, so I waited three weeks before posting this review.
