After 10 exhausting months of battling with my dog, Theo--who treated his kennel like a personal torture chamber and barked like he was auditioning for a siren competition--I was completely worn out. We're talking nonstop, ear-piercing, dramatic barking for hours. I'm pretty sure the neighbors considered moving. Then we met Rebecca. Within ONE WEEK of obedience training, Theo transformed. He now goes into his kennel willingly--yes, willingly--and actually sleeps in it like a peaceful little angel. I still catch myself staring in disbelief. I spent nearly a year trying every trick in the book, and Rebecca came in and solved it like she had a cheat code for dog behavior. Her training style is calm, clear, and somehow makes you feel like you can actually do this. She understands dogs in a way that's almost magical. Theo loves her, and honestly, so do I. Rebecca and Jordan did an amazing job with our dog Charlie. He is a totally new dog since being in training with them. She taught him multiple commands, socialized him with the other dogs, and taught him to be obedient on a leash. I would recommend her to anyone adopting a rescue or purchasing a dog! read more

These guys saved my bacon today! I am selling my house and needed to get the dogs out of the house fast. The team at Paw Paws went into action. I got my vaccine documents to them, filled out an application and they "interviewed" my dogs to make sure they could play nice with the other dogs. I appreciated the lengthy application form because it helps the staff know more about your pets. They have indoor and outdoor facilities that looked like they're cleaned regularly. You could tell everyone there really really loves animals. When I came to pick up my pups, one of the staff members was snuggling with them. It was super adorable! Their pricing is very competitive and they are open longer than the other nearby doggie boarding outfits. I'm so glad these guys moved into the neighborhood. They're also right down the street from Hollywood Feed where I buy my dog food. It's a win-win all around. read more

I recounted the gross behavior that two of YOUR employees displayed to me- merely a passer by. Reading is fundamental, there was nothing false about the recount. My husky was trained by Becky, the owner of Paw Paws, at the age of 4 months, a short time after we adopted him since he was a handful. He started to do what she asked of him, like magic, and training me and my girls of what she's been working w/ him on. He went through training every day plus daycare for one month. He graduated and remained in daycare 'till present, every day. I even boarded him for a week while I was out of town. He did great. Becky and the staff take good care of him and when he comes back from daycare, daily, he is TIRED, from a full day of playing w/ the other pups. I'll never forget when he stepped in poop and Becky texts me to let me know that she is going to give him a bath (full bath)!!! He smelled so so good after. My husky is a high energy puppy and I like it very much that he takes all his energy out at the daycare with playing and being outside and when he comes home he just wants to eat, go for a walk and go to bed. In short, this is a horrible place! rebecca, who acts more like Karen with her LIES is not professional and lacks the people skills that she should've gotten as a kid. She's the type person that does not take responsibility for her wrongdoings, instead, she criticizes the customer tries to make it about you, the paying customer...I'm sure you guys know the type. Sadly, she seems to always be in attack mode. She claims she noticed a cyst on his head on day 3 and told my husband on 5 when he picked our baby up. It probably came from them making him stay in a crate that was too small for him. Our baby had several other injuries from her boarding facility and she didn't even contact us to let us know (who does that?) and after bathing him soon as he got home because we didn't want any of their fleas and ticks on our baby, we noticed several wounds on him. Of course we took him to the Vet and the said he the injuries were pressure sores!!!! So y'all know what causes pressure sores? Laying in one spot for too long which causes too much pressure and injures the skin. So basically, he was crammed in a small crate on a concrete floor and couldn't move. His injuries are consistent with that. She's just a negligent person and I will never take our beloved baby back and I DO NOT RECOMMEND PAW PAW'S HELL HOLE to anyone, but I can bet rebecca...I mean Karen, is gonna come on here with all types of LIES because that's what "KARENS" do. read more

My sisters and I took my almost 2-year-old black Retriever mix rescue, Jack-Jack, to Paw Paw's, and it was great! He completed their 4-week obedience training class. Jack-Jack has lots of energy and is very curious. Before, he was a horrible leash-puller and loved playing roughly with other dogs and pets which made it difficult for him to go to daycare. Since the class, he has calmed down so much and knows how to appropriately play with other dogs. The owner, Rebecca, is so kind and was so patient with both Jack-Jack and me and my sister!! She was available to answer all of our questions and provide amazing insight into how to own a well behaved dog. The staff is awesome too! Jordan was another person always there to answer questions and provide tips! I can't say enough how happy I am with Paw Paw's Pets and Jack-Jack's progress! Highly recommend! read more

I left my healthy dog at Paw Paw's because we took our children to various camps for the summer. He ended up at Utopia hospital with pneumonia, weakness, and significant weight loss. I'm not going to go back and forth with Rebecca about why my dog ended up sick and malnourished, as it would be pointless. I just felt obligated to leave this post because when I decided to board my dog there, there were no posts that would have caused me to think that my dog's life would be in danger. read more

I highly recommend taking your dog here for grooming! If anyone knows me, my dog is my kid and I want nothing but the best for her. I had just recently move in town from Michigan and was unsure of where to take my dog. I looked at reviews and this one definitely had the best reviews. I figured I would give it a try. The owner was so nice and helpful! She even listened and cut my dog how I had asked instead of going against my wishes like previous places and cutting her how they think she she be cut on her breed. Not to mention. She did the grooming quicker then I was expecting! We just completed one month of day training for our puppy. Before we took our baby to Rebecca and her team at Paw Paw's Pets, our dog would not walk on a leash AT ALL. He was pretty much running things at our house. The training at Paw Paw's helped us so much. They worked daily with our baby, and also took plenty of time to help me. Now he is walking on leash and doing basic commands like sit, lay, leave it, etc. We couldn't be happier with Paw Paw's! They are super professional and so great to work with! read more

I completely forgot to make a boarding reservation for my babies over the holidays where they usually stay - Paw Paw's came to my rescue! Rebecca and Jordan were both incredibly friendly, easy to talk to, and informative. My 2 dogs are like my children, so I wanted to make sure wherever they stayed they were cared for. I could tell at Paw Paw's they genuinely care about all of the fur babies that come in, and they made me and mine feel right at home. When I went to pick them up, both of my pups were happy and healthy, and not nearly as desperate to make it home as usual! I can tell they enjoyed their stay, we will definitely be coming back here for future daycare and boarding needs. read more

This evening, I witnessed another dog obedience class that is one of the services offered at Paw Paw's Pets. The session was an introductory lesson for both the 10 week puppy and his owners. It's amazing the things you learn and the things you've always known just never applied to your pet. I enjoy the session and loved seeing the interaction between the trainer, the animal, and the owners. All the while, one of the service dogs, Jet, just sat by and watched with me. I called several times to ask questions about the process since I'm not from Memphis and couldn't get anyone to answer. I finally left a message and when she called me back, rushed me off the phone, saying there was someplace she needed to be soon. I called back later, a few times, and no one answered. I finally left another message saying that I was looking for a place to keep my dog while I'm on vacation but I'm not very comfortable leaving my dog somewhere that never answers. Becky called me back, saying she wouldn't take my dog anyway because I was "already complaining" and hung up before I could say anything more. Would you leave your child with a babysitter or daycare that had a policy of not answering the phone, even during business hours? My dog is not my child. I have children. I do understand that there is a difference, but my children are grown now, and this dog means the world to me. If I were going to drop him off somewhere and go on my vacation without care, I would board him in my hometown for the week. I was only looking to board him for a day so I could keep him with me as much as possible and leave him only for one day of sight-seeing. I can't believe she called me back just to say that she doesn't want him (and won't take him) because I'm "already complaining," ie. showing signs of caring! She didn't even give me time to explain, she was very rude and just hung up! Don't take my word for it, see if you can get someone to answer the phone, BEFORE you board your dog, because if you think they're going to answer when you call to check up on your little precious, they're NOT. Becky (the owner) might call you back to berate you for your inquiry but I wouldn't expect an update on your pup. read more

My young dog had his first day at camp today! I have tried a different doggy day care in town but ultimately felt like 30-40 dogs pinned in a giant room together wasn't what I was looking for so I tried Paw Paw. My dog was so worn out after the day, he wasn't even interested in his favorite treat! I called the facility Tuesday and spoke with Rebecca. She listened to my concerns and interests and addressed each one. I could tell right a way that her commitment lies in providing an excellent service for both dog and master. I was sent a text update on my dog's day around lunchtime and another after my dog was picked up, thanking me for choosing her company. I was very pleased at the level on personalized service they provided and even more pleased with my exhausted puppy. read more

Pawpaws pets is great. We had a very hard to handle blood hound puppy who we were on the verge of rehoming untill we met rebbeca at pawpaws. My dog is so different now. The obedience classes are great. My dog loves it there. They have everything a dog could want in their play yards. You can even have them give them a bath. read more

Paw Paws and the owner Rebecca is awesome. We have boarded our dogs, Rocket and Gower there for over a week as well as utilizing the day care services. Usually after boarding our dogs, we go through some readjustment period once they get home. They were tired, but not acting "weird" as they have after some other boarding experiences, where you could tell they hadn't had a good time. At Paw Paws they were their normal, happy but tired selves. So glad to see. The real test was when I took them back for day care. Tails wagging and jumping out of the car anxious to go play with their doggie friends. Highly recommend! read more

My dog Rowley loves going to Paw paws daycare! Rebecca and her family are wonderful with the dogs, and take great care in making sure it's a safe and fun environment for all animals. They have an indoor and outdoor space for the dogs to play (which is great when the weather is bad), and boy do they play! Paws paws daycare gives Rowley a safe place to socialize with other dogs and a place to burn off some of that puppy energy (which might be more of a perk for me). This is the pet boarding and daycare that I wish was in my town! We were on a long haul drive through Memphis, moving cross country with our big, silly dog Barley. After 2 long driving days, we wanted to give him a chance to stretch his legs and relax a little. The folks at Paw Paw's were super friendly and accommodating! They took on our out-of-town pup for the afternoon and the night and it looks like he had a blast. The facility has a great outdoor play area with tons of shade, water, and structures for climbing on or sitting under. The inside area is spacious, clean, and cool. It's basically dog summer camp! Barley's tail was wagging so much when we picked him up, it was almost hard to get him in the car. The folks at Paw Paw's really understand their pack and keep the dogs happy and safe. My dog has been going to paw paw's for about a year now and I have nothing but great things to say. I trust them 100% to take care of my dog and treat him like their own. We have used their training classes and daycare. My dog had some obedience issues around other dogs and Becky and her team worked with us and him to correct the issue and he is like a different dog now! I would never take my dog anywhere but Paw Paw's. He gets so excited whenever we pull in and I love being able to see pictures and videos of him though out the day! One comment can ruin someone's business thanks to social media, so I thought it was necessary to post this here. Now. The Wilson family does a great job of taking care of their pack. Dogs are allowed to be dogs. There was recently a comment saying that they leave their dogs unattended outside. not true. Every time I have been there to drop off my dog, there has always been someone outside watching them. I've taken my pup to one other place and I've liked this one better, it has more space and like I said dogs get to be dogs rather than crammed on each other in a tiny space. My dogs a little rambunctious (and he's a rescue too!) and I was nervous the first time I brought him there. I thought he was going to get kicked out. At the other place, I felt like he was treated like a bad step child(like they were annoyed with him). So I bring him here now...Becky has always been very responsive about pick up and drop off or check in's. read more

Paw Paws Pets on Broad is a winner for pet care. My Senior dog went there for grooming which is usually stressful for her being deaf. Rebecca asked a lot of questions to get to know my dog. When I picked her up she was happy and rested. This was a first! Rebecca had walked her and she was not forced to wait in a tight cage. I will be back. I also will board her there when she needs it. Rebecca is a retired teacher and loves her dogs. She is very kind . Her set up is great for the dogs to run around and get in the baby pools. Her daughter helps her. All the dogs were playing on a dog playground made of palettes in a fenced area . She does a temperament test to make sure everything is ok. Her terms are clear and reasonable. We sure enjoyed not havin. The dog to worry over knowing he wS better there than in a crate. Loved it! read more

The Wilson family took care of our puppy, Rosie, for three months, until we unfortunately had to move. They did a wonderful job taking care of our girl - I never felt unsafe leaving her there. They are truly in the business because they love animals - to that end, services are incredibly reasonable from a price standpoint, and very high-value. In fact, they took extra care to bring her inside when it got too hot, because of her short nose. I never saw the dogs unattended, outside or inside. She came home after every play day happy and exhausted. Everyone comments about howe well-socialized she is, and how well she plays with dogs of all sizes. She boarded with them for a few days when I was out of town and there were no issues. When we noticed that she had some changes in her bowel habits, Rebecca was happy to make recommendations for some changes that we could make, and we haven't had any issues since then. Wish we would have been there long enough to take advantage of their training classes. We miss these guys - there is not a similar facility in our new city. read more

Paw Paw's did an amazing job with my dog Rose. I have used both the boarding and training at Paw Paw's and Rose has absolutely loved it. Ira does an amazing job training and Rose quickly picked up on his methods and has improved leaps and bounds in behavior. Ira was able to do what previous trainers I had were not.
