This is my first review but I thought I should share my little secret here. Nadja at Paw Spa has been great over the years with our Shih Tzus and I can't recommend her enough. And our pups love her. They actually like going to see her to get groomed! Nadja does a great job and remembers how we like them done. And has them done when she says she will. Our pups are our kids and I'm VERY picky about vets, groomers, etc. But with Nadja at Paw Spa, I know they are being treated like we would want and they come out looking great! I am disappointed with the way I've been treated here. I took my dogs here a few times because of the good rating and I live across the street from Paw Spa. I took my Lab in once who only need a bath and brush and was charged $50. His other groomers were anywhere from $25-$28 for him so I was shocked. I mentioned that it was much higher than everywhere else and Nadia didn't look pleased and disregarded my comment. I decided I'll take him to his old groomer instead from that point on. I continued to take my shitzu at $50 because for him, that is the average rate because of all the trimming that shitzus need. My second experience was just fine. The third time I took my shitzu Nadia sent me a message literally the morning of canceling the appointment. I panicked because I was headed out of town and didn't have a way to reschedule with anyone else. Turns out I'd received a text message from Nadia asking me to confirm the appointment a fee days before. I received the text but at a glance I thought it was a reminder. When I demanded she take him in anyway explaining that I had never received a text before so this is new and I thought it was a reminder text she graciously helped me out and took him in anyway. Problem is, I apologized and told her it was my fault for not reading the text thoroughly. I explained this is a new procedure and now I'll know what to expect next time. She didn't even crack a smile. Nadia was very rude and I felt very uncomfortable. Not the experience you expect when you're a paying customer. I thought I'd give her one more chance and chalked her attitude that day as a bad day. I'm very fair and don't like giving bad reviews. I also like to give places more than one chance. I'm a huge promoter of small business owners and prefer to give them my business. When I tried to schedule another appointment she sent me a text and told me based on her last experience she will not accept my business. I was shocked. The whole situation was really not that serious. There are many groomers in the area that are less expensive and know how to treat paying customers. Go somewhere else where you will not be canceled at the last minute completely throwing your day off and where you won't deal with attitude. Honestly, Paw Spa does not do anything special with haircuts so you're missing out. read more

I had been taking my blue heeler/Australian shepherd mix to petsmart grooming for a little while but started wanting to take her to a less overcrowded "big business" company. I began searching for a small business because I felt they would be more personable and caring because petsmart, they see so many dogs that I feel they don't put a lot of care into it. I scoured yelp like I always do for the best option and Paw Spa was the first to pop up and got the best reviews. So, I called to make an appointment. This place is actually inside a veterinary office, that is important to know or you will be lost. If you're looking for a sign that says Paw Spa, you won't find it. It is inside the Aspen Arbor Animal Hospital. At first when I went into the room for the groomer I was a little surprised because it is in the back of the hospital and seemed a little sketch. But, Nadja the owner, is SO NICE and made me feel better when she explained her set-up. She keeps all the dogs in the room with her, which after finding out why she does that I love. Like with petsmart, they keep all the dogs in the back by themselves. She keeps them in the room with her so they know they are not alone and I think that lifts a little stress from the dogs. I was surprised when I walked into to pick up Keira (my dog) ALL the dogs were quiet. And Nadja put it a funny way that it was like they are watching TV while she grooms the other dogs, sort of calming for them. The price was obviously a little more than I paid at petsmart but it was still reasonable. I like to think I'm paying a little more for the extra attention and care. The best part? I got a thank you card in the mail from her! It just goes to show that her clients are very important to her. I have already made an appointment for my other dog and plan on returning to her for the rest of my dogs' grooming needs! read more

I specifically searched on yelp for a place to take my baby boy to get his nails trimmed. I found Nadja and she had the best reviews in regards to this service. I contacted her in the morning to see if she had any openings and she responded back that it was a walk in service and to come in before 2. First off, we had a difficult time finding where she was located at and we eventually figured it out from another shop owner. She's located in the pet hospital. When we arrived, she looked like she had a lot going on, but still took us in. We told her initially that he has a hard time when it comes to cutting his nails. Regardless, she rushed the service and did not take her time doing his nails. She cut through the quick for two of his nails! She only realized one of the nails were bleeding, and I had to look at his paws to find out that another one was bleeding. He has never had this happen to him, and I asked her if there was anything I needed to know about how to take care of the injury afterwards. She said that he would be fine because she put the powder on him to stop the bleeding. But after doing research, he was not supposed to be walking for the next 30 minutes! Good thing I looked it up! He was traumatized for a while after this happened. Had I known that she was too busy and was not able to take her time to do a nail trim, I would not have taken him in and would have came back during a time that was more appropriate. I even drove a further distance due to these great reviews. She was apologetic, but I will not be going back. read more

Since moving to the Denver area a decade ago, Nadja has been grooming our dogs, a Shih-tzu and Pomeranian. As far as we are concerned, Nadja is a top notch groomer with extremely high and versatile skill sets; she can groom any breed of dog and make it look fabulous! Our little ones won't let me trim, blow dry or brush out their coats but for Nadja, they'll roll over on their backs and let her groom them as the day is long! I keep my Pomeranian in a "cat's lion cut" and I keep my Shih-Tzu in a very short puppy cut. She communicates very well with us regarding how we want our dogs cut and styled so we're sure to get exactly what we want. Both dogs are so happy when they've been groomed by Nadja and one would think we have a little Prince and Princess when we pick them up. Not only does Nadja have a wonderful way with animals (who love her to pieces), but her grooming space is extremely clean, free of fleas and ticks, she has all "newer" equipment and uses proper sanitization for her implements she uses. Wow! Such a great job! My dog is a VERY skittish rescue dog. We had never needed to take her to a groomer before, but we noticed her nails were getting really long. We were afraid of trimming them ourselves and cutting the cuticle, so I found Nadja at the Paw Spa on Yelp. She had amazing rave reviews, and now I know why. She was so kind and gentle with my terrified dog, who actually managed to calm down by the end. She also suggested trimming the fur on the bottom of her feet so she wouldn't slide around on hard surfaces. And to top it off, her prices were very comparable to others with lesser reviews. I just found Nadja on yelp, and am so glad! I took my chihuahuas in for a nail trim, and she was so good with the dogs (chihuahuas are notoriously bad at getting their nails trimmed). She was patient with the squirmiest one, and was very nice to deal with. The other dogs in the room were all calm and quiet, and all had water. It is rare that you get to see the area where the dogs are groomed- it was very clean, and everyone back there seemed to be very happy. We will be back! read more

Nadja at Paw Spa rocks my socks! My two Shih Tzus have been getting groomed by Nadja for their entire lives (almost 6 and 7 years). When I ask them if they want to go see Nadja, their ears perk up, and they start to get excited. They love her! She is so careful with them, as if they were her own dogs. Her grooming is meticilous, very neat, and our dogs are always really clean, smell great, and look fantastic when they come home. She also never takes longer than she says she will to get them thoroughly groomed. Several times over the years, when they need a quick trim around the eyes between groomings, she's done it on the house, which is so much appreciated! My wife normally brings our dog to Nadja, but on a few occasions I've brought him. I am impressed with her setup. It is very clean and open where she can keep an eye on all of the dogs in the kennels. No dog is ever left unattended. Unlike some other places where your dog disappears to a back room for hours where they spend to much time in a kennel b/c they do not manage their appointments very well. This was very stressful for our dog. We were very pleased when we found Nadja b/c she usually immediately starts working on our dog as soon as we bring him in. The only time he spends in the kennel is when he is drying. On a few occasions she was working on another dog when I brought ours in and it made me smile to hear her talking with the dog while she worked on them. I also liked how she keeps notes on the dogs so she can track work previously done to ensure she knows your preferences. She genuinely seems to love her work which comes through in her actions. Most dogs do not like to go to the groomers. We are 1st time dog parents so were overly critical when picking out a groomer. We tried a few different ones and each time our dog came back very stressed and scarred. Now ... if you mention Nadja's name at home our dog will run to the door waiting to hop in the car with tail wagging.
