Ordered a chain online for around 120, it's so beautiful I don't have to question it's authenticity because I trust them and it's truly one of the most beautiful inexpensive pieces I've been looking for- for literally years. If you see something rare buy it. There's no many things I like on the market but this is my second piece I've bought from pawn America. First the cross pendant in Madison Wi, and then I ordered the chain from Appleton location for delivery to my address. I'm very satisfied with shipping and quality of the things I've purchased. This establish used to be one of my favorite places to visit because they had interesting items. We've purchased DVDs and small electronic items in the past. The employees used to be well groomed and plenty standing around to help but this is no longer the case. I've been to other Pawn Americas in the Midwest and the one in Appleton carries the most, what I like to say, "over-priced junk". It seems like they will just take anything and everything. The store was pretty packed. I even found a plastic clothes hanger with a price tag. I kid you not. I don't know if it's lined with gold or if was an accessory to the real item but people need clothes hangers too. I've never pawned anything in my life so I have no idea how that process work or what is involved with that on the other side of this pawn shop. read more

I come here multiple times a week, i also stop at other pawn shops within the valley, This Pawn store is by far the BEST of the bunch..BY A LANDSLIDE... The Employees at the other stores are ALWAYs to busy to help, don't bother looking for an item if they are unsure and i dont leave those stores feeling the need to wave or say by to the employees. Its almost the complete opposite at the westhill location Some of the electronics I've bought from here in the past might not have worked properly but every time i brought the product back within the 7-14 days they give me a full CASH return and some cases discounted the price of what i swapped the faulty item for. The manager is super nice and always busy but at the same time knows me by name and helps if i wave her down. In the past few months they've really cleaned the place up, got rid of ageing inventory and organized things much better. Theres no option for 4.5 stars, If there were it would be for the pawn counter. it really has its own atmosphere because people dont get the price they wanted or because pawn clerks are dealing with all the stolen items being brought in. A Pawn store cannot be judged upon the Pawn desk though because no one is going to like the price of their item being bought from them for under retail sale price, but that's how Pawn stores stay in business.. Any negative reviews of this store are most likely to be routed to the pawn counters. read more

This place is just an absolute mess. 4-5 counters for customers yet they NEVER have more than 2-3 open if youre lucky. Plan on spending 45min-hour min just to get service. Then expect to get low balled as low as they possibly can. Employees move VERY SLOW, act as if there isnt a care in the world. They seem to have forgotten the customers are the ones that keep them in business! If u like to shop? Expect the store to be a mess, items all handled and touched by customers, and best of all, its 50/50 whether products work or not. There is no process to remedy any of this and if there is, they've neglected to use it since they opened. Mr Money will always get my business over this mess of a store. read more

I can definitely relate to the other reviews - the pawn counter is absolutely horrible. If you go in there on a Tuesday at 1pm, you might be able to get in and out in 20 minutes, but if you're planning to go on a weekend - don't. You'll spend at least 30 minutes in line just waiting to get up to the counter, and another 10 minutes waiting for them to actually get around to talking to you between phone calls. Prices they offer are absolute bottom dollar - I put an $800 shotgun on loan one time and they offered me $80 - I had to haggle them up to $100, just for a loan. Inside the store you'll find 3 aisles of DVD's in absolutely no order whatsoever. This sucks because DVD's are pretty much the only thing worth buying in the entire store. There is no rhyme or reason, no alphabetizing, no categories like "action" or "horror" movies... Just piles of DVD's that I've personally spent 2 hours at a time looking through. There are some treasures hidden in the DVD rack, but you have to dedicate an entire afternoon to looking for them. Sometimes, if you're lucky, you can find some things that were mis-priced, or if you're REALLY lucky, you'll find an item that they're willing to drop the price on - for example, I found a vintage Sharp record player marked at $64.99 and I walked out the door with it for $35; I also found a 3,000 watt Crown Hi-Fi concert amplifier for $130, and it's easily worth triple that. Those deals are few and far-between though, and in recent months the store has become so over-packed and over-crowded that I really only go in there as a last resort or when I'm suffering from EXTREME boredom. Lately they've been on a "knick-knack" kick, with an entire aisle dedicated to stuff that looks like it came out of grandma's sun room curio cabinet. Overall I give this place 2/5 stars... TL;DR: customer service is pretty awful, and the pawn counter is an hour long ordeal almost any day of the week, but there are some hidden gems waiting to be found if you're willing to sift through a bunch of overpriced garbage first. Also, plan on spending an entire afternoon if you're looking for any movies, since the DVD aisles are an absolute nightmare. read more

I read the previous review and went anyway. And surprise! It was exactly as she described it. I was first in line, I go to the counter and while I'm talking the guy answers the phone and starts talking to another customer...for 10 min. He gets off starts scanning my items...and then answers another call! He stood and helped another caller while I just stood there. He never even excused himself to answer the calls either time! He just picked it up and acted like I wasn't there. I scooped up my stuff and walked out. Never again. read more

Well I just went there I was behind a guy with a guitar, they did not take it. I had a film camera and all the extras, the did not take it, I also had some crystal, they did not take that. I will not be returning to Pawn America. These reviews are accurate; there was one person at the counter to help customers out of 5 or so available windows. Luckily, I went at 7pm on a week night, so I didn't have to wait. I brought a 2-year-old Insignia NS-40DR420NA16 40" Roku TV in excellent condition and was offered $50 for it when I could have easily gotten $150-$200 on eBay or Craigslist. I know they need to turn a profit, but $50 is bogus for an almost-new smart TV. I'm pretty sure the only 5-star review I've seen on here is from an internal employee. read more

I stopped in to just look at diamond jewelry. Carmen came over, and was so helpful, and pleasant and knowledgeable about the items. She was really patient as I asked her to show me things. I was extremely pleased with the customer service here. I bought a Microsoft Surface tablet from them a few weeks ago. I was sooooo excited. I Went home right away and set it all up. It took me about 3 hours. When I was all finished I started typing using the keyboard. The tablet was on my lap when the screen fell down onto the keyboard. When I pulled it back up it wasn't working properly anymore. I was sick to my stomach when I saw this happen. Considering I just paid $300 for my tablet not even 24 hours ago. When I brought it in the next day they were very nice and even exchanged it for me with no problems because they had another tablet of the same kind in stock. I was so impressed with the service there I just had to write a review on it. Thank you Pawn America. read more

They buy for cheap and sell it for almost retail price..when pawn america first open there price were great now they just jack up expensive. Found a game they were selling for $100 went to go talk to them why so high of a price. They said "because it said it in amazon" look it up and show them uh no no where to be found on amazon for that price...plus accused me of stealing. When they didnt check all the camera. Police followed me home question me said that at one of the camera angle look like i took something when those two game that was in my jacket was the game I didn't wanna sell to them cause they gave me crappy offer. So i told the police that and ask if he check all the camera angle he said no. And he ask if i drove a gmc truck. C'mon im Asian i dont drive gmc trucks. He went back and called and didnt even say sorry or did pawn america said sorry. He just said "next time you shouldnt put your game in your pocket" uhh i deserve a apology. I was still looking around the store why go to my car and come back. 4 years ago now they still wouldnt buy my stuff cause supposedly i stold when it was proven not be stolen....hate pawn america and wouldnt even recommend it. They expensive. Old 2011 laptop for $400-$500 netbook with no charger still goes for $200 at there store plus macbook pro 2009-2010 with no charger and missing keyboard still goes for $500. read more

Prepare to wait, at the very least, 45 mins in this pawnshop. Everytime I've come here to either pawn or buy, there is never enough staff to process the long line of increasingly irrate customers. The staff that is present seem more intent ignoring you than actually helping you. I've never seen a business less interested in getting my money than this one! read more

We were there in the Appleton store today. The store was very dirty. There was no help to speak of. No one asked if you needed anything or if you needed help. After walking through and finding a couple items we go up to check out. There was only one check-out person and he chatted with a couple guys for about five minutes before checking us out. He takes my debit card, enters the number and THEN tells me they don't take American Express. I asked if there was an ATM and he told me around the corner. I go to the ATM and there is absolutely no money in it. He asked another person working the floor if they would put money in and he told the check-out to have another person do it because he didn't want to run back and see if the check had been cashed for the day to put money in. Piss poor way to run a business. I don't think I will ever go back there again. The one in Green Bay is just as bad. If you want my advice, don't waste your time. Prices are high, place is filthy and there is absolutely no customer service at al. read more
