Nimki is my restaurant in Providence. Located inside the Courtland Club (cool speakeasy), Chef Nikhil Naiker crafts some of the most flavorful, locally sourced meals you'll ever taste. The menu changes frequently to showcase fresh, seasonal ingredients, but the fried chicken sandwich (always go for spicy) is a staple you can't miss. Every dish is a celebration of bold flavors and thoughtful preparation. The fish dishes are especially standout--trust me, you won't regret trying them. The vibe is perfect for an early evening dinner, where you can fully immerse yourself in the ambiance and savor every bite. If you have a larger party, try to make a reservation. Pro Tips: - Follow them on Instagram to stay updated on the latest menu and any special events, like their BBQs or chef collaborations. - Come earlier in the evening for a more relaxed dining experience.

Nimki is serving some seriously delicious food out of Courtland Club. We attended the amazing Sunday Jazz event and was stunned by how great the food was. Chef Nikhil Naiker is blending Indian flavors and beloved favorites like fried chicken to create flavors you won't find anywhere else in New England. The food was vibrant and in your face in the best way possible. The curated cocktails set the bar high before receiving our food. The overall experience was great and I'll definitely be back. Keep an eye on this spot for your next outing in Providence for a chill night with amazing food and music.

Came for a casual date night with my partner because the menu looked very interesting. What I didn't know was how the menu and little restaurant are located inside the Courtland Club! Same location! I don't know if I'd consider it its own restaurant but here's my review. Ordered bar nuts~The bar snack had a variety of spices that were very pleasant and eaten with a small spoon. Also ordered the swordfish ceviche and it was very delicious and fresh. It had only 8 slices of fish and served in a tiny portion. Not shareable but the best dish to try. Our main dish was the lentils with a side of rice, and it was amazing! It was a curry, lentil cushion dish with pieces of mushroom~ my favorite and very filling entre. My partner ordered the lamb, and it was very soft and good and hearty. We ordered both deserts, and each was unique and tasty. I was a big fan of the tiramisu because it had bitter coffee jello topped with chocolate ice cream. The maple ice cream was good and but not as interesting as my tiramisu. Service was good, just a tad slow. The dishes took a while to get to the table and I can only assume it's because the kitchen is so small. Do try this place, but expect a wait and possibly a searing wait too. This place feels like a chill place to lounge and chat with a friend, because the food takes a while to get to you~

"Hey Foo, good to see you, have a seat." said Antonio. "Menu please?" "Of course. Specials are on the board, what will you have for a drink?" "I'll have a Canadian Club Manhattan." "How about Rittenhouse Foo?" "Sounds good Antonio, best bartender but how about Crown Royal?" "Foo, relax, I'll make you a nice drink," said Antonio. "Hey Antonio," Foo says, "I'll have a cheeseburger, medium, no bacon, fries is okay." As Antonio put down my Manhattan I told him that I was at 22 Bowen's and ran into Chef Eric. Antonio said Eric invented the grind ratios for the Slow Rhode burgers. "Well, Foo believes you best burger in city. Not in state but in city," said Foo. Antonio said, "Who best in state?" Foo, me, the reviewer of the review leaned back in the barstool, looked around the funky ambiance space, and stroked the long scraggly beard Foo tries to grow and said, "I believe best burger is Clarke Cooke House on English muffin with the Gorgonzola." "Really?" "Yes, but one that beats that is Newport Creamery Big Beef patty melt!" "Yo homes, that's a tasty burger," said Antonio. "Righteous!" Foo yelled while giving daps and hugs to Antonio all while jamming a massive stack of grat, all tens, into his pocket and yelling, "My name Foo!" and disturbing the nice people at Slow Rhode. Foo loves Slow Rhode.

Luckily, there was a perfect corner of the bar had just opened & we grabbed the seats. The atmosphere was convivial, upbeat & super comfortable, despite the crowd. Service was fabulously friendly & competent - the bartender handling the packed house with ease. We decided to go with an array of small plates to try as much as possible. The menu it designed perfectly for grazing & the prices are super reasonable! The selections are definitely on the comfort-food side with a strong southern hint. Ingredients are often locally sourced - something I greatly admire. We began with the a small plate of Pimento Cheese Toast. Just a few bites each but a nice start. Duck Drumettes. The horseradish-y white sauce was delectable! Even my non-duck loving partner was blown away. I was happy to hear that the salad was available in a half portion - enough for a light fresh break to our heavy selections. Next came a much heavier choice - the gravy fries with duck confit. We left off the cheese, but it wasn't missed at all. These were decadent, delicious & super filling! Next time we'd get a half portion - that would have been plenty! Our final dish was the Shrimp & Grits, but we'd already filled up on the other dishes & ended up asking for this to go. Even reheated, it was a perfectly delicious accompaniment to our brunch the next day! I'd be tempted to order this to-go again for just that purpose. While we didn't imbibe, the cocktail list looked wonderful & the bar was very well stocked. We did enjoy a nice selection from the interesting beer list. The sandwiches that we saw come out looked delicious & huge! We'd love to try them as well. We will be back - this is certainly a new favorite for us!

KelCar = Former GottaQue…read more Sidenote: I did not like GottaQue (we ordered once during Covid to support businesses in our own community and they messed up the whole order, it took way longer than we were told and we paid a decent amount of money for a bad meal.) But we are back! We have a coupon for the RI Food Fight- Wings competition. We enter the small store front. Seating for about 7 with a bench for waiting. This place is really supporting take-out. This one a one Pitmaster Mike show. He was very nice and informative. He informed us that the wings are naked so he sent us home with 4 different types of sauces. Not just a little to go sauce container, like a small size deli container he filled half way worth of sauce! Although I was not a fan of any of the sauces really. The wings were cooked to perfection (smoked just right my husband declared) and the coupon was for 6 wings- Mike went above and beyond! I like my wings to have a little salt or an awesome sauce- that's where these wings fell a little flat for me. They were good but not my jam. I also ordered a side of mac and cheese. It was $7.99 and it was a very small serving- that small deli container. It was congealed. Maybe a liquid cheese and shredded cheese that didn't fully melt? I am not quite sure what's happening here but i did not like it. I have to say Mike was nice, it didn't take long for the order but there was a whole lot of sold out food (cole slaw, cornbread, brisket, etc...) and the kitchen seamed unorganized and maybe a little sleazy? I don't want to call it dirty but I wasn't impressed with how it looked.

When I presented my @rifoodfights coupon he took the time to explain that, for the competition, he serves up the wings naked, with the sauces on the side, so you can try them all. He also is very proud of the plain wings, and he should be. They are delicious plain. Smoked and then deep fried to 18o degrees, they have a smoky flavor and a nice crisp skin. They are contenders in this competition without the sauce. The sauces the gave out were a buffacue, tiger sauce, house bbq and a mustard based sauce. All were fantastic but the tiger sauce was my favorite. It was horseradish based - the same sauce the put on their roast beef sandwich- and was a standout. When most hot sauce is pepper based, the horseradish was such a surprise in flavor. Do your self a favor and go and see Mike. You won't be disappointed. (He gave me a sample of the roast beef and it was perfectly seasoned. I will be back to try the sandwich!)

RI Food Fight- Lord of the Wings 2025 Review:…read more First time ever at Wes'. I grew up hanging out with previous owners kids. The wing coupon brought me in. Off the beaten path, decent sized parking lot, inside is very modern. There were only like 2 people working on a Saturday night at 5pm. When we walked in we had to wait to be seated for 5 mins but the place was pretty empty?? Once seated, we placed an order for drinks. I went with a rum punch (it was advertised as moonshine but I asked for the liquor switch) and my husband eyes a posted $5 margarita sign. The drink was more liquor than punch. I like it the opposite way. My husband had no problems with the margarita's or the deal! The wings: we went boom boom sauce. It was a decent wing but the boom boom just didn't do it for me. It's me- not the sauce! Just not my jam. He told us it was like a Cajun ranch. I didn't find anything Cajun about it. We ordered mozzarella sticks (I don't think you can really mess up a mozzarella stick.), (2) cornbread's and 1 rib. The cornbread was ok. (With winging it, I have had a lot of cornbread around the state recently.) The rib was large! Overall this place is ok. My husband and I chatted as we pulled out: if we were in the area again we would hit it up again!

We used to frequent Wes' back in the 1990's, but hadn't been there since it reopened. We spoke with the owner today (who was also our server), and learned it recently changed hands again, so maybe the poor reviews were under the previous ownership. Our experience today was awesome as we really enjoyed the environment as well as the food. Wes's has its own parking lot, which is great since parking in Olneyville can be tough. The exterior of the building has been fixed up from the good old days, and when we went indoors, we were very impressed with how the interior has been renovated as well. New windows, new furniture, new bathrooms, and everything is spotlessly clean. Menu choices are great with fair pricing, and service was prompt with just the right amount of attentiveness. We were using our RI Food Fight sandwich coupons and were given three choices: pulled pork, fried chicken, or the All-American burger. We went with the pulled pork and the burger. Both were served on good rolls that didn't fall apart, and both were nice and big with plenty of meat. The burger had a delicious smokey taste and the pulled pork was tasty as well. We did not use any extra bbq sauce, but we did see a bottle of what looked to be house-made sauce on another table. In addition we split corn bread and sweet fried plantains and really enjoyed both sides. Wes' is still working on obtaining a liquor license (should be soon!), so we ordered sodas and were impressed by the large cups. We also checked out the arcade game area, which looked fun, and the additional seating room upstairs which includes a small stage. The new owner told us that they host karaoke and trivia, and this room looks perfect for these types of entertainment. We loved that the event space is separate from the main dining room as oftentimes it's tough to eat dinner and converse while other events are happening, and it looks like this won't be a problem at Wes'. We would like to wish the new owner lots of success - Thanks for bring Wes' back to life and we hope to return soon!

All of our food was delicious, the employees were super friendly and helpful, and the restaurant seating area was pleasant, attractive and very clean. We ordered a pulled pork sandwich, a pastrami sandwich and a half rack of baby back ribs. Both sandwiches were excellent, but the ribs really stole the show. They were well seasoned and so tasty, but better yet, they were extra, extra tender. We got two sauces on the side - rib juice sauce and the regular bbq sauce and I especially liked all of the herbs and seasonings in the rib juice. Both times, Chub's delivered in a big way. Pull up and you'll immediately spot their massive smokehouse on the side of the building, which is a converted trailer that means serious business. Parking is plentiful. Inside, the restaurant is warm, inviting, and spotlessly clean. The staff were genuinely helpful and professional on both visits, the kind of team that makes you feel like a regular even on your first stop. On the first visit I went with the Ghost Pepper Sauce on the wings. They were crispy, perfectly smoked, and surprisingly approachable heat-wise. Not a face-melter, just beautifully layered flavor. I paired them with the Sweet Pete's Pulled Pork Sandwich and Grandma's Baked Beans, and honestly? Both were fantastic. The pulled pork was tender and perfectly smoked, and those baked beans had that homestyle depth that's nearly impossible to fake. On visit two I ordered the Blue Pig Sandwich and a half pound of Brisket. The sandwich was great, but the real showstopper was the Brisket. It was super moist with a bold peppery rub that had clearly been earned through hours of patience and smoke. This is the kind of brisket that makes you go quiet mid-bite. Chub's Blue Pig BBQ is, without question, one of the best, if not the best, BBQ spots I've hit in all of New England. It's the real deal: proper smoke, serious technique, and food that genuinely delivers on its reputation. I'll absolutely be back, and I'm bringing reinforcements next time. Highly, enthusiastically recommended.
