Located inside an Inn. Always a charming place. Has a southern charm feel to me. Love to sit outside in the warmer weather but You'll get bitten by mosquitoes so don't make my a mistake, Don't wear shorts. The food is very good. Pork chop special is very good but better to get sauce on the side bc it's a bit sweet. Farfalle pesto pasta dish is very lovely. The halibut is good but not consistent, today was overcooked. Service is friendly, but I asked for hot pepper flakes for my pasta, asked 2x n I never got it. It's not cheap, it's a good meal. at least the seltzer water is free a $12 value. We went back to Jedediah Hawkins for our annual anniversary dinner (I realize that's redundant, but bear w me) Last year's visit was a disappointment. I'm so happy to say that this year was a total recovery, and then some. We counted five things that qualify as "best we've ever had" The Old Fashioned, best one ever (and I've had thousands) Beet salad: out of this world 5 Stars from my vegetarian wife Baked Clams : absolute sorcery. Burrata : with cranberries? Seriously? Yes! And a knockout Short Rib Ragu: different from anything I've ever had. Leans more towards a saurbraten profile. An amazing surprise Dessert was...eh. I'm not one to bash servers because I know and appreciate it's a tough job. Otherwise, I'd be bashing the service...nuff said. JH has definitely upped their game. Each menu item was chef curated and of the highest quality. there are many small dining rooms and a bar that are beautiful and special. they will not rush you here if you are going for special evening. DO NOT EAT HERE!!!! To make a long story short we arrived a few minutes before our reservation for 5 at 7:30, and were told that it would be a 15/20 minute wait so we ordered a drink at the bar After about 30 minutes we were still not sat so the host covered the first round of drinks and an appetizer. After an hour and a half we were starting to get irritated. We were finally seated and when we got in the dining room it was EMPTY. We ordered right away and it took another 30 minutes for our food to come out. When we got the bill, we were charged for the second round of drinks we ordered while we were waiting which I found to be ridiculous because we would've never ordered another round if we had been seated on time. The host tried to make up for it but this is completely unacceptable and ruined my bachelorette night. Not to mention we were so tired we couldn't even eat by the time we were served. We didn't get out of there until 10pm and were promptly sent an email that our reservation had been cancelled???? What an incredible evening! First driving up the driveway and seeing the gorgeous Inn, flowers and fountain set the tone for a romantic date night. The grounds and building are absolutely stunning. We sat outside to enjoy the weather and beautiful gardens. For appetizers we did the crab cakes and lamb. Both were absolutely delicious. The crab cakes were packed with crabmeat and not a lot of filler, which is always nice. Served with a delicious English tartar sauce and sriracha, the perfect combo. The lamb was cooked and seasoned perfectly and served over roasted beets, which really complimented the flavor. For dinner my husband got the NY strip and truffle fries. The steak was cooked the perfect medium, and was a gorgeous cut of steak. The fries were crispy and had a great truffle/parm ratio. And a HUGE portion! I wound up stealing a good amount. I got the halibut. Wow. What a beautiful dish! The Nage sauce is NEXT LEVEL delicious! Like a super silky lobster bisque. Everything should have this incredible sauce. Fish was cooked beautifully and the snap peas and tomatoes were so fresh. Our waitress was also attentive, friendly and helpful on recommendations. We loved her! The"salted" beats were inedible , the Caesar salad a flavorless soggy mess and the salmon was good but the slaw was over salted and inedible as well. This place is not to miss. My husband and I have come here two years in a row and both times have been spectacular. Everything is cooked to perfection with an exception to detail, the staff is incredibly professional and polite, and the inn has a beautiful history work researching. This is not a cheap meal but is definitely a place to go for a special night out. Since COVID, they have a beautifully outdoor patio, paperless menus, and strict mask policy. A must go if you're in the area! Jedediah Hawkins is a charming inn located in the Jamesport area in Long Island. We were staying in North Fork and visiting wineries in the area but this dinner may have been the highlight of the weekend. The solarium dining space is absolutely stunning on a warm summer day, with views of the outdoor area. The food and service were excellent and well worth the price. Guests are free to roam around in the outdoor space which includes a picturesque trellis tunnel covered in vines and some chairs on the lawn for after dinner chats and enjoying the view. We always wanted to try this restaurant and although there were some mixed reviews about the short menu, we took a drive from Jericho to experience it for ourselves. We arrived 30 minutes early and was seated right away. There is the Main a dining room (highly suggest asking to be seated in that room). We sat in the room to the right close to a fireplace. Very warm and cozy! The service was excellent and (Erica K) was very pleasant and attentive to provide the most enjoyable dinner. We ordered drinks which were really nicely prepared. My wife had a Blood Orange Margarita and I had a local Beer. The menu selection was small but very interesting. We decided to share the Roasted red & gold Beet Salad over arugula which was (Excellent) and the Crescent Farms Duck Wings ( to die for delicious) As a main dish we shared the Entree portion of Cacio e Pepe (best we ever had). Kudos to the Chef for preparing this delicious meal and his imagination of tasty appetizers and entrees. Exceptional! We were going to Grana with reservations for 6:30 but were told that we did not call in to confirm our reservation that we received an on line confirmation. They refused to seat us! To say the least we were flabbergasted! My wife immediately made a reservation on line at Jedediah Hawkins for 6:45. What a great dinner we had. Everything was exceptional from the appetizers to the dessert. The cocktails were very good and reasonably priced. The best part we were able to hear ourselves speak. First off the food here is top class and very well made from presentation to taste and portions. My only complaint is that the some of the servers here seem to be new and aren't always consistent in efficient service and our server even neglected to read us the specials which we weren't aware of until we heard another server describe them to another party. You also can't beat this location out east, this place has such a cozy and vintage atmosphere and during the late summer and fall months it's probably best to eat outdoors with the scenery and crickets outside etc. We were also very surprised at the reasonable prices for the high quality food we got and that also pleased us. One last tidbit I want to share is the various options for dining they have; the main indoor dining room (great when it's cooler and winter time), the solarium, speakeasy (sadly closed when we went in mid August 2023 due to staff shortages) and the outdoor patio area which we sat in which was great! read more

Jedediah Hawkins Inn is such a beautiful and historic spot on the North Shore of Long Island. The structure itself was built over 150 years ago. When you first pull in, its such a grandiose and elegant display that is rich in Long Island history. My wife & I park by the vineyard. While we're waiting for our table, we step into the parlor and order drinks. I start with an amazing burnt old fashioned bourbon and my wife orders a Bellini. The visual I'm seeing is amazing, the architecture is magnificent. We're seated and are given menus. Wow. We started with the roasted beet salad with goat cheese and the crescent farms duck wings. The wings were cooked perfectly and roasted beets tasted like candy, they were so sweet. My wife and I both had the Australian lamb chops. Such a treat to have such a simple yet, tasty meal. I love lamb anything, this dish was prepared very elegantly, it was a perfect meal for a perfect night. Oh and there is the speakeasy downstairs? Picture walking downstairs in your parents finished basement. It's dark, they have a bar with a buncha beer taps and a big table. I'd rather be outside on a nice day drinking wine than be in a basement. If you're on the North Fork of Long Island, You owe it to yourself to dine at Jedediah Hawkins Inn. read more
