    Dusk-to-Dawn Professional Pet Sitting

When I moved to Cedar Falls, I worried about finding a responsible, well-run pet sitting service…read moresince I will not board my dogs. Upon the recommendation of my vet, I gave Dawn at Dusk-to-Dawn a call. The first time her team watched my dogs, it went great. Very happy. The second time I used them, which included overnight and daytime visits I was ECSTATIC. She has a team of highly capable, engaged employees who spent the needed time and attention on my pampered pooches. The house always looks great when I get back and the minor chores like bringing in the mail and paper saved me a lot of legwork getting ready for vacation. But, wait....there's more. This time, I had a major airline fail and spent 28 hours traveling instead of 6. I was in a panic and needed another overnight stay by her sitter and I wasn't sure if I'd hear back in time to get on the next endless leg of my flight. Well, Dawn to the rescue! She got a sitter, sent her over on VERY SHORT NOTICE and my pooches were again well-cared for. Rarely does a business fully live up to my high standards - Dusk-to-Dawn does and I will never use any other service. Professional, responsive, and trustworthy. It doesn't get any better than that!

The front desk assured me they could do the style and asked me to provide a reference photo when dropping him off. I did exactly that, confirmed with them multiple times, and even told them to call me if they weren't able to do it. They reassured me it would be no issue. Fast forward to pick-up--I was absolutely horrified. The haircut was nothing like what I asked for. It looked like the groomer completely ignored the reference photo, and worst of all, they didn't even bother calling me to discuss alternatives before butchering my dog's fur! I've posted before-and-after photos, including the style I requested so you can see for yourself how much of a disaster this was. The amount of hair they chopped off is shocking. The haircut I initially requested which Aloha agreed to. I won't be returning for grooming services, and I do not recommend Aloha Pet Resort & Spa if you care about how your pet is groomed! P.S. The photos are not displayed in the proper order. The images of the dog being groomed is what Aloha agreed to make him look like, the images with long fur laying down is what he looked like prior, and the images of him standing with short fur is what Aloha gave me.

No frills; just a quiet farm where, if you'd like, you can have the dogs run around. The animals are verified for health before being allowed to board, so no need to worry about your loved ones getting sick while you're gone. The location is a little out of the way; you have to go down Sand Hill Trail, a gravel road, for a couple miles. But it's well worth the trip. Pick-up and drop-off during weekdays is before 7AM and 5-7 PM, which can be tough, but on the upside they are open Sundays 12-6PM (closed Saturday). The rates are great too, $8 per day (call to confirm); SO much better than a certain location on 580th that charged me $800 for a two weeks to board a dog and cat! Becky is a veterinarian, and her children are always there too. Wonderful people!

We've been taking our 2 1/2 year old lab/terrier mix to her for almost 2 years now. Charley LOVES going, and is exhausted when we pick her up. (And we LOVE that! She's a hyper 85 pound dog people!) We'll never take Charley anywhere else. The ranch is clean, is run efficiently, and is the perfect spot for our baby to spend a wknd. The rates are also completely reasonable! Try it out for yourself!

We care…read morevery much about our pets, want the best for them and are proactive with their health / vet care. Our family used another vet in town for over two decades, but they started to really decline. The vets wouldn't see patients anymore. Instead, unqualified "techs" pretending to be DVMs were doing all the exams, procedures, attempting to diagnose and treat "patients" - everything. We were paying for DVM care, but not getting it and our pets were painfully suffering the consequences. After many SERIOUS mistakes made by their "techs", that could have been disasterous-it became obvious that it was a matter of time before one of ours ended up seriously hurt, or WORSE. I was very worried about leaving that clinic after so many years of trusting them, but it was honestly the very BEST choice we could have made. Compassionate Care is absolutely awesome. They are responsive, attentive and the competency of the entire staff is clearly superior. One of our dogs had been suffering for years with ear infections and we had spent hundreds with the old vet clinic trying to get it cleared up - we were in every month with the same issue. Dr. K immediately identified the problem and for the first time in YEARS, that pooch is now happy, comfortable and has clean, HEALTHY ears - you can tell he has finally found relief. I just SOO wish I'd come here much, much sooner. Very happy with the CC team and we are all extremely appreciative of everything they do- and I would strongly recommend them.
