Dr. Zach Seyler appears to be running a drug scam for our pets. Originally I was offered a six or a one month supply of Heart Gard for my Yorkie. At that time the puppy was under the minimum weight of the medication - He prescribed, she was 3.6 lbs. I elected to receive only a one month supply to see the puppy's reaction to it prior to ordering the six month supply. Afterwards seeing that the puppy was doing fine with the medication I decided to follow the link -Killeen Veterinary Clinic- send to to make the purchase of the six month supply which would save me over Two Hundred dollars off the price they were selling it for there at the clinic! However, my order was refused due to DR. Zach Seyler Saying the dog was not at the proper weight for the medication requested - The exact same medication He prescribed! After calling the Clinic and receiving the -song and dance- that they had to ensure the Puppy had gained the weight required for the prescription, I took the puppy in for her final shots and weigh-in noting she had gained over a pound and now actually within the weight window for the medication -He originally prescribed. I was asked if I waned to purchase medication and I told them I would just buy it on line. However now they tell me I could only purchase one month at a time because they needed to weight the puppy every single month. That meant all the savings I would have received was taken from me and more because the purchase price for one pill at a time is much greater than the savings from the six month supply. That is not to mention the waste of my time and money running the puppy back and forth to their clinic for a weigh-in each month. But, they were all fine and dandy selling me the six month supply from their clinic at over Fifty dollars a pill! After all that there is the matter of DR. Seyler twisting my Yorkie's hind legs out of joint, explaining Yorkie's sometimes have problems with their hind legs, and in the same breath saying they have an operation to "fix" the problem. Personally I don't feel the need to over exercise the soft developing bones of a puppy possibly perpetuating what may or may not be a future problem. The second visit I deliberately ask the attending Veterinarian (a female) not to do that to the puppy's back legs And she did it anyway! They also provide boarding for cats with medical needs. Gabby is especially a wonderful vet tech. She goes above and beyond to care for my pet. Took my dog for his check up, recommended a cleaning and few extractions, Very unhappy, my dog had his teeth cleaned and teeth extracted. after a week my dog had a huge abscess on his left leg, life started going down hill, within 7 weeks, 8 visits, few thousand of dollars spent, all we kept getting was more antibiotics and more pain medication, to the point my dog wasn't eating good, no answers why my dog was deteriorating, after 7 weeks and trying to get answers they finally decided to refer us to a specialist. We took or dog to see another doctor because my dog was so weak he could barley walk without pain and not eating. Per that doctor said his quality of life is not good, we had no choice but to put him down. It was so heart breaking! How could this happen? Get a 2nd opinion if you're not getting any results and paying a lot of money. right away. Don't be too late like us. The worst part! Knowing my dog was in pain and life struggling. They never called to follow up or seem to be concerned after they referred me to a specialist. read more

This used to be my go to vet clinic until recently. I will never bring my dogs over there! I believed that my dog died because of neglect to care and do tests and dismissing my concerns. I told the vet on my follow up appointment that my dog was not doing well since the first appointment (which was about 8 days apart) She ignored my concerns and said that my dog is doing better even though I told her she wasn't! 2 days later my dog died! I brought my two fur babies into this establishment on 12/11/2023. When we were taken to the exam room, the assistant could not hear my concerns for tripping over herself gushing over one of my dogs. not paying any attention to my other dog, or me for that matter, the paying customer. When the vet came in i starting telling her what my concerns were. The animal that got fondled over, symptons were not serious. The ignored animal needed ex-rays for a possible heart condition. The vet person motioned to examine the other dog who got aggressive at which I suggested a muzzle for her protection. They both got irritated for having to resort to such extreme measures. When the tech approached the other dog and grabbed his leash, he just sat steadfast with me. The tech dropped the leash in a huff, left and came back with another plain leash, fashioned it into a noose, and commenced to drag the other dog toward the door for ex-rays. I won't mention what my first instinct was to witness the blatant disrespect for this animal and myself, but I mustered enough constraint to asked her not to choke my dog to death. My other dog is a black dog. You hear all the time how black fur babies are treated abominably shelters all over this country, for I adopted him at Austin Animal Shelter because he was in a choke leash when I walked up and saw his struggle to breathe and not choke to death. I've been going to this vet for years. I'm on my third baby. I've brought every last one to this vet and it's because I liked them. I had an appointment this morning to drop off my cat to be spayed & drop off hours were from 7:30 -8:00am. To my horror I woke up at 8:38 this morning literally screaming because I had missed dropping my baby off. I contacted the clinic at that time to explain why Sasha wasn't there. See, I had major cervical spinal surgery, and the recovery has been unpleasant, I don't get much sleep, it's greatly disturbed due to my pain, swelling & discomfort I'm lucky if u get 3 hrs of sleep! The first young lady I spoke to put me on hold. Another young lady came to the phone and asked if she could help. At that moment, I explained myself in grave detail why my baby wasn't there this morning. She then told me I'm sorry but you're gonna have to pay another $150 deposit for her to be spayed. I said ma'am "I just explained to you why she's not there and she's so rudely said and I quote "that's why we have policies in place." I said ma'am I did not miss this appointment on laughs and giggles. I said I explained my situation. Her rude ass said "you could've called, you could've left a voice message, tele message or voicemail". I said ma'am how can I do that when I just told you what happened? I told her I wasn't thinking about leaving a voicemail, tele message or anything else because i I wasn't doing well... needless to say she was not sympathetic or understanding at all!!!!! Now, I've been in customer service for over 30 years and yes, I know that there are rules/policies in place but I also know that sometimes "rules can be broken" depending on the situation! At that moment I was stressed out even more and I I said, I can clearly see that you're NOT sympathetic to my situation, and got off the phone with her. I will NEVER do business with them again. As a (former) Town & Country client, back in DEC 2011, I was referred to this place during the unfortunate event of having my Pit Bull requiring an emergency ultrasound (Town & Country does not perform ultrasounds and KVC is their sister unit). Dr. Buckley and his staff were very accommodating, knowledgeable and compassionate. I have been put through so much emotional turmoil with my beloved pet in trying to figure out what is going on with him, and the staff was very understanding. They asked very thorough questions to try and look at every possible angle. Dr. Buckley even invited us to come in the back while he was conducting the ultrasound, and explained everything to us in great detail while he was doing so. This experience alone has turned me into transferring to KVC instead. I was very impressed. My review will be separate for Town & Country. My Pit Bull has since passed away from end-stage carcinoma, and I currently have a Chihuahua that has been having issues with arthritis and/or patellar luxation. I was debating on bringing him back to Town & Country since his records are kept there, but being that I've had previous stellar service at KVC, I decided to come here instead. The portion of this review is for Dr. Smonko. He is equally impressive and knowledgeable as Dr. Buckley. He did a very thorough examination, and asked a lengthy amount of questions. I never felt rushed like I did at Town & Country. Again, we were taken in the back where Dr. Smonko showed us the X-ray film and explained everything in detail. Any questions or concerns, he would gladly answer. Being a huge dog lover, I feel like my dogs are my own children. KVC has earned my trust and respect. Today was one of the toughest days a pet owner could ever have. Today we said goodbye to one of our furbabies. Everything was fine until it was time to put in the IV line in our Flopsy's leg. The tech was done wrapping and she was about to flush the vein with saline. My wife has been very sad and crying all day, She was concerned when the tech was about to pump the saline in and my wife asked, "And that is?" The tech answered abruptly, "This is the flush. I will not -...(intimating she will not put in the anesthetic) I am a professional!" Really? I don't think so ma'am. You are rude and an asshole. You do not need to be the one dealing with people that are crushed and hurting. The rest of the staff and the Vet were more than understanding and helpful. BTW this our first visit here. This will be our last. We have three more puppies - at home and still looking for a veterinarian home. read more

I can't speak to their animal care, because I didn't make it past the waiting room. Staff did not respect social distancing, at least one was walking around eating food and not wearing a mask, and several others weren't wearing masks properly. If they can't take the health and safety of humans seriously during a worldwide pandemic, I can't trust them to take the health and safety of my dog seriously. I've lost enough humans this year. I am surprised to be giving a veterinarian's office five stars but I really was impressed by this place. I had to take in my cat for a pseudo emergency and they were more than happy to help even though they'd never seen her before. -The vet (Dr. Buckley) was kind and thorough. -They didn't do anything unnecessary. They could have really gotten me for blood work and other things but he was competent to know what he was looking at and that blookwork wouldn't change the treatment. -The medication fees were reasonable and they gave me only what we needed (steroid injection, antibiotic injection, and spray for her infected skin). -The office is located right off of 190 so it was easy to get to. -The office visit fee was $42 (should have asked about a military discount but I forgot). The entire visit was $153, which I'm not saying is something I was overly excited about paying but I have never been to a vet for urgent care and walked out with less than a $250 bill, so I was actually pleased with the price. -The absolute BEST thing about this visit was that Dr. Buckley made several visits into the exam room and did all the work himself. I am so used to vets taking a look, giving instructions to the vet tech, and then you never see them again-you never get to ask questions or clarify instructions. Dr. Buckley was there the whole time, which is very unusual now days. I have three other pets and will be taking them here for their vaccinations and any other needs they have. It has been years since I have actually trusted a vet to not hoodwink me into paying for unnecessary tests, products, and visits. This place gets my vote for sure! read more

Wow. I thought this was going to be another lame vet clinic, but I was incredibly impressed. The staff on the phone were so nice and pleasant. I brought my 3 month old German Shepherd in because the vet on Fort Hood were completely booked. It was very nice and actually smelt pretty good for the amount of animals that come through. The doctor was incredibly nice. He was so friendly with my dog and took the time to explain what was going on with him. He seemed genuinely caring. There was not one bad thing about my experience. Called another vet place immediately after hanging up and had a completely BETTER experience with them as they're taking care of my dog right this second. This is the 3rd vet to lie to me. I dont know if it's the CV panda going around that's making them try and scratch every dollar put of people, but I'm tired of spending $55 just to find out I'm going to be deceived. Called them to make an apt for a tumor on my dog. I know it's a tumor, shes old, it's pretty breed specific...and I've been to 2 other vets that have diagnosed it. She needs a lumpectomy or mastectomy, whatever the vet feels works best once they get her open. She had a surgery last year at my 1st vet, and the vet did a bang up job after I denied consent to all the things they "recommended" like heartworm tests, updated shots ( i do those myself), a biopsy, just a bunch of garbage that had nothing to do with the surgery. Took her to my 1st vet, and now this year all this garbage is mandatory. I left. 2nd vet did the same thing. And now this vet, the 3rd one, just did it. I. Called and told them these stories, and was assured by the lady on the phone that I could deny consent for anything I didnt feel the dog needed. Got there and the vet told me she needed bloodwork before surgery and said it was mandatory. I asked why, and she said because it was mandatory, like I was some kind of idiot. I again, and more emphatically asked why, and she said to see if she would survive being put under. I said if she dies on the table, she dies on the table. Vet again says its mandatory. I asked her if she pulled the records from my previous vet for the surgery she had last year. She thumbs thru the papers and finds no record of a blood test for THAT surgery, but now its mandatory. We used to come here all the time with all of our dogs for the last 4 years, but our last few visits have not been great. We have been seeing their morning vet the last 2 times and she isn't very friendly. I noticed all she wanted was $$. We spent almost $300 on testing to try and find out why my dog was coughing really bad. Almost $300 later and the answer was still IDK. She listened to his lungs and determined it was heart failure. She didn't spend ANY time in the room with us either. We wanted to talk to her and ask questions and she literally would never come in the room. She kept having the techs relay messages. I have been a client at this clinic for 37 years. I have always had a bad experience with the counter help. I expected very rude treatment both coming in and checking out. Once you got to the techs and the Vet., you were fine. Now when you go everyone treats you as scum of the earth if you don't want to do every single thing they recommend. A big shout-out to Dr. Jones at Killeen Vet Clinic. Our Catahoula, Trixie is a rescue and very, very fearful. We had taken her to another clinic in Harker Heights but the vet was more interested in talking about himself and spent very little time with our dog. Dr. Jones was thorough with her examination and after realizing how traumatized she was with having her nails clipped suggested having her put under anesthetic. They then clipped her toe nails as short as possible and after a short time our puppy-dog was back to normal. Dr. Jones also has an assistant, a young hispanic fellow, that must be a dog whisperer. He carefully body-hugged Trixie and whispered to her and you could visibly she her relax just a little. So thankful we found a clinic, a vet, and an assistant that cared so much for our pet. read more

I move to the Killen Vet clinic and Banfeild miss diagnosed my dog with Cancer when all he had was a bladder stone. PROS: Dr Buckley is a great Vet with a very honest bedside. CONS: Will needless to say me leaving Benfield was not pretty. So when I got my pets medical records they were not completely up to date. But the receptionist at the Killeen Vet Clinic was unable to understand that. She was unable to understand that you can actually have Heart Worm medication that you give to your pet once a month. She was unable to understand that as the owner you know that when you run out of pills you then go to the Vet Offices to get more. Unless she can see, THEY have given you pet a Heart Worm test, they cant sell you pills. Never Mind that the medical records show the dog had, had a test within the last year, and they could see the you have regularly been purchasing pills for your pets. Again: Its not rocket science your pet pills until they run out then you go get a refill..... read more

I took my dog to see Dr Jones on 3/1/2016 because she was limping. Dr. Jones did an x ray on my dog's hip and said she had arthritis which is likely since she is 10 and a German Shepherd. She also drew blood and gave her some medication. All of this for $417.18. When the dog didn't get any better, we took her to Aztec Vet on 3/23/2016 who also said she had arthritis and gave her some stupid Laser Therapy. What neither of these incapable doctors failed to notice was the dog had a wound on her foot and it had gotten infected. After taking her to a third vet, the vet did an xray of the dog's leg below the hip and found that the bone had literally been eaten away from infection. We have to euthanize her the day after tomorrow. When we took our dog to Dr. Jones, she was just starting to limp. Had she done an xray of something other than her hip, assuming that the dog was old and had to have arthritis, she may have actually found the problem before the dog suffered excruciating pain and ultimately would lose her life. My dog is a very special dog. You see, she is a service dog for one of my adoptive children who suffers night terrors and the dog has been trained to handle these events. Now, I must explain to a traumatized child that her hero and best friend won't be with her any longer because of the inadequate care provided at Killeen Vet. Thanks a lot and shame on you. read more

My dogs have been under the care of this clinic for the past 12 years. We are relocating and I am hopeful that I can find another Veterinary clinic that is as good. Two of our dogs reached a ripe old age and have passed on. They both had conditions where they might have died much earlier were it not for the excellent care that Doctor Jones gave them, including surgeries. We now have two other dogs that have received the same quality care. We are sad to leave such a great clinic, but, wanted to leave a parting thought about how great they have been for us and our pets. read more

This was a great place to board my dog for $17 a night. Now they changed their price to $26 a night for my dogs weight. That is a 50% increase. The facility is the same without any makeovers and they increased the rates. It is now unaffordable for me to board my dog. They have lost my business and I'm sure I won't be the only one. read more

I took my 8 yr. old basset hound, Baxter, to this clinic for a skin irritation. They took him back to trim his nails. Then the vet doctor took samples from lymph nodes in front and back. The next thing I know, he tells me my Baxter has lymphoma throughout his body and that he would not live much longer. He put him on pain meds, steroids and antibiotics. 5 days later, Baxter is blind, doesn't eat, doesn't sleep well. WTF. What did you do to him. Now I have to have him euthanized Tuesday and cremated. WTF? He was only 8 years old. Don't trust these people with your 4-legged loved ones. Something is not right. This should not happen. read more

I am extremely disappointed in Kileen Veterinary Clinic. My dog has had lymphoma and they told me that when it comes time to euthanize that they will be there no matter what. Today he was clearly not ok and it was time. I called and explained that my dogs breathing was labored and he was shaking all over and panting. He wouldnt eat or drink. They said there was nothing that could be done withought a 2 hr wait! I was clearly frantic and they were cheerful with me as they hung up the phone. No help. No suggestions. I took him to Aztec Vet and they took wonderful care of all of us. I called Killeen Veterinary Clinic to get all of our pets paperwork transferred to Aztec and they gladly transferred paperwork withought an apology. To say the least this day was hell and Killeen Veterinary Clinic made my last hours with my dog much harder than it should have been. read more

We adopted our first puppy in Killeen, while my husband was stationed at Ft Hood. We brought Denver in when he was 2 mos old and about 9 lbs. Dr. Buckley incorrectly guessed his adult weight....he assumed he'd be 45lbs...then at his check-up a week later guessed he'd be closer to 65 lbs. Denver is now, at 2.5 yo, a whopping 95lbs!!! And that's because at adoption, Denver was so malnourished and sickly (we got through a really bad flea infestation, and a terrible cold), that you'd assumed he'd become a smaller dog. But Dr. Buckley guided us along his development and treatment, that he became the healthy dog he is today. We've since moved from Killeen, but wish we could keep Dr. Buckley with us wherever we went - because he is a physician we trusted and greatly appreciated. And we haven't found one like him since. Staff is always very friendly but I have been disappointed with the wait times in the past- my apt was delayed because they took a walk in just before I arrived. I don't like that we are charged an exam fee for each vet that looks at your pet...maybe give us the option of forking over thirty something extra dollars. read more
