If you care about your animals, PLEASE do not board them here. They will be completely neglected and not cared for!! I feel so bad for my dogs and can't even imagine how mistreated they were. When we got home they acted like they hadn't gone outside to use the restroom since we dropped them off. This was our first and last time using this boarder! Our pups stayed here for three nights total. When we dropped them off the staff was nice and welcoming and the facility itself was clean. In addition to the boarding we asked for their nails to be trimmed and to charge us extra for the Sunday morning pick up. I called the 2nd night to check in on the puppies and they said everything was going great and that our pups were amazing. Today, I walk in to pick up my dogs and I was mortified. The woman at the front desk was talking about how one of my dogs got diarrhea but it wasn't too bad and she was fine. They ring me up to pay for the stay BEFORE bringing my dogs to me. When they bring my first dog out, her butt is caked with poop and they are laughing?!? They let her just sit in her own filth!! The audacity to bring her out to me in that condition and thinking it's funny or cute is sickening. My husband had to take her back into THEIR bathing facility and wash her his damn self!!!! AND THEIR NAILS DIDN'T GET TRIMMED! I wish I hadn't even tipped. I sure as HELL wouldn't have tipped that much had I seen my dogs first. read more

Hansy and her business are top notch. I've taken my golden retriever here since her first groom 2 years ago. The staff is so welcoming, accommodating, and comforting. As a golden retriever owner, grooming can be scary due to horror stories on cuts. I have never had a problem here! We boarded our 5 dogs at Barking Oaks Pet Resort last October. I am finally adding my review. Better late than never, right? We had an awesome experience with our dogs there. Hansy, the owner, gave me a tour of the entire facility when I inquired about boarding and prices. The facility is so clean and state of the art! All dogs have private rooms and seemed calm and content. My dogs were very well taken care of and we definitely will board them at Barking Oaks again. The entire staff was friendly and helpful and attentive to our dogs. If you are looking for a great place to board your dogs, look no further!!!! read more

Do not use this place. The owner is unprofessional and rude. She will make you wait to pickup your dogs and treat you like a second class citizen. The inside of the store is dirty and cluttered. I can only imagine what the rest of the place looks like in the back. We will never use them again. I do not recommend taking your pets here. I would give them zero stars if possible. read more

My family is very grateful to Barking Oaks, even if we're not going to be able to be regular customers. During some holiday travel, my father had a medical emergency. We had our dogs in the car, so we quickly needed a safe place we trust to keep our dogs. Based upon Yelp reviews, plus the advice of a local business owner, we chose Barking Oaks. Our dogs were understandably nervous and confused, and we were also emotional, but the staff here put us all at ease. They kept all three dogs in an area by themselves and worked to ensure they were comfortable while we waited for more family to arrive and take them safely home. It was a stressful situation, but BO made a tremendous difference. Thank you. Incidentally, my father is doing well, and we were back on the road the next day. Thanks again. read more

What a bad experience. My two dogs couldn't get out of there fast enough. When they told me they peed on their blankets I knew something wasn't right. When we got home they both pooped in the front yard and then went right to their water dishes when we got inside. We proceeded to take them outside where they both pooped again. We let them run in our field and they acted like they hadn't had exercise. Over the next couple of hours they proceeded to poop again and again. I think they went at least eight times in the course of three hours. This isn't right! So, when they said they peed on their blankets it was clear that they didn't get outside enough. The whole day after we picked them up they were sleeping and not acting normal. Obviously they were neglected. They were traumatized!! As a pet owner this makes me very upset. We will never go here again. First and last!!!!!! read more

My dog has attended doggie day care it is clean and smells fine. The problem is I have picked up my pup at odd hours and all the dogs were locked in their kennels.I was told upon signing up that they wold only be kenneled when their worker went to lunch and the time period was two hours. I picked up at eleven in the morning and three and both times they were kenneled.To be fair I have also gone to pick up and the dogs were out in the fenced yard with the staff. read more

They are not there just to cut your dogs hair. The actually care about your dog. I called needed a haircut after my dog stayed at another boarding spot. My dog came back nasty with poop matted in his fur. Barking Oaks found a way to get my dog in because they cared. I will never take my dog anywhere else other than Barking Oaks! read more

This place has no business in the boarding business. I took my Great Dane there to be boarded and was supposed to get the bath and the works before picking him up. I had boarded him here before and the bath only happened last time because I was the one that basically gave him a bath. So I go to pick him up this time and they proceed to tell me that he hasn't received his bath due to his aggressiveness.My dog has never bitten, barked, or growled at anyone EVER. After fighting and arguing with the owner and the so called groomer assistant I asked to just run my card and give me my dog. Still arguing with the owner which I will say is very unprofessional I get to my dog and before I could grab him he shoots out the door trying to get out of there. We get home and he gets out of the truck and straight to the grass. My dog peed like he hasn't been let out in a couple days. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE A LARGE BREED!! They don't know how to take care of them and they are not equipped to groom or any hygiene for that matter of large breed. They didn't even clip his nails. Terrible place and the only one who is a decent human being is the lady at the front. read more

I absolutely love Barking Oaks. I have an American Bully who is full of energy along with some anxiety issues, so receiving boarding or grooming services is very hard for him and pretty much gets denied everywhere but not at Barking Oats! The staff are amazing with him and will even send me pictures to ensure they have full control of him which lowers my worries. Definitely would recommend them. read more

I've had nothing but great things from Barking Oaks!!! They always take care of my dog great and treat me like family. I came in early to get my dog Stella and she hadn't had her bath yet and so they gave me a free bath and spa the next time! The owners wife is so nice and has givin my daughter 2 of her handmade bows. It's great to see ppl are so nice and caring still. They love the dogs and have such a great place for all of them to play and run. My dog is a mastiff and is under a year old and full of energy. They let her play with the other dogs and don't even charge me for the play time. Now that's love. I would recommend this place to anyone. All my friends take their dogs there. Your Dog will most likely be abused if you are having it trained by Barking Oaks. I will NEVER use this company again. I brought my dog in for a simple nail trimming. My dog is dog reactive and this was explained to Hansey and her staff several times prior to our arrival. I was assured that we would be accommodated. The staff on the phone quoted us at $8, and said they would do it in the front really quick and have us on our way. We have been training our dog for months with other dogs to get her to be able to control herself around other dogs. She has shown great progress although slow. WE ARE TOTALLY AGAINST ANY FORM OF PUNISHMENT with the exception of "time-out" in the bathroom. We do not hit our dog, we do not use any form of collar that chokes, shocks, or spikes. We reward good behavior with praise and treats, and we use time-out in cases that require more severe corrections. Our dog is well behaved, obedient, and playful with our small children, and she is a huge people person. I called the number for Snippers to get ahold of them. Apparently Barking Oaks bought out Snippers. No one informed me of this on the phone when giving me directions to get there. I arrived at Snippers and the place looked abandoned, because it is. I called again at that point and they answered Barking Oaks. I had to check my phone to make sure I dialed the number correctly. On our arrival, there were dogs in the front, which is normal, it is a dog place. However when I informed them I would wait for the dogs to be taken in the back so we could do the nail trimming, I was told "oh, she'll be fine just bring her in." No matter what was said to Hansey, she just argued that my dog would be fine and to go ahead and bring her in. Reluctantly I brought her in, and as I knew she would, my dog began lunging and panicking until Hansey finally took the other dog to the back. If this was not enough, Hansey then came to get my dog to take her to the back where all the other dogs are. I reminded Hansey that my dog is reactive and that would be a bad idea even though the other dogs were caged. Hansey then reassured me that it would be just fine, that she is a professional and would be able to handle it and that she was totally against the negative re-enforcement and punishment methods of training. At that moment, I felt that perhaps she could show us something new and I allowed her to take us into the back to perform the nail trimming. THE FIRST THING SHE DOES IS PUT A CHOKE COLLAR ON HER. No matter what I said to Hansey at this point, she only replied with things like "Let me show you this..." as if the months of training we have been doing with our dog hadn't shown us anything. I reiterated many times that I was ready to leave and that this form of treatment was unacceptable, and Hansey only continued to use my dog to "show" me how reactive she is around other dogs, and PUNISH her with the choke collar. She took several phone calls in the middle of "showing" me all of these things. (Rude). She yelled constantly at the dogs, I mean yelled. Like loud shouting yelled. She even bullied one of her other customers there into walking her dog past my dog, just to "show" her other customer what dog aggressive is. Here are some of the things she said to me or that she said to other staff members: "Just let that dog out so I can show you what this dog does because she is dog aggressive." -Said to a staff member. Our dog proceeded to panic and lunge at the other dog. "You can't feed dogs unless they are doing what you want them to do, it's a survival thing, they get to a point where they have to do what you want them to do in order to survive." -Hansey's advice on how to properly train our dog. "I recommend using a shock collar or spike collar on your dog, those might not even be enough to stop her from reacting like that around other dogs." -Hansey I don't understand how people do business with this place more than once. If you have your dog in their "hotel" and you care about your furry family member, I would recommend that you find another place to put up your pet. No doubt she is "training" your dog while it is there. read more

Saw their Facebook page and wanted to give this doggie spa a try... brought two of my babies here and they did a good job, the facility was very clean, and the front room had pets Shampoo, conditioner, sprays and tons of outfits. My dogs were happy when I came to pick them up and they loved their groomer! Will be coming back! read more

They were the only people who were able to accommodate my dog during days that fell within a high season. When I dropped him off, one of the owners was present. He was very nice and walked me through the whole place. I felt confident that my dog was going to be very well taken care of there. Since I was not a member, I was charged the nonmember price that would be paid for a large dog. My dog is 37 lbs. To me a large dog is from 50 lbs and up. I also agreed to pay the evaluation fee so he would be able to participate in all activities, if he passed. My problem with this facility is that I waited all three days for the updates, with pictures, promised by the owner. The day I picked him up I noticed that he gained weight. Even my mom noticed it. Not a lot, but enough to see a difference. It made me wonder if he was only taken out for potty breaks and back to his kennel during the days he stayed. :/ read more

The owner only hires top notch people and has no tolerance for employees that don't meet her high standards, which I truly appreciate! Very unorganized. I am just not someone who can overlook that. Unfortunately, I will not be a returning customer. I like to walk in somewhere and feel that our previous conversation was documented (ex: number of boarding days, what type, etc.) It was like I had never even reserved boarding for my dog and had to have the same conversation over again versus just confirming what was reserved over a month ago. Also at pick up, no one was there to operate the computers so they had to call me to get payment later. I also noticed later I was missing one of the bowls I had sent with my dog. read more

I have used Barking Oaks various times for boarding and grooming. At first, the owner was nice, of course being a new customer, never a complaint. Then suddenly a guy began to help run the desk and complaints began. During one of my pickups, I had to wait over 15 mins for dog to be rushed groomed after her boarding, which was scheduled, and on top of that the job was incomplete, with the excuse of her being too hyper. They still charged me the total of a full groom and mentioned how it would have been a lot more if service had been rendered elsewhere. Both where unprofessional and loud infront of other clients simply justifying how it would be so much more expensive in some other "pet resort". This was quite embarassing. Regardless of the outdoor "SPACE", all dogs are kept locked in cage regardless. I noticed my pup arrives home without voice, and always thirsty. That started giving me doubts. Last time, which will be the LAST time I ever go to this place, my pup was as THIRSTY as ever! I had never witnessed her drink so much water so desperately, I refilled it TWICE and she kept drinking nonstop for almost 4 mins! NOTICE PLEASE how the Pool is always green and yucky... no matter the season. DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE! I truly believe "behind the scenes" dogs arent being given the attention they need and are subject to being NEGLECTED at this place! read more
