They don't communicate with residents are even each other. They are constantly late for appointments if they even show up at all, they don't respond to phone calls, emails or requests. I was never informed of all the great programs, employment opportunities and classes they brag about online. If you are going to live in one of their units I would definitely suggest saving all of your rent receipts because they're constantly losing rent checks or not entering it into the computer. I was overcharged rent on three separate occasions and never credited back the amount I was owed in the computer so they tried to say that I owed rent from years prior, even when having a rent receipt from their office signed by them. They charge everyone for a mandatory "carpet cleaning" fee when they never clean the carpets or replace them. They constantly have you put different dates on paperwork when signing and they never get it right the first time. A lot of the management is very rude especially Janet rainwater. I've heard her tell people that they can go back to "living in their car" or "can be homeless again". They know that people living in housing hope units have nowhere else to go and they take advantage of that fact and abuse it. There is a rare few people working for them that do care but for the most part they're incompetent and to say management is a shit show is a great understatement.

The director ELIZABETH DURAND so unjustly barred my wife and I from benefiting from our communities generous donations I have been permanently disabled since 2010 and had major surgery 3 weeks ago. My wife and I live on my small SSDI income. We depend on the  foodbank to supplement our monthly needs for nutrition. On 2/9/2022 we were parked alongside the park ( public parking area ) where everyone who arrives prior to the opening of the food bank parks. Mrs. Durand walked over to my vehicle and requested i park elsewhere until 2:30 pm as she has 140 volunteers that needed the spots.  I politely listened to mrs. Durand and she walked away. I decided that since i was in public parking and the were over 15 open spots for anyone else who needed them ( that I have never seen occupied) that I would remain there.  When lining up for food mrs. Durand came to my car window very upset I didn't do as told by her. I stated that I was parked legally and wanted no confrontation and just to get our food as we have weekly for 5 months. Mrs  Durand stated that it "irked her" that we didn't do as told even though it was clear to all that we were peacefully parked legally and never once were confrontational with mrs  Durand.  Mrs. Durand called me this morning to tell us that we were no longer welcome due to our prior conversation with her.  When going here I highly suggest you dont stand up for yourself to this director. Elizabeth Durand. Weather you are in the right or not, if you do not "do as your told" you will be denied any further help. It makes me sad that one person can deny food to the needy because of their perceived sense of power over whom she feels is weaker and has no voice.

They have put a lot of thought into providing the best care for dogs; music in the kennel room, private rooms for dogs that need them, prioritizing special needs dogs getting into foster homes and out of the kennel environment They even go above and beyond by spending time training dogs and puppies in their agility room. Their social media pages follow a few of the same dogs which just shows the dedication the members at Homeward have to maximizing the amount of people to see their adoptable pups. The quality and the passion truly show at Homeward. I am grateful for my dog and the people that took such good care of him at Homeward when he was there.

I've been to several shelters in the past year to adopt and it's been up and down. I went here on a Saturday after work and brought home my fur ever baby girl. I'm a proud happy fur mom . This is the happiest day of my life . I cried so many tears of joy when I was able to adopt my new female dog. I named her Sasha. Previously known as Oldsmobile. Sasha is the absolute sweetest girl ever. Sasha is what my heart needed. As a puppy she is very smart. Introducing to crate has been fairly well. Eating wow this girl can eat, run, do sprints around the house, yard and is super excited. I am too lol. Potty training is going very well in the morning she wakes me up with kisses to say she has to go and stands by door we go out. We have a routine. Totally recommend Homeward Per adoption to everyone. You will never be disappointed. The accept donations from you if your pet has passed away, been surrendered or you just want to donate, food, toys, supplies for dogs and cats. We had the place to ourselves and spent an enjoyable hour taking in the surroundings and interpretive signs. The signs identify as well as speak of the traditional usage of the various plants by NW tribes along with the legends of the Coast Salish. There are a wealth of habitats and cultural perspectives represented here. Truly a haven for nature and humanity. The Cedar Cathedral has forever changed the way I view PNW forests. The gift shop is small but rich in literature and local art. The volunteers we met throughout the center were friendly and personally invested in the conservation work of the foundation. Admission is reasonable and a membership option is available for those who wish to further support Adopt A Stream. Easy access to the center from the ferry and freeway. Convenient parking available free of charge. The only public restroom is a portable one in the neighboring park. There are picnic tables outside the gate.
