TLP is an amazing based in Texas, but they do have fosters and organizers all over the PNW. We live in Oregon and found John Munch on Petfinder when I put anywhere in the US. They transport them here super humanely and are such a great organization. They are 100% legit so I am unsure about all the negative comments, I am a real life person from Oregon who adopted a dog from them. Our coordinator who was based in Washington also connected one of our dogs siblings to use because at the time we didn't have social media and it's been so great to develop a friendship with them and for John and Elliot to be able to reconnect. The adoption prices has definitely gone up since March 2024 but not surprised as so has everything in this country. John is so well behaved and came that way and I attribute that to the amazing fosters these dogs have! Phenomenal rescue experience start to finish. Adoption coordinators are caring and responsive. The foster's description of the dog was exactly correct. Everything was very professional. The adoption process was quick. The adoption fees may be higher than some other places but just to transport animals like they do to get them to the adopters all over North America costs money. Adding on the medical care they provide to animals when needed, the clear support network for fosters, and the cost of veterinary care in general, the price makes sense. The rescue does really important work and involves people who truly seem to care. Plus, we got the most wonderful rescue dog. Would absolutely go through this rescue again for any future dogs. read more

Not only have a tried contacting them about a few pu9s, but then find t hey are asking 2-3 times more than any other rescue, INCLUDING those flying dogs to the states from places like Korea... $1000 for a mixed breed 4 year old? Got our new cat from them and he is the best! Although the adoption process took awhile, they were very thorough about making sure we were the right people for the pet, and I appreciate that. Yes, they are a bit pricier than some local rescues, but the animals get all their shots and necessary treatment before you get them so you know they are taken care of. read more

In early December I decided to expand my family and began my search for the right dog for us. Personality, already housebroken, good with kids and over all gentle disposition is what I was looking for. I read through several dog profiles and there was one that stood out among the crowd. I submitted my interest for adoption, along with completing my own profile for review. 48 hours later my girl Jewels and I are a family! She is living up to everything I had hoped for in a dog for my house. Jewels is incredibly smart, strong and gentle. She's an easy-going personality and wants nothing more than to smoosh herself onto my lap whenever I sit down. Reading other reviews stating that Three Little Pitties are overpriced rescue scam. I can't help but wonder if these people were denied adoption because THIS is not my experience. I have a dog that has been spayed, updated on vaccines, microchipped and she was fostered with a family to "learn the ropes". She was transported from Texas to Washington State combined, paying for this coverage should be in the $1,000's. My adoption fee for Jewels was significantly cheaper than paying for each of those services myself and I have a pet that was matched well with my family without sweat! I tacked on a small donation to support Three Little Pitties as I appreciate the work this rescue group has done to match me with Jewels. I'd recommend working with them as they did their due-diligence with our adoption and required me to provide references (which they did reach out and connected with each one) I completed an online application as well as a phone interview so the coordinator knew / understood what type of home my dog would be moving into. Be very leary of a business that doesn't supply a phone number or address. I've been trying to.contact a volunteer I guess you would call her in Vancouver Wa for 6 to 7 months now when my poodle mix was stolen in August 2024. I got a confession from "Shelly Jones " ( that's what she calls herself on the website and also goes by Jen Daley) boyfriend that he stole my dog and they even posted Anthony Furever Doggie on three little pitties website for $1000.00 along with false info on the dog. It said he was 1 year old ,he is 7 years old,said he weighed 13 lbs but weighs 6 lbs. This place is a complete SCAM. This same guy is responsible for the theft of 2 other dogs owned as well. I think they use this site to cover up what they really do for a living and that's Stalking people for they have stalked me for 6 years now. I have pictures of this lady's daughter posing with my poodle for proof of this allegation and the daughter is also who kept my first dog that was stolen. She calls him Duke but real name is Benji .. BEWARE OF THIS WEBSITE AND THE PROPLE RUNNING IT. Some of the pics on site looks like some the same people that live right in Portland or but site claims they live in Texas.. . read more

TLP partnered with the rescue we got our dog from in order to help with the transport piece. They transported our dog from Texas to the PNW, and I was impressed the entire time by the level of communication with us and the care given to the animals by the staff during their trip. We adopted our new puppy from Three Little Pitties 10 days ago, and we are thrilled with our gorgeous new baby. The whole adoption experience was so easy, and we feel like we are part of something bigger than just adopting a gorgeous little puppy. Three Little Pitties has a live FB feed of the boarding of the animals, so you get to see your dog or cat get checked in, seen by the vet one last time, and loaded onto the bus or semi that will bring them home to you. They were extremely organized and professional, and they're a big operation--100 dogs were loaded onto the semi that our pup was on. The semi arrived at our pickup location a few minutes early and we had our puppy and were on our way within about 30 minutes. He is so sweet...a good experience all the way around! read more

I've been watching their progress placing pups in wonderful homes. Some of the dogs have been traumatized, abused and literally saved from being thrown in the river. In the instances I've followed their progress they have worked hard and diligently to care for and place dogs and pups from a mean part of Texas. They also provided formula and meds for the foster home I'm familiar with that was willing to help but couldn't afford the care of additional special needs animals. I have no vested interest in this group other than as an observer for the past year. I'm curious about the negative review on Yelp. read more

I recognize that adopting an animal needs to be considered carefully. Always do your research. I did and I found a lovely puppy through Three Little Pitties. They spayed her and microchipped her. Also, she got the vaccines needed for her age. Once you consider all of that, their prices are super affordable. Also, I have a wonderful puppy who is healthy. The foster mom took great care of her and sent me pictures every few days of her development from birth. Three Little Pitties is an amazing all-breed dog and cat rescue organization that saves countless animals in Houston, TX every year. They work tirelessly to save these animals either from the streets or from kill-shelters, and then they connect with prospective pet owners in various states and then transport the pets safely to these states. (I believe the states include WA, OR, ID, CO). I adopted my first dog through Three Little Pitties. We sent in our application and heard back within 1-2 days. Then, we had a phone interview and were asked good questions about our dog experience, intentions, and hypothetical situations. They have a good but fair vetting process. We sent in many applications for other pets and were overlooked likely because we have never had a dog before. However, Three Little Pitties saw our potential as dog owners and we are so incredibly thankful for that. Our Philly arrived from TX healthy and we were given lots of detailed medical paperwork and some dewormer and diarrhea meds that she was on while she was with her foster. It's been 9 months now and this dog has changed our lives for the better. She had a second chance at life and was taken off the streets when she was just 2 months old. Had they not saved her, I don't know what would've happened, but I'm so glad we got connected through this amazing organization. Three Little Pitties adopters also get access to an exclusive Facebook group where we share updates on our pups and ask for advice with each other. I use the group as a way to keep in touch with Philly's litter and it's been such a blessing being able to meet up with her litter mates and watch them play every once in a while. This is such a wonderful rescue! They rescue cats and dogs from the streets that are emaciated, injured, and left to die. The rescue is foster based which means there is no shelter facility and animals rescued go to fosters before being adopted. There is a transport truck that travels bi-weekly to the Pacific Northwest and up the East Coast delivering animals to their newly adopted families or foster families. To adopt an animal from this rescue is a pretty extensive and personal process. We want to make sure that each animal is going to it's best forever home. Potential adopters are evaluated to find which animal and breed will best suit their family. We look at activity level, hobbies, home life, where you live and much more. This reduces the chance the animal will be returned. As far as pricing and fees to adopt an animal from this rescue they are a bit higher than your average rescue. The reason being is they are not government funded. They rely on funding from grants from sources like PETCOLove, community donors, business sponsorships, fundraising and anywhere else that will help support them. The animals rescued are all spayed or neutered. The adoption fees help pay for medical bills, treatment plans, behavioral evaluations and treatment. Some of the animals take more time than others to learn to trust again and that takes time and money too. At the end of the year this rescue doesn't break even when it comes to how much they spend vs collected adoption fees. Once an animal is adopted from our rescue that is the first day of the rest of their life and the best second chance they could ever ask for. This is a legit rescue who everyone involved puts their blood, sweat, and tears into helping these poor neglected, abused, abandoned animals live a better life and be happy companions as intended. Extremely unprofessional and unaware of most of the dogs they adopt out! Overpriced and and a scam!

The situation in Houston and Texas overall is devastating and heartbreaking but I would really discourage most people from adopting a dog that they haven't been able to meet in person yet and really spend time with. I did this and adopted through TLP and very quickly had to contact the rescue about returning the dog. It was an extremely heartbreaking situation. Some of this was absolutely my own fault about not being thorough enough about my own readiness and some of it was definitely the fault of the rescue and the foster family for not being transparent about issues that the dog starting presenting with. I sense that there are some really amazing people who work and foster for this rescue and that a lot can depend on the adoption coordinator you work with as well as the family fostering the pup you adopt. Ultimately I hope that sharing my experience helps other people as they navigate this and also that the rescue learns from the messiness of what I went through trying to adopt a dog from them. read more

We worked with Amanda, who is an amazing coordinator. This rescue is performing such a necessary service. We would, without a doubt, prefer to adopt from a rescue like Three Little Pitties than subsidize a puppy mill. I especially appreciate the extent to which they go to ensure they are placing in a forever home. While they have liberal rehoming policies, they correctly understand how the transition of adoption can impact a dog, and and they put they put these precious dogs first. I observed this dog & cat rescue is a scam. Hugely overpriced dogs. Very suspicious conduct. Be very careful dealing with them in any way.

I had a brief adoption experience with Three Little Pitties a few years ago regarding the adoption of a tiny kitten. I filled out the application and "passed" except for the individual "councelor" I was dealing with whose own experience involved her own cat having been killed by a coyote. Apparently she let her own experience affect her opinion re my ability to provide a "good and loving" home for a kitten despite the fact that I had had four separate experiences raising and loving cats as follows: 1) Flame point siamese 13 yrs 2) Flame point siamese 13 yrs 3) Domestic longhair 16 yrs 4) Domestic longhair 19 yrs. All were much loved, very much missed, and very well cared for!!! I don't think the "counselor" I dealt with was even old enough to have had any similar experience!!! After my brief experience with this org, I will never deal with them again. Will adopt my future kitty from a less "Nazi-like" source. I am only writing this negative review because no well intentioned adopter who can and has provided a loving home for rescue kitties over a long period of time should ever have to deal with some overzealous upstart "councelor" whose own cat got taken by coyotes on her own watch. While I am sad for her experience, I had nothing to do with that and I had my four plus cats safely and beautifully for 40+ years without any such incidence. Again, I will have cats in my future but will avoid Three Little Pitties like the plague in terms of adoption of any animal and based on my own experience, I would not recommend them to anyone! In my humble opinion, "councelors" like the one I dealt with are actually impeding the placement of deserving cats into loving homes!!! read more

This is a not for profit that treats anyyyyy type of medical situation. their adoption fees will be higher considering the type of medical situations they deal with. my dog came fully vaxed, neutered, vet checked and with a 6 month supply of heart worm preventative medicine. They CARE. they're here to make a difference. They don't euthanize if absolutely necessary for the dogs well being. My adoption coordinator Hailee still keeps in contact with me months later. this rescue is unlike any other. and the reason they only adopt out to the PNW is because that's where they have found the adopters to get the dogs out of the south. they can't deliver a dog to anywhere, that costs money and that's not where this rescue goes. 10/10 I talk about this rescue with everyone read more

the fact that we adopted our kitten and less than 6 months later the kitten is dying and had a abnormally large tummy at adoption. talked to Petco and apparently the whole liter has had issues and they've stopped doing business with them because most of the kittens they get from them have issues.
