My spouse enjoyed their selection of items however she used her American Express card and making her purchase of some dog treats and was provided a receipt with the price of the item and the tax charged. Later that month we received our American Express statement and noticed there was an additional higher amount (3.5%) charged by Pawsarotti's. I asked my spouse if there was a sign or was notified verbally there was going to be an additional 3.5% charge for using an American Express and my spouse stated no. If Pawsarotti wants to pass on a merchant fee cost to their customers, they can't do it the way they are doing it. Merchant fees being passed onto their customers is still considered business revenue for Income & Sales Tax purposes. Providing a cash register receipt that doesn't have what is actually being collected is at minimal negligent but probably fraudulent since the business records are not accurate. Enjoy your one time 3.5%, we will not be returning. read more

I made my first and last visit to this store. There is a woman named Karen (no joke) who treated me like I had the plague and like it was a privilege for me to shop in her store. I also tried to make an appointment to get my dog's nails trimmed and I was told I needed to wait at least a month or longer because they are too busy. When I went to pay for my dog food, I was told I had to pay 3% additional to use my credit card! Their prices are much much higher than other stores in the area, so I'll take my business to them. Thanks a lot Karen, you lost a potentially loyal customer. read more

It was my boyfriend's dog's birthday today and we wanted to make sure he had a special meal. I wanted him to have a birthday biscuit and sure enough this place popped up on yelp! S E R V I C E: We were welcomed in right away by the marketing manager and he helped us out with treats, and even told us about the birthday bags that our furry friends get when we sign up for their emails. We signed up right away and he gave us a good sized bag filled with tasty goodies, and a big toy!!! The manager said for us to come in anytime with our dogs so he can take picture of them to display inside the store, and told us they even offer nail trims for $10-12 on the weekends. S T O R E: Located next to a fish and chips restaurant, and parking is easy. Inside is pretty big and they have a variety of treats displayed; from sweets to dried meats to yogurt. They seemed to have a low supply of toys today, but they did have plenty of clothes and dog food towards the back. My Bassett hound, James Bond will only let this Pet store cut his nails. They are so gentle with him. He hates having his paws touch, but he doesn't even fight them. Sometime the wait line is long, but it worth the wait. I live in Modesto, and this is the only place I will let them touch him. read more

Review # 177 We have been coming to Pawsaratti for EEEEE-ONS! Eat at Betty's next door if you get a chance. The fish taco is outta this world. My 3 dogs and I love to cruise by Pawsaratti mainly to look for sweaters and jammies for my cold little min pin. Or, to search for a new blingin collar. Because a rescue dog wants nothing more than to be able to " pop that colla" with style !!! When we first get there, we go to the collar cabinet. Which they recently moved to the back room? I used to be up by the register. They carry fancy collars for the big and burley, the itty bitty, the stud and the princess. Impressively, they have a few African beaded collars and a Paco or 2. If you are unfamiliar with Paco out of Berkeley, let me just say, they are the best collars on the planet! After the collar selection is raided, we mosey on over to the sweaters. Today, we found these adorable green monkey pajamas that have faces like curious george. We then got a cookie from the owner/staff member who was very helpful to us. She loved on all 3 of my dogs and helped me my entire trip. We are grateful for her knowledge and expertise. My dog Cheryl played with the shop dog Murphy. All in all was a great day read more

My 2 wiener dogs said to award 4 Yelp stars to Pawsarotti's. This is a small family owned store that is clean, & well stocked with better quality merchandise. The prices are lower than the national big chain pet supply mega store. Mrs. Pawsarotti is a witty conversationalist. I just bought a dog harness. Paid 20% less than Petco price. While fitting the harness on the wiener dog, he was bribed to be good with a few special treats. After I paid for the harness, a free can of high-quality dog food was thrown for goodwill. This store is great, they have so many great choices For food, the good stuff. They have a huge assortment of toys, collars and anything pet related. Staff is very helpful and you can get samples of almost any food. Every Wednesday and Sunday they do doggie nail trimming and it's only $15, the hours are 12-4 sundays and Wednesday 12-3. This is my dog store. My pug and I have been coming here since I adopted him about a year ago, and I figured I'd finally yelp it. Don't know what the bad reviews are about; I've always loved this place! I come here for everything from food to poop bags. Great selection of natural products, including chews, food, and even shampoo, which is nice because we both have soap allergies. I even got his 49er jersey there, officially NFL licensed. Also got his sweater there, which is thick and high quality. My dog loves it there! The staff is nice, and he gets pets and treats every time. The best part is the customer service. They're very helpful and knowledgable. I started going here since it seemed to be the closest local pet store to my house at the time, but now I drive halfway across town just to go here specifically. I waited a few weeks to post this, as I didn't want it to be as knee-jerk, emotional response to the abominable treatment I received from the owner. As a 20+ year resident of Santa Rosa, I absolutely value the community and citizens of this city. As such, I try my best to exclusively use local businesses, as opposed their corporate competitors; however, there are limits to this... especially when the customer service is poor. Having a Great Dane, we go through lots of pet supplies, especially treats, top of the line dog food, durable toys, and cleaners. One product in particular caused our dog to be sick during every use. Upon doing some research, I found that it had been recalled on a couple of occasions, as it made other dogs sick. This was an $8 can of treat paste. Knowing a good amount about product liability and recalls, I took the receipt and the product back to this store. Incidentally, we were in need of a new bed and crate, so we decided to make a single trip of it. I presented the product to the owner, along with the receipt. I explained the situation and was immediately argued with and stonewalled. The owner said she couldn't get any refund from the supplier/manufacturer, so she wasn't giving us our money back. She was extremely rude in doing so, in light of the fact we were kind. The owner was simply cold and smug. Local business is about creating a customer experience that is inviting, brings value to the community, and most of all does the right thing. The owner of this establishment did none of these. She was very shortsighted in light of the fact the product was $8, we were prepared to spend well over $300 that day -- and likely thousands in the future -- and, most of all, this is a small town and Yelp is only one venue for expressing the experience we had in this store. Even though my dog's favorite toys and treats come from here, I will never step foot in this establishment again. The owner and staff is always so nice here! I love that they have a store kitty too. :) And a dog friendly policy. I like bringing my pooches here for special treats. Because they can wander around in here..*they* do a pretty good job picking out their favorite toys. Great selection of some of the more interesting dog toys. I got a tree with a bunch of squeaky squirrels in it...kind of like a puzzle for dogs. My dogs went crazy for it! They also have hands down the absolute BEST selection of beautiful dog collars here. Great dog clothes too. (OK I'll admit it...I dress my dog. He's a chihuahua...I can't help it.) I got him the funniest little general's coat here. He looks so fetching in it! :) On Sundays someone is there for a few hours for walk-in nail clipping! Score! And there's also a self-serve dog-bath. :) One last thing that rocks about this place...the discount rack out front. It's a great place to stock up on excellent quality dog food. A great little pet store with a wide range of toys and treats. This is where I go a couple times a year to pick up some cool stuff for my dog. I love that they always have fun baked dog cookies and donuts there. Yes, I realize my dog will eat anything and these things mainly appeal to the humans- but so what? I always get some Christmas-themed ones around the holidays. I bought my favorite (nicest looking and most durable) leash there as well as some really fun dog toys. Oh! For example- I got this REALLY obnoxious singing monkey toy there. My dog gets the biggest kick out of that thing. We love to shop local and were shopping here every week until we just decided it wasn't worth it anymore. The people are not friendly, only one woman there (to go to woman) who is super helpful with questions is friendly. There are always different people working and we haven't encountered event the slightest appreciation for our business. What made the decision final to never go back is when my husband and I were shopping together, he has a short goatee and was wearing a baseball cap. He was followed around the store the entire time we were in there. He went to get cat supplies and I went for the dog food. The woman did not make herself subtle and he felt extremely uncomfortable. Always very friendly and welcoming, and they have a great selection of all kinds of good (and healthy) food, treats, shampoos and other stuff for my dog and cat, while still maintaining that warm "neighborhood store" kind of atmosphere. I've been in several times now since it changed owners a few months ago and have gotten a lot of great recommendations for new products, including finally finding a treat that my dog, who is weird about food and doesn't like most things, actually gets excited about. Obviously they're pet friendly and even have a lady who comes in on Sundays so people can just drop in to get their dogs' nails trimmed quickly right there in the store. This is not the place to go looking for a new actual pet, but if you're looking for great products and friendly service for the pets you already have, I strongly recommend checking this place out! read more

My husband and I get our dog food from Pawsarottis for a few years now and we absolutely love this place. You just have to be a little careful getting to pawsarottis ( I suggest going to the light and taking that right not going into the small turning lane at the front of the parking area). Plus you can always find cute leashes, harnesses, etc that you wouldn't normally find at Petco. They also carry Sense-ible harnesses which are hard to find. Pawsarotti is the only pet supply in this area (or many other communties I've canvassed) that carries "My Perfect Pet" frozen patties for dogs and cats. This brand is one of the few tested by Naturopathic Vet, Dr. Chalmers, in Santa Rosa, and found to be free of toxins like Round-up herbicide. She calls this "clean food" and recommends it for all pets, but especially those who are exhibiting gastric distress. I follow her recommendation with excellent improvement in my dog's health. I now rely on Pawsarotti to continue making the special order that lets them carry this food. The staff at Pawsarotti has been very helpful in meeting my needs. read more
