Pawsitive Connections Inc is the best!!! In early 2015, my husband and I adopted 2 dogs from Pawsitive Connections Inc and we continue to be repeat adopters and a foster. My mom and friends have also adopted wonderful dogs from this hard working organization. Over the years, we have seen how this rescue gives so many dogs and puppies a second chance at life. Like many independent, nonprofit rescues they do an amazing job with very little support and resources. We have been so impressed by this rescue that we volunteer and donate as often as we can. There are so many things that we appreciate about this rescue. All their animals are spayed/neutered, micro chipped and had age appropriate vaccines prior to adoption. They are not breed/size/age specific and pull any dogs in need that they can safely house. Many of their large breed adult dogs spend months to many years with them. These large breed adult dogs take more resources to support. They also permanently support non adoptable dogs in their care who for either behavioral or medical reasons stay with the sanctuary. In addition to all this, they drive from Kingsburg to San Jose on Saturdays for a very long adoption event day. By traveling outside their immediate area they give the dogs and puppies a better chance of getting adopted. I hope more people take the time to support and thank Pawsitive Connections Inc for the great work they do.

Mom was in the…read morearea, squawking, but the neighborhood was all apartment complexes with outdoor cats aplenty. About 10 years ago I volunteered at a wildlife rehab facility, so I know the drill: if a baby bird is mobile, with parents nearby, and no predators in sight, leave it alone! This little dude wasn't using his legs, though, and the prospects for a safe corner were absolute shit. I called up the Fresno wildlife rehab center for advice - but, as expected, nobody was answering at 8pm on a Saturday night, and the answering machine message said, "Sorry, if it's not a raptor, we don't have enough volunteers to deal with it!" Ok, you're breaking my heart there, people. Next step, I looked at CA Fish & Wildlife's list of rehabbers, and discovered that Critter Creek was another facility in Fresno County. I called up their number, and miracle of miracles, a human answered! We talked over the situation, and the kind fellow passed along the name and number of a rehabber near me. Wee baby heron came home with me, and today is being handed over to a friend of Critter Creek! That all is a very long-winded way of saying, a million thanks to Critter Creek for answering their phone at odd hours and helping me find a solution. I'm glad there are wildlife allies in the area, and they're most definitely going on my donations list.

We were in an incredibly painful situation, our dog had bitten our daughter in the face twice and needed to be euthanized for her safety. We had adopted him from a shelter, and finding a compassionate, affordable option was not easy. Shelters were at capacity, the SPCA quoted over $500, and other vets were similarly overpriced. We called Northpoint, received a price over the phone, and made the 45-minute drive from out of town, already emotionally drained. What we experienced once we arrived made a devastating day so much worse. First, upon arrival we were informed, for the first time, that we needed to bring paperwork from the shelter where we adopted our dog. No one mentioned this when we called. Staff attempted to contact the shelter themselves, said they couldn't reach them, and then told us they might not be able to help us at all. My husband had to get back in the car, drive to the shelter to retrieve immunization records, and return, adding significant time and stress to an already traumatic experience. Second, when we were finally seen, they quoted us a higher price than what we were given over the phone. They also attempted to add an urgent care fee, claiming we had been given an urgent appointment, which was not true. My husband had to push back just to get them to reconsider. When he mentioned the original price we were quoted by phone, staff told him there was nothing they could do. We were grieving. We were exhausted. We had already driven nearly an hour and a half round trip for paperwork. And Northpoint chose that moment to add surprise fees and dismiss our concerns entirely. It felt like they knew we had no other options and used that against us. I wouldn't wish this experience on any family already going through the pain of losing a pet. If you're in a similar situation, I'd encourage you to get everything, pricing and requirements, in writing before you make the trip.

It's especially helpful if you live in a small apartment or don't want to deal with fur clogging your sink or tub at home. The tubs have latches to help keep your dog secure, which definitely helps if your pup isn't the most well-behaved during bath time (like mine). The facility provides soap, towels, and dryers, which is great, although I like that I can bring my own products since my dog has itchy skin. The staff has always been sweet and helpful, which makes the experience even better. They're welcoming, attentive, and happy to assist if you need anything. The stations make it easy to rinse and wash your dog without making a huge mess, and the whole process is much simpler than trying to do it at home. Even when my dog gets impatient by the rinse-and-dry stage, it's still far less stressful than bathing her in my apartment. After five years of coming here, it's still my go-to spot. I'd definitely recommend it to other dog owners looking for an easy, clean, and practical bathing solution.

It is so great to have somewhere that is warm and inviting for both myself and my puppy. Everyone that works there that I've come in contact with was super nice and professional and very, very helpful and great with dogs. The store was clean and I love that they had pet supplies and great treats for the babies. Every time I get the chance, I tell everyone they should totally try and go watch their dogs here instead of trying to do the doggy wrestle in their tub or in their backyard. If you have not been, it's worth the trip. I love the fact that it's one price and I get to use all of their equipment and shampoo and conditioners. The raised beds with the steps for the dogs to use are wonderful. I went to another place to use their dog wash and they did not have steps so I had to lift up this 30 pound puppy wiggling trying to get her in the tub. The steps, the raised tubs are so great on your back .
