He is a pitbull who was "owned" by a homeless man and was beaten by him regularly. He was severely underweight and deemed dog aggressive by the animal shelter. Ruffles nursed him back to health and even took him to an animal behaviorist to assess his needs. He is now a happy, well-adjusted pup who lives with 2 other dogs and a cat. He even passed the Canine Good Citizen test. A year later we adopted another Ruffles rescue dog who was formerly a stray in Compton. She had also suffered abuse but was socialized and loved by Ruffles until we adopted her. She is currently a part of our pack without any issues. I cannot recommend Ruffles highly enough. The owner, Christina, has very high standards and always does right by her animals. I still support this rescue and donate to it often. Their mission is a lofty one and they never give up on any dog.

She made an appointment to see a particular little puppy. She asked if I would be able to drive her out there. Of course! When we got to Hanford, we kept driving around and around the mall. No SPCA that we could find. The GPS said we were THERE. Turns out it's INSIDE the mall!! The girl working there was really nice and the little puppy was love at first sight for both my SIL and the puppy! The adoption papers and fee were taken care of and we were soon on our way with a new little puppy.

I was told both verbally and in writing that I had seven (7) days to notify the rescue of any medical issues. Within that seven-day period, I notified them in writing that my newly adopted Persian cat developed yellow eye discharge, squinting, and signs concerning for an eye infection, which is not typical Persian tearing. I also notified the rescue of my concerns regarding delayed or limited access to medical treatment, as prompt veterinary care is important to prevent unnecessary suffering. Despite reporting the issue within the stated timeframe, I was informed that no veterinary costs would be covered, and that treatment would require returning the cat to the shelter rather than allowing local veterinary care. Based on the condition that appeared shortly after adoption, I felt misled by being told the cat was in "good health." While I am not saying this was intentional, the information provided did not align with my experience once the cat was home, which was concerning. I share this so future adopters can make informed decisions. Please be cautious, especially when adopting brachycephalic or exotic breeds such as Persians, which are prone to eye and respiratory issues. Clarify in writing what "good health" means and what medical support, if any, is provided after adoption.

The staff sent video updates until the puppies were ready to be picked up. They are well organized and truly care for the rescues. Our pup lived a wonderful 14.5 years. Didn't get a clear answer because I am in Fresno County but live in Laton which half of Laton is Kings County. But it so happens that the following week I found a feral baby kitten in my backyard. Was having a problem with his eye. Probably a few weeks old. I texted a picture and asked for help with the kitten and no one even replied. They could've replied about something whether it was to tell me they couldn't help me or some advice what to do with the baby's eye. Stray, feral cats are a problem out here and there is no help. I am an old lady, but I need help. It's unfortunate that no one really gives a F I don't understand how people can work in animal control, and not care about cats. Everything is about the dogs!

I was told that they had to have RABIES VACCINE PROOF. THIS WAS NEVER STATED ON THE WEBSITE. This was a huge waste of my time as I drove from afar with three small children and three cats in carriers. I have recently fostered and adopted from here two months ago. The clinic needs to do better. IF PROOF OF RABIES VACCINE WAS REQUIRED, THIS SHOULD'VE BEEN POSTED ON WALK-IN CLINIC INFORMATION PAGE OR ANYWHERE. Also, I was told that I might not get seen because 10 puppies were just brought in. It's like they were looking for an excuse to turn me away. There's a walk-in clinic right up the street. I'll be taking my services there from here on out. Lastly, this is no way to treat your fosters and adopters let alone anyone!
