We had a virtual urgent care call and they were concerned enough that we brought him into The Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic to check in on him. After an ultrasound, they found that he had a mass on his spleen and was internally bleeding, and had to go into immediate overnight emergency surgery. The surgery was successful, and after a 36 hour hospital stay, Barkley is back home and on the mend. While this was such a scary experience and few days, I have nothing but wonderful things to say about The Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic and their team. They are open 24/7/365, and provided around the clock care. Because of the length of his stay, we worked with and spoke to multiple of their veterinarians and assistants (thank you to Dr. Ferguson, Dr. Fleming, Dr. Goldberg, and Dr. Blackmon), and everyone was so kind, attentive, and caring through every step of the process, gave us calls throughout the night with updates and over the past few days to check in on Barkley's progress, and were so compassionate in all of the care they provided. When we arrived I had my husband go check us in, because I didn't want to be crying in a crowded waiting room. He didn't even make it inside when my dog had a seizure so I honked the horn to get his attention. But he wasn't the only one, staff were already responding to us and taking her back immediately. I was so emotional, everyone was so gentle and kind. They took care of her and gave her meds to stop the seizure before the euthanasia. They took their time and made sure we understood what was happening every step of the way. They let us take our time with her when everything was over and let us stay for her pawprints and for as long as we needed. This was such a painful day but we appreciate the excellent care of all the staff we interacted with

How is the dog crying while you're cutting him? They must be WATERING DOWN the ANESTHESIA for the animals because no way he was crying that bad. When the nurses saw that I saw they quickly shut the door and locked it! I would be cautious with this place and how they treat animals behind closed doors. We won't be returning. I also would like to add that my dog is now traumatized. He never used to be scared when you touched him and after that visit he has been having bad dreams. This facility doesn't care & TREATS ANIMALS AWFUL!!! Of course the owner going to come on here and say "it didn't happen"... okay...!!!!!!!!!!
