I live in the Bronx but come out to New Rochelle just to walk around and browse the stores. I B Cohen is one of my favorite stores here. I have been told by the people working in the store that is will be closing up some time this year because the family who owns it wants to move down and relocate in Florida. I hope that a new owner will come and take over so that it stays open. I was also told that the building the store is in was sold and that the new owner wants to demolish it and put a high rise here. I do not want to see that happen. If the building has been sold I hope that the new owner will keep the building and have another business move in like a restaurant or a hair dresser etc. I do not want to see the building get torn down as we need to save our historic heritage and keep the historic charm of this nice city. Too much beautiful architecture has been destroyed in the New York area. I hope that people read this review and will make every effort to save this building if not the business. We want Main Street to keep its historic charm. I was able to find something fairly quickly - the racks are organized well (shirts, skirts, dresses, jeans, slacks, leggings, etc.) I went to try on my findings and there was no one at the fitting room to unlock the door. I went to front counter and asked if someone was available to unlock a door and was told to wait. Fine, I get it there's a line - you're busy...Meanwhile there was a girl at the door greeting entering customers who could have stepped away for 5 mins without the world ending. I finally get a fitting room - not because an employee came over but because someone exited. By the time I exited the fitting room the line was twice as long and did not seem to be moving so I left without buying anything. This location always has a line, never has someone available to unlock the fitting room, and the cashiers move at a glacial pace. Yeah, now I remember why I go here once a year if that when I visit Bay Plaza...You might as well try your luck elsewhere.
