What a complete waste of time. Sitting in the waiting room for over an hour while everybody else is called who came in after me. I addressed it with the front desk multiple times only to still have other people called while I sat and waited. An hour after my appointment time and yet to be called. How am I to trust or be comfortable with a doctor and their practice doing spinal surgery on me when I can't get decent respect and compassion in the waiting room? I'd hate to be ditched on the operating table. Now I'm left with no appointment, didn't get to see the doctor and reeling in pain because the staff couldn't do their job and get me into my appointment. I've never been treated like I didn't matter before. Just the other day I recommended somebody with back troubles and now I regret doing so. I will make sure to inform them. I had surgery with doctor Farjoodi on 2020. I'm having problem and when I call to make an appointment with him, the secretary says I cannot see him. I have to see the PA, which is not right since he did the surgery he needs to look at his own work. I'm very disappointed with the staff. Oh my gosh! As a family physician with multiple chronic medical conditions I have seen many different doctors. I was extremely fearful as I came in to the office as I've been in severe pain for the last 15 months. I was very fearful of surgery as I have had bad results in the past. Beware of this physician. He left we waiting over an hour beyond a scheduled appointment for result of an MRI scan he ordered for multiple compression fractures of my back. After an hour when I asked where he was I was told he was at lunch, but when I then pushed back as to why appointment was scheduled when it was known the this was his lunch period I was then told he was doing rounds. At that point I had been waiting more than an hour and he was even in the building with other patients waiting before me to be seen so I left. I contacted the office 3 times over the week to request the physician to provide me with my results as well as advise as to how much longer I would be in a back brace(it had already been 3 motions) with no response. The following weekend I received a letter dated the day after my appointment and posted 2 days after that to advise I was discharged from his service as well as the practice on whole due to "non compliance" despite following all requests and attending my appoint though he did not see fit to do so himself. I was left with no patient plan, no results of my MRI nor referral to an appropriate caregiver to continue my care. Mr Farjoodi is incredible unprofessional and provide no continuity of care. I have filed a grievance against him with the network, insurance company as well as the state. Beware of this provider as he appears to believe his time is more important than the patient and should you push back he will leave you without a caregiver and no recourse to challenge that. read more

Let's start with the "givens"- Bedside manner "Outstanding". Caring Knowledgeable Staff "Outstanding". Skilled Physicians Assistant (Leah Hansen) "Check and Double Check"! Now for the particulars in "my case". My wife has battled back issues for well over 15 years. We had some of the highest rated physicians and surgeons in our health plan, but no one could stop her pain. We even tried inversion therapy, again no relief. She suffers from Degenerative Disc Disease (D.D.D.). Her L-5 and S-1 discs were "bone on bone". The pain was excruciating. Often times she would be dropped to her knees in pain. Anyone who suffers from this type of pain knows that it is not only debilitating, but it affects the whole family. Loved ones are taken to the edge with the moodiness and constant need for assistance. Treatments almost always include heavy opioids, and all of their side effects and dangers. My wife had multiple steroid injections and still the pain persisted. Why am I telling you all of this? Because I need you to understand that this physician/surgeon, not only solved the problem, but saved our family. If any of this sounds familiar then you need to have a conversation with Dr. Farjoodi. All of the great attributes that great physicians have, Dr. Farjoodi has. He listens and remembers your goals and issues. The most amazing thing was that he looked at my wife's exray and with all of the confidence in the world said, "I can fix that". He wondered why it had not been done sooner, and we realized that our expensive insurance did not want to pay for it. Within two weeks my wife was on the operating table, and pain was on the way out. Her P.I.L.F. and T.I.L.F surgeries were completely successful. How do I know they were successful? If you are a caregiver, spouse, partner, or family member of someone who suffers and lives with this type of condition... PLEASE READ THIS! I knew they were successful because that FACE of pain left. You know the "scowl" ... well it was gone. Let's not forget the reduction of those powerful drugs (morphine being one), the "phuzzy" living in a "cloud" feeling, gone. We got our family member back... Because Dr. Farjoodi said, "I can fix that". He has kept his word and I know you should give him the opportunity to "fix" your condition as well. read more

Horrible experience with Dr. Farjoodi. After one laminectomy surgery and one spinal fluid leak repair surgery, I still had persistent spinal fluid leaks and I contracted bacterial meningitis. I was in the hospital Dec 21-24, Dec 27-31 and Jan 3-10. For days Dr. Farjoodi insisted I didn't have a spinal fluid leak despite obvious signs. When I tried to seek better care at Cedars Sinai with specialized neurosurgeons he made the hospital transfer almost impossible. We had to get a patient care coordinator at the hospital step in and take over. If you care about your health or the health of your loved ones, avoid him at all costs. Don't make the same mistakes I did. Do your research! read more

I have been in pain for as long as I can remember. My chiropractor and pain pills got me through it. I was an athlete growing up. I was primed to be tuff. I chose Dr. Farjoodi because I know I have a complicated orthopedic medical history. I have a rare musculoskeletal birth defect. It was difficult to get through the phone system- I got hung up on twice and the email with my insurance information was lost in the office. But I was surprised to be able to have a consultation with Dr. Farjoodi last week. He did not recommend a revision surgery, yet, but said I needed to drop my current helpful pain management person for further testing. I tried to get an appointment with the pain management person he insisted I use, but they don't answer their phone so I can't use them. If I had been able to meet with Dr. E and he performed the injection, I would then meet with the PA, not the Dr. I chose. It's my understanding all future visits would be with a PA, unless surgery was advised, by the PA. I met with my PCP yesterday and reviewed the situation with him. We agreed a wiser choice of action would be for me to continue to use my current pain management dr., not switch to someone I can't reach, to then have further treatments determined by a PA. I believe Dr. Farjoodi is an excellent surgeon but be aware of what it may take to get to where you as a patient need surgery -- care by a PA. read more

Following a detailed session of consultation with Dr. Farjoodi, I had an L5S1 ALIF spine fusion surgery on Feb. 27, 2022. I am in week 10 post surgery and I am wirting to highly recommend Dr. Farjoodi for treating the most complicated back and spine problems. My follow up visits after the operation and his close monitoring of my recovery period indicated the surgery has been successful. I still experience pain and discomfort but feel very happy and confident that Dr. Farjoodi has done a successful though complicated surgery and I will have a life with the highest quality possible post spinal fusion. Dr. Farjoodi has in-depth knowledge and experience  in spinal fusion. I wasnt the patient but accompanied my friend to a second opinion appt after her original dr wanted to git her like a fish and replace her entire spine with rods. That surgery even involves going in through the abdomen. Shes 73 years old! Dr Farjoodi said he didnt feel shed do well and is trying P/T and pain management first and doesnt recommend the big surgery. He was so kind and calm. He was running very late as he has a heavy patient load so early appts probably a hood idea. He was worth waiting for. read more

He explained everything to me in detail and in terms I could understand. He referred me for PT and to an awesome pain management specialist, Dr. Mahrou. One month from my microdiscectomy on L5-S1 and I'm feeling good. I'm with Cigna and was referred to Dr. Farjood. They were able to get me in within 5 days of my referral. I checked the doctor out online and all seemed good and when I met him, I liked him right away. Very warm and caring welcome, he listens to your concerns and makes recommendations. I started with conservative treatment but then decided to have the surgery per his recommendation. I was having muscle weakness and pain. With the surgery and physical therapy I'm regaining the strength in my leg and any residual pain is a result of pushing myself too hard during the day. His staff and PA Leah are great. The office can have some hiccups and waits, but that can be expected for an office with busy surgeons. I've referred a friend and will recommend Dr. Farjoodi to anyone that asks. read more

I feel Dr. Farjoodi is shortchanging his patients like myself regarding pre-surgical consultations. He spent only twenty minutes in the exam room. The surgeon never showed me evidence of the abnormal pathology on lumbar x-rays. He didn't review the diagnostic MRI with me describing the surgical procedure. This orthopedic surgeon nonchalantly breezed over my patient concerns about outcomes and the postoperative recovery period leaving me with grave concerns about the surgical procedure itself. My wife had a Posterior Cervical Fusion (C5 to T1) in October of 2016. Dr. Farjoodi was very thorough about explaining all of the risks and benefits to the surgery. I'm 39 years old and I had lower back problems for 10 years. Specifically, I had a bulging disc between my L2-L3 combined with spinal stenosis and degenerative disc disease. Every morning I woke up I experienced acute pain in my lower back and buttocks. I couldn't play sports anymore or keep up with my three children. I had tried everything including, back specialists, neurologists, cortisone shots, physical therapy, exercise, yoga, you name it. I was always avoiding surgery because that's what everyone I talked to said to do. Some doctors told me that the bulging disc may go away with time. It got to the point where my wife had to help me put on my socks and underwear in the morning. That's when I said, "that's it." I did my research and found Dr. Farjoodi. It's one of the best decisions I've ever made. He was extremely patient and listened to all of my concerns. What I liked about him is that he approached my case holistically, taking into consideration my age, my pain, my goals, and incorporated that into a solution that was best for my situation.
