I proceeded with the Class Vehicle - Large Sedan. When checking in at the rental car counter, I was informed the car fleet inventory was limited. Because of this, I received a free upgrade to a mini SUV. I ended up getting the Volkswagen Tiguan FWD. This vehicle was beyond incredible on a full tank of gas. It was able to hold nearly 500 miles at once. This experience was quite impressive. As a Hertz Gold+ member, I had three complimentary days added to my account. The original total of the booking was nearly $300. After the discount was applied, the invoice ended up being $95.61. I also earned 63 points. I was so elated and grateful because the price point was so valuable. I returned the vehicle while this business was not open. Since I had a 7am flight with United Airlines, I did the drop-off at 5am. It was convenient and easy because all I had to do was park the vehicle in the return line and then drop off the key inside of the airport. There was a designated drop box for keys at the rental counter that a person couldn't miss. This particular Hertz Rent-A-Car location exceeded expectations and provided a wonderfully positive experience. I recommend renting a vehicle from here.

On December 8, 2025, I reserved a vehicle and was told upon arrival there were no cars. Then I was told there were cars--but not for the one-way rental I had already booked. When I asked for clarification, I was met with a dismissive "I said what I said." I asked for a manager and was flat-out denied. No follow-up. No apology. Nothing. Now here we are again. I arrive after a flight, wait 15 minutes, and the agent can't even locate my reservation. Once he finally does, he casually tells me: "We don't have any cars." So what exactly is the point of a reservation? Why wasn't that communicated immediately instead of wasting my time? Then I'm told, "If someone brings a car back, you'll have one"--even though they're closing in an hour and have no confirmed returns. That's not a solution--that's incompetence. When I asked about the next morning, I got the same useless answer: "If someone brings one back." No apology. No alternatives. No effort to fix the situation. Just "go get an Uber and come back." I flew in ahead of my team and am responsible for getting us to a critical 12 PM meeting--and your staff couldn't care less. This isn't just poor service, it's a complete lack of accountability and professionalism. At this point, it's obvious this location is poorly managed and poorly staffed. The major issue here is that we requested two car seats, one rear facing and one forward facing. All they had were the rear facing car seats for babies and small toddlers and booster seats. So if your child is too small for a booster but too big for their rear facing seats, you're left with a sub standard safety option. Putting children's safety at risk is not acceptable. If they're going to have the option for different types of car seats, they should actually have them available.

I had flown into Jackson for an unexpected funeral and HAD to be in attendance just 12 hours after landing. I still had an hour's worth of driving ahead of me, as well. Needless to say, I was LIVID that Dollar had not kept their commitment to hold my car for 8 hours following the delay caused by the airlines. Hell, they didn't even remain in the building nor pass off the reservation to any other companies that participate in the rental business alongside them at JAN airport. Once I calmed down enough and regained my composure, I approached the Avis desk. I had no other option. Haji, the associate at the desk, was a miracle worker! He kept complete composure, remained calm, explained everything I needed to know about their contracts and saved the evening! Once I got to the car & opened the door to place my suitcase inside, I was met with the most pungent smell of marijuana that I think I've EVER smelled. Clearly, whomever checks the cars back in doesn't meticulously look over/through the cars when receiving them back. (I personally verified this myself when returning to the airport on my way home. The attendant scanned a barcode on the window and told me to place the keys on the dashboard.
