I rarely give bad scores but like the others on here did not get the car I was due. I booked for work 2 weeks ago for a standard car. I don't ask much. Comfortable seats and cruise control. I travel for my living so the car is an important part of my sanity. When I arrived there was no one in the customer service area. So after waiting for around 10 mins the rep comes back with a gentleman who was upset because they did not have the car type promised.when it was my turn was incomes they only had 1 compact car left... I made my reservation 2 weeks ago. So they "discounted" my rental to the price it would have been if I rented a compact car. Then sent me on my way. In a car with no cruise and nothing manual for the next 4 days of my working trip. I understand things happen but the least they could have done was offer to take me to a local Dollar rental center to get a car. When I arrived back on Friday the garage was full. It is not my fault that I arrived on a low volume day. My car should have been there. I normally use enterprise and almost every time I go somewhere else something happens. I guess that was my fault for not listening to my gut. Paying a little more for quality and consistency is worth it.

What kind of car does a snake drive?…read more An Ana-Honda. Although I didn't rent one of them, I did enjoy my visits to this location. It is hard to rate them high as all any expects is crappy experiences but I have had great visits and friendly interactions. This is a small airport and you will not get the huge airport selections so if you get past that then you should be ok with your selection. Name the vehicle and enjoy the service, that is what I do. Today I even left my WiFi/MIFI in my vehicle and the team did a great job in helping me come back to the car to retrieve it. I always use Hertz and will continue to do so thanks to this visit and other visits.

On December 8, 2025, I reserved a vehicle and was told upon arrival there were no cars. Then I was told there were cars--but not for the one-way rental I had already booked. When I asked for clarification, I was met with a dismissive "I said what I said." I asked for a manager and was flat-out denied. No follow-up. No apology. Nothing. Now here we are again. I arrive after a flight, wait 15 minutes, and the agent can't even locate my reservation. Once he finally does, he casually tells me: "We don't have any cars." So what exactly is the point of a reservation? Why wasn't that communicated immediately instead of wasting my time? Then I'm told, "If someone brings a car back, you'll have one"--even though they're closing in an hour and have no confirmed returns. That's not a solution--that's incompetence. When I asked about the next morning, I got the same useless answer: "If someone brings one back." No apology. No alternatives. No effort to fix the situation. Just "go get an Uber and come back." I flew in ahead of my team and am responsible for getting us to a critical 12 PM meeting--and your staff couldn't care less. This isn't just poor service, it's a complete lack of accountability and professionalism. At this point, it's obvious this location is poorly managed and poorly staffed. Two identical failures tell me this isn't a one-off issue--it's a pattern.

After being left stranded due to flight delays throughout the day and an early closure by Dollar…read moreCar Rental in the Jackson, MS airport, I had NO recourse but to rent from the ONLY available car rental desk open! I had flown into Jackson for an unexpected funeral and HAD to be in attendance just 12 hours after landing. I still had an hour's worth of driving ahead of me, as well. Needless to say, I was LIVID that Dollar had not kept their commitment to hold my car for 8 hours following the delay caused by the airlines. Hell, they didn't even remain in the building nor pass off the reservation to any other companies that participate in the rental business alongside them at JAN airport. Once I calmed down enough and regained my composure, I approached the Avis desk. I had no other option. Haji, the associate at the desk, was a miracle worker! He kept complete composure, remained calm, explained everything I needed to know about their contracts and saved the evening! He quickly assigned me an SUV and had me on my way in less than 15 minutes. Once I got to the car & opened the door to place my suitcase inside, I was met with the most pungent smell of marijuana that I think I've EVER smelled. It literally smacked me in the face when I opened the trunk lid and both front doors, despite the $450 warning sticker on the windows. Clearly, whomever checks the cars back in doesn't meticulously look over/through the cars when receiving them back. (I personally verified this myself when returning to the airport on my way home. The attendant scanned a barcode on the window and told me to place the keys on the dashboard. He never got inside the car nor walked around the outside of it, either. ) Despite the over-whelming smell, I was able to attend the funeral, and safely get to and from the airport. Essentially, that IS all I NEEDED! So, once again, a HUGE shoutout to Haji at the Jackson-Evers airport in MS! Thank you for your efforts and concern! You deserve a raise after THAT fiasco!

Arrived last night to an empty desk with customers wondering how to get the rental cars they…read morebooked. Hertz rep said "they all went home, ran out of cars". So Avis overbooks reservations and leave customers stranded. I need to be in LA tonight and am stuck with no other rental options available in the next day or two from any company in town. This is a nightmare and outrageous!!!!

I have always heard people tell me to stay…read moreaway from them because they typically send a text last minute saying that they tried to call you to tell you they don't have any rental available and they apologize for the inconvenience. You try to call them and they will not answer the phone. This has happened to me the last two times I rented a car from them. Both times I booked the car over two weeks in advance. I'm not sure who manages that Flowood location. I have the name that I have found from research but I'm not going to throw it out on here until I'm certain. I've reached out to corporate and I have spent over 3 hours today with them, so far, to no avail. I'm shocked they can stay in business for this long. I know I'm done with them. And I'm going to make certain everybody and every avenue is aware of this. You can't do people like that. It's inexcusable.

Secondly I had every email that Hertz sent me with the confirmation number. The manager is worst than the employee. I was then told that a small Ford SUV was compatible to a FULL SIZE SUV because "that's all they have." I will go to upper management on this poor excuse for employees and a poor excuse for employees.
