The positive aspect about this location is that the customer service here is friendly. The staff is very accommodating when it comes to returning your rental car. The negative aspect about this location is that the car rental selection is very poor. In other words, a standard size car and below = a compact or economy car. This has been the case each time I have been to this location. There is usually no more than 5 cars to choose from in total. You cannot reserve a specific brand of car before you pick it up. What you see is what you get. Unless you want to gamble into getting a economy car for the price of an intermediate or standard vehicle, I would pass this place up.

I proceeded with the Class Vehicle - Large Sedan. When checking in at the rental car counter, I was informed the car fleet inventory was limited. Because of this, I received a free upgrade to a mini SUV. I ended up getting the Volkswagen Tiguan FWD. This vehicle was beyond incredible on a full tank of gas. It was able to hold nearly 500 miles at once. This experience was quite impressive. As a Hertz Gold+ member, I had three complimentary days added to my account. The original total of the booking was nearly $300. After the discount was applied, the invoice ended up being $95.61. I also earned 63 points. I was so elated and grateful because the price point was so valuable. I returned the vehicle while this business was not open. Since I had a 7am flight with United Airlines, I did the drop-off at 5am. It was convenient and easy because all I had to do was park the vehicle in the return line and then drop off the key inside of the airport. There was a designated drop box for keys at the rental counter that a person couldn't miss. This particular Hertz Rent-A-Car location exceeded expectations and provided a wonderfully positive experience. I recommend renting a vehicle from here.

When I asked for clarification, I was met with a dismissive "I said what I said." I asked for a manager and was flat-out denied. No follow-up. No apology. Nothing. Now here we are again. I arrive after a flight, wait 15 minutes, and the agent can't even locate my reservation. Once he finally does, he casually tells me: "We don't have any cars." So what exactly is the point of a reservation? Why wasn't that communicated immediately instead of wasting my time? Then I'm told, "If someone brings a car back, you'll have one"--even though they're closing in an hour and have no confirmed returns. That's not a solution--that's incompetence. When I asked about the next morning, I got the same useless answer: "If someone brings one back." No apology. No alternatives. No effort to fix the situation. Just "go get an Uber and come back." I flew in ahead of my team and am responsible for getting us to a critical 12 PM meeting--and your staff couldn't care less. This isn't just poor service, it's a complete lack of accountability and professionalism. At this point, it's obvious this location is poorly managed and poorly staffed. The major issue here is that we requested two car seats, one rear facing and one forward facing. All they had were the rear facing car seats for babies and small toddlers and booster seats. So if your child is too small for a booster but too big for their rear facing seats, you're left with a sub standard safety option. Putting children's safety at risk is not acceptable. If they're going to have the option for different types of car seats, they should actually have them available.

You try to call them and they will not answer the phone. This has happened to me the last two times I rented a car from them. Both times I booked the car over two weeks in advance. I'm not sure who manages that Flowood location. I have the name that I have found from research but I'm not going to throw it out on here until I'm certain. I've reached out to corporate and I have spent over 3 hours today with them, so far, to no avail. I'm shocked they can stay in business for this long. I know I'm done with them. And I'm going to make certain everybody and every avenue is aware of this. You can't do people like that. It's inexcusable.
