Payless patio has surpassed all my expectations; from their customer service and the quality of their products. I initially was referred to them by a friend of mine who spoke highly of their services & they did not disappoint. I did my own research & received multiple quotes from contractors and other companies selling alumawood patios and Payless Patio had prices no other company could beat. The diy kit measurements were easy to take because all the steps you need are listed on their online website. My patio was not the perfect square & I had my concerns but Russ was quick to answer any questions I had. I initially freaked out after finalizing the measurements & over estimated the projection of the patio. I texted Russ right away & he quickly reassured me everything would be ok, which was a huge sigh of relief. We decided to have Kevin, the contractor Russ recommends to install our patio. Kevin & his team were prompt & installation was as close to perfect as it could get. We were blown away with the end result. The quality of the patio & the installation were beautifully executed. We couldn't be more happy with our decision to move forward with this company. Fun fact: Our backyard Reno was in the midst of coronavirus. Me & my husband are healthcare workers on the frontlines. We unfortunately had to cancel our family trip this year but wanted to beautify our home so our kids can enjoy being at home. Russ & his wife were kind enough to offer us a healthcare discount to show their appreciation. It was unexpected and very kind of him & his wife. My family & I are so grateful for their kindness. Great company and great serivce. Please don't be intimidated by DIY part. The installer they have a contract with is a professional. If you're hesitant about this, talk with Russ and he will walk you thru the process, he is very patient and knowledgeable. Here's a quick summary. 1. Get your own measurements, check twice, call Russ and discuss what you need and want. Samples are not necessary. Just look online and on his website. 2. Sign the contract for the patio parts and a different contract for labor/installation- Payable upon completion. 2 separate companies, both licensed & legitimate businesses. 3. Installer (kevin), will contact you via email/phone after you signed the contract to schedule installation. Give 2-4 weeks notice because they are busy- which is good as far as I'm concerned. 4. Installer (kevin) will come to your house with the patio kit you paid for install it in 1 day. Same patio product that other companies try to up sell you on. Same exact product! , without the hassles of a salesman, manager and subcontractor which add to the cost of the actual patio cover. Forget your doubts and worries. There are some unfortunate and maybe unfair reviews for Payless Patio. Like the one from Sandy B.; would she have preferred that he not call back and ignore her phone call instead of the honest response that she got? Anyway, Russ just finished his job at my house. The whole experience was great. There was some miscommunication but he always apologized whether or not he had to. He loves what he does and could probably talk for hours about it. Because he loves what he does, he probably isn't making too much money off his jobs. Why do I say that? Because his prices are great compared to the other estimates I got. He also does the work himself so he takes pride in his workmanship. I've worked with other contractors who send out a salesperson, then send out their workers, and then they're gone. But because Russ does the work himself, he pays attention to every detail. He broke one of my sprinkler heads and let me know about it. He then went to Home Depot and wandered for who knows how long to find the replacement. I've had stuff broken by other contractors and nobody ever did that for me; they just moved on. Anyway, don't let the few one star reviews turn you off. I hope he's still doing this line of work in 10 years because I would love to have the opportunity to work with him again. This is one of the best DIY packages I have had. The price was much lower than anyone else in the area. Ross also delivered the package himself even though I was a few hours away from him. Ross had all the screws labeled for each part and the kit was so easy to put together that I didn't even need the instructions. The structure took me a day to finish and the lattice tubes took me about a week since mine is a very long projections and I had a lot of them to put on. I was able to run the gas line for my BBQ through the rafters and put some nice lights that perfectly match the structure. Overall I am very happy with it. It's solid and looks beautiful. read more

Like everyone, due to Covid-19, we spend more time in our home, and I was in the market for 20x10 Alumawood Patio Cover. Payless Patio was one of the recommended dealers from Alumawood website. I've gotten few different quotes and Payless Patio was the most competitive quote. I was a bit skeptical at first but after speaking with Russ and Debby, I figure, what the heck, let's give them a try. So at June 6th, I signed and prepaid for the materials. But According to Russ, Alumawood and Russ's team are so busy and backed up that they cannot guarantee until July 21st, which was more than 6 weeks later.
