My experience with Exclusive Awnings was outstanding. I found them on Yelp and drove to their shop in Norco to see some examples of their work. My experience did not at all match up with the ratings on line. I am SO DISAPPOINTED! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Mario, the sales rep was courteous and helpful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Jose, the installer (and helper) would have been good too. The owner, not so much. The quality of sewing on the awnings was TERRIBLE!!! Red awning fabric with bunched up white thread, uneven stitches, sewn off the binding on the scallops. Sewing errors should be corrected, not just passed off. Zig zag stitches aren't that hard to sew. I am out weeks of time, as well as a full day waiting for installation and now I have to start over with a new company. We had a very bad experience with this company in August 2025. We ordered three products and have major issues with two of them: 1. The fixed awning we ordered for $6,200+ was represented to us at the time of the order as being waterproof. On the day it was installed this was confirmed until later in the day when it suddenly was no longer waterproof. It suddenly became "water-resistant". This is after we signed the contract and the product was being installed. Mario the representative for the company who placed the order and was present during the installation told us what we wanted to hear to get us to sign the contract and then totally changed his story during the installation. Mario also failed to recognize that the design he came up with for the awning had a number of design issues including: the awning flaps around and makes a very loud drumming noise in an 11 to 13 mile per hour wind. This is a fixed awning outside of our primary bedroom and the noise is very loud. The fixed awning has been in place for three days now and we cannot live with this noise. The other issues are that the upper edge of the awning is open (not sealed) and will let water in in a driving rain and the lower edge will dump any run off on the end of wood beams that are a part of our house, causing them to rot. We never signed off on a design and the design is defective. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We have asked them to remove the fixed awning and they have refused to do so.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So now we have spend more money to dispose of it. 2. We also asked twice that the roll up electric screens we ordered (priced at $8,300+) for our back porch be 4 to 6 inches wider than the openings to the porch. Mario heard this and acknowledged he heard it but he did not follow our order. Instead he showed up with screens that are barely wider than the opening (about 1.5 to 2.0 inches wider than the opening). Mario installed one. It was not acceptable. The edge of the track and puckered screen material where the material attaches to a zipper could be seen from inside the porch. We specifically asked for a wider screen to get better coverage. After not delivering what we asked for, the excuse of Exclusive Awnings was that there was not a strong attachment point at 4 inches and that they would not offer a warranty on the hardware if it was installed as we requested. This was all told to us after they failed to follow our requirement and showed up with a screen that was smaller than we ordered. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We called the office in the middle of the install and spoke with Maria the owner over the next two days. She kept telling us she would make us happy, but she did not.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]She took no responsibility for the issues Mario created and wanted to charge us more to correct the mistakes Mario and the company made.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were clear in stating what we wanted (a water proof awning and screens 4 to 6 inches wider than the opening to the porch). The company did not care, did whatever they wanted, and expected us to just accept whatever they showed up with. We have one item installed which seems to be working as represented by Mario (a wind sale). We have two items which we are not happy with (the very loud awning which they installed and they refuse to fix or come and remove) and the screens which have not been installed because they are the wrong size). The Exclusive Awnings contract was missing many details about the products to be installed and what details there were were hand written. We were sold a heavenly experience by Mario and now find ourselves in hell. When these issues were brought to the attention of the company, the owner Maria told us "we will make you happy". Maria is now telling us: " you signed a contract and cannot cancel it" even if we did not deliver what you told us you wanted. We decided to use Exclusive Awnings due to a promise that was made by the salesman. He assured us that the awning could be mounted under the eave of our home. Unfortunately, it was not determined that it couldn't be mounted in this location until after it was installed, which left large holes in the stucco. After a couple tries, the stucco was repaired although there was some paint splatter left behind on the pavers. The most frustrating part is that no one figured this out before installing it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I called the office to talk about a solution, there was a lot of finger pointing. The installer said it was the salesman's fault, the gal at the office said the installer was her supervisor and to ask him what should be done.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]That installer then called another supervisor to try and rectify the situation.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They ended up mounting the awning on the eave, which left visible holes where the old awning was mounted, which is exactly what we didn't want. The supervisor said he threw in a $200 wind sensor, which unfortunately does not work. [[HIGHLIGHT]]As they were leaving, I was told the salesman would call me when he returned from vacation, which never happened.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The awning is very nice, just not mounted the way we were promised. read more
