We enjoy finding local coffeehouses and supporting local businesses, and this place was a happy find. Loved the vibe here! Very collegey but had a good mix of nice folks. They were selling some local artisan goods, in addition to food and drinks. They made a perfect whole milk latte - I don't say that lightly. So I was waiting on a car repair and decided to try this place. I entered a very cool looking coffee shop! Only one customer waiting comfortably on a nice couch for her order. Two young ladies behind the counter and a young man behind a window preparing food. No eye contact, no greeting I had to start the conversation with a hello since now I'm feeling ignored or not welcome. I placed my order and was asking my name "Shane" she ask the spelling and she looked at me with a smirk like I was spelling it wrong. Ugh. I went to a table and the young man brought me my sandwich. Tried the matcha even though couldn't find a review on it. So far the best one I have found around town. 8/10 authentic flavor and good balance of milk. If u add little vanilla or simple syrup you can ask it adds some sweetness. Overall a good iced matcha . Got the Thai cream soda for my sister. Wa Sorrry good 7/10 just needs to add that orange Thai color to it . Otherwise good 6/10. The gluten free Jalapeño corn bread was pretty good 8/10. The paninis I have had there for brunch or lunch are varied depending on the season and were delicious. Didn't get a chance to try the coffee very nice ambience great place to hang out. We got smoothies. I got the piña colada. I would give it a B. We also got the green garden smoothie they did not have mint and so that was left out. We thought it would've been better. We would give that a B as well. Todays coffee obsession stop is another hidden (to me) gem! Great little shop and a relaxing hipster vibe in a small town. It's a few miles off the interstate but worth the detour for a creamy Turmeric latte. I haven't had one this good since my last business trip to Manhattan in 2019. Yea it's a winner!! Not a large menu but great pastries and some sandwiches. I always stop in this independent local coffee shop to get a cup and a bag of beans to take home when I visit my son in Radford. The coffee is really good - they roast their own beans. The breakfast sandwiches are really good, too. The decor is eclectic with plenty of seating. It is run as a non-profit with the proceeds used to educate Miskito children in Nicaragua. read more

Traveling through Radford we found Radford Coffee on Yelp. The coffee was excellent and the baristas really knew how to prepare their coffee drinks. We highly recommend them for their coffee. The ambience was good with ample comfortable and table seating. There weren't too many customers plugged in and monopolizing the space with their computer activities. The food was just okay, which prompted our 4 instead of 5 rating. Our chicken Caesar wrap was fine (they put it in a panini press to warm up); however our vegan potato leek soup was tasteless, too thick, and hardly seasoned. read more

I had only a quick, in-and-out experience at Radford Coffee Company, but have to admit that I was pretty impressed with the few minutes I was on premise. My family was visiting from out of town, and Yelp rose this beauty to the top of the very-small crop of joe joints in New River City. My grandmother makes such weak coffee it could be very easily mistaken for strong tea, and that's not how I get down. So, beautiful bride and I stopped in for a grande cup of Honduras French-press brew, and a tall hot chocolate-sans-whip. While waiting, I observed that the remodel job done on this historical building was top-notch. There's a character here that you just can't fake. Patina like this takes time, and old mother time has done a gorgeous job on the inside and outside of this building. Interior decorators have hit a home run on making this a cozy but open atmosphere, replete with classy touches like maps of coffee trading routes hanging on the wall and Edison lights dangling from the ceiling. Seating options abound, from comfy sofas and chairs to large communal tables. Service was average, but with a smile. We were heading for a solid, above-average four-star rating on this, until we hit one moderate snag. Remember that hot chocolate order exempt from whip cream? Well, as I was standing a few feet back from the counter watching the lovely lady barista concoct said cocoa beverage, I noticed she grabbed the whip cream can and had it at the ready. I stepped up to mention that I wasn't sure if word got passed from the order-taker at the register, but my beautiful bride preferred no whip. She smiled and acknowledged. I turned and was admiring one of the aforementioned maps on the wall, and a few seconds later, my name was called. Drinks in hand, I walked out and handed off the hot chocolate to my waiting wifey. A couple blocks down the road, she asks why I got whip on the drink... Dang... So, not one, but TWO requests to avoid the whip and put me in a bind with the missus were overlooked. I know it was early on a Saturday morning on an off-weekend in January, but these are experts! And, they charge handsomely for that expertise... The slight slip notwithstanding, on my next visit to the Radford area, I will most definitely be going back to offer a second chance. The beverages were fantastic! read more

I'd like to assume that if paying $15 for a Sandwich & salad they'd have made the sandwich LIKE I ASKED, and let me know they don't serve ranch WHEN I ASKED FOR IT ALONG WITH MY SALAD rather than just clicked 2 buttons and had the kitchen prepare food I not only cannot eat due to allergy but do not like as most people who eat ranch with their salad don't enjoy Caesar dressing. When giving my plate back explaining I asked for NO PORK & ranch with my salad, an employee LOUDLY yelled "we don't have ranch" instead of calmly explaining ranch is not served here WHEN I PLACED MY ORDER. I'm not big into dishing out five star reviews. This place is getting ALL the stars. First off, Radford NEEDED good coffee and they fill the need. They serve the most incredible baked goods that are fresh made, in house. They have a sandwich menu too and it isn't basic stuff. It's good stuff, like you'd fine somewhere besides Radford. (Did I say that out loud?) The place has a real coffee shop vibe, not pretend or just ok. It's legit. Cozy couches, chairs to sink into, repurposed doors as tables and wall decor. Large tables for groups to work or study, staged seating areas for couples and areas for the Friends type of experience. The customers all seem happy here. I know I am. This is my 'go to' whenever I'm in town. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. The only thing that would make it better would be to have open mic nights with wine and tapas. read more

We came here because during a Saturday of spring break, Starbucks on campus was not open. We got a plain bagel and a baconagle - both were tasty and extremely hot after our 12 min drive. For drinks, we got a blended chai latte (very chai very icy, yummmm), and decaf hazy crazy (creamy and chocolaty), and brewed coffee (it was good). The atmosphere is chill. It is spacious inside. However, this, almost makes me want to stop doing business here and would love insight: I know it only costs about $1.50-2.00 more for a half gallon of oat milk than regular cows milk. I buy it at home. Divide that by number of cups in container it's only around $0.10-0.15 more per cup. So why in the world do you charge $1.50 more per cup for oat milk? Seriously, why over charge the non dairy drinkers??? Why not just charge $0.25-0.50? Or even $0.75 if you truly need to make a profit but when you charge me over a $1.00 it appears you are just being greedy and annoying to those who can't or don't drink cows milk. So they brag about sending their profits to Nicaragua and, although amazingly commendable, when I am craving GOOD coffee I really don't mind WHERE they are sending their profits! ;) Luckily everyone wins because the drinks are incredible so onward goes profit! I definitely went in with a chip on my shoulder: I LOVE local coffee shops (like hipsters love breweries) and I search them out when I travel (read: hipster/brewery) so I was PRAYINGGGG this place would be good. Lo and behold: amazing! I had the salted caramel mocha in the winter and it was delicious! I came back in town today and had the spiced chai. Ohhhh my word! It's smokey without being overwhelming and it isn't too dark. It's spiced but not enough that it couldn't be paired with something sweet AND something savory. My husband regularly just gets the regular ol' coffee and he loves it. In all honesty, you have to make a truly terrible cup of coffee to make me sad when you are already starting with oversized mugs and oversized sofas. (Is there anything better in life??) They were super flexible about turning the veggie sammie into a panini and it was amazing! They have free wifi and smoothies and music playing and it's dark and warm and happy and I just want to sit and read (which I did) for 79 hours (which I didn't). Keep doin' watcha doin', Radford Coffee Company! I even love you damn logo and bumper stickers. Ya win me over in every way and yes, I am not a heartless coffee-addicted fool, I do agree that it's amazing it's all for a good cause! If you have not yet gone, GO!
