Last week, my company hosted our annual Holiday party at Pazzo Pomodoro and it was an outstanding experience! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance set the stage for what was a terrific evening. Details were carefully planned, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure everyone had a great time. The atmosphere was festive and joyous, like an extended family, perfectly capturing the spirit of the holidays. The highlight of our party was a wine tasting experience conducted by Mary, the in-house sommelier. Her knowledge and passion for wine were evident in every recommendation she made, perfectly pairing each dish with a complementing wine. It was not just a meal; it was a journey through some of the finest vineyards and combined education and fun for our whole team. I highly recommend Pazzo. I wish I would have found this place sooner! The food is fantastic. The only thing better is the team that makes sure the experience is top notch. Mary Watson (in-house sommelier) is so incredibly attentive and friendly. Her depth and breadth of wine knowledge is astounding. If you enjoy a glass a wine, I would recommended visiting for the exclusive purpose of chatting with Mary (as well digging into a delicious pizza). Customer Service was great! Atmosphere was cozy! Food was some what bland. I would choose Olive Garden over this place any day. Olive Garden is more flavorful. We ordered: Bottle of Rose -Perfect Garlic Bread : I could have bought a loaf from Harris Teeters and made it taste better. In fact I can buy the frozen Texas toast and would choose that first. I'll answer the lady that asked why people are not crazy about this place. It's because the food is bad, it is an Italian imitation restaurant. We order Sicilian swordfish (Pesce spada alla ghiotta). Crust was burned, fish was dry, and the veggie included corn, celery, and carrots instead of capers, olives, and cherry tomato. More like Mexican fish, except it lacks any kind of flavor. Blend, dry, and inedible. My wife ordered Petto di Pollo alla Sorrentina. No San Marzano tomato nor fresh basil. Bland cooked chicken topped with tomato sauce and melted cheese, not sauted in wine. I had a really great pizza here. One of the best! AND I had one of the worst pizza here. I usually do takeouts on pizza and depending on the day and time pizza is really inconsistent. So if you are lucky you will have a fantastic pizza! I can say their dough is well fermented and bubble is present. Some days are too dark and burnt and some days are just raw... Ordered the Garlic Bread , The meat Lasagna, Controfilleto di Manzo which is this grilled New York Strip marinated in Italian seasonings, and the Sorrentina which is this chicken breast smothered in mozzarella and sauce with some vegetables, and the calamari roughly about $90. Eyes popping, mouth watering . Took one bite and could literally hear womp womp.....WELL..... this place is not it. The steak a $21 steak tasteless cooked medium. How can this be . The chicken was not tender the flat tasting ketchup/hotsauce type of sauce attempted to give it flavor. My husband lasagna something hard was in it and he hurt his tooth Trash all of it. I have dining at Pazzo Pomodoro since that opened back in 2014 and it has always been 5 star. But on Sunday October 20, 2024 the experience, food, and service was a major disappointment. The server, Cindy, made us feel like we should have apologized just for showing up. I'm not needy nor expect to be pampered, but at least acknowledge our existence. The food was off, which it seemed there was a difference kitchen team than usual. Walked in and saw the standard checkered tablecloths you see at a lot of italian-american restaurants and was expecting something mediocre but thankfully it turned out much, much better. Our waiter was a slightly older gentleman whose personality was larger than life. He was so awesome and friendly. They brought out some free bread for us which we could dip in some olive oil (their olive oil is really good I have to say) and then we also got the calamari which was excellent. The breading was super light and it tasted very fresh as well. I got the pasta with little clams and my date got the meat lasagna. I usually order the pasta vongole dish at any Italian restaurant I go and theirs was one of my new favorites. There was no shortage of clams and the white wine sauce was exquisite. The meat lasagna was also fantastic and my date noted that the pasta was greenish and had a savory flavor. This Italian restaurant checks off all the boxes! Service was great, ambience was family friendly and cozy, and the food was terrific. The Calamari Fritti O alla Griglia (fried calamari with spicy tomato said) was a nice start. It was very lightly crispy and not greasy like other calamari I've had in the past. The pastas were excellent! They tasted so fresh and homemade. I would definitely recommend both the Lasagna alla Partenopea (homemade meat lasagna) and the Vermicelli con Vongole o Cozze (vermicelli with baby clams and white wine). It was okay. I was expecting more. I didn't like that in the middle of the day on a Wednesday when no one else was in the dining room they sat us next to the kitchen doors so the traffic was constant and it tends to be where the waiters stop to chat. Try eating with someones butt right in your face. The food however was quite good. I've never had garlic flatbread like that and I'll probably give it another try just for a fix. read more

Ordered takeout recently that included the Caesar Salad, Margherita Pie and Eggplant Parmigiana side. Salad was wilted and did not look or taste fresh. We are just moved in the area couple months ago and honestly this place is one of the best so far. They have absolutely stunning vegan pasta dish,just getting hungry thinking of it and whole atmosphere is cozy,family friendly and service is really professional. It's a place you want to like when you enter--cozy feel, buzz, etc., Sadly, food was forgettable. They promoted their bolognese, which we tried. Ooof. It was largely tasteless and runny. My mushroom marsala sauce was effectively burned, etc. They're also the only restaurant I've seen that adds a credit card's 3% charge in addition to your food. Their prices are not low enough to not find this a $ grab. They have an enormous wine list and based on the number of middle-aged folks attached to the bar on a Tuesday afternoon that may be their profit center. Apparently they have live music. This is probably the best Italian restaurant in Vienna. Don't be fooled by the glowing burned wood in the gigantic brick oven, it is fueled by natural gas. The oven was imported from Italy. First of all, I went to International School of Pizzas (and actually graduated!) so I know a thing or two about pizzas even though I am non Italian. This is the first restaurant I ordered a Magherita. A bit too soft but otherwise lives to its name. A pizza served to queen Margaret. I only finished 1 big slice because the delicious calamari did me in. lightly fried and tender, not at all bouncy. dipped in a spicy mariana sauce. My husband ordered lasagna with meat balls. He could not finish because the portion was huge. He managed to finish it later that night. First time in a long time that he loved the lasagna. The servers were very attentive and courteous. They situated us and took order promptly. I found this place by accident, Earlier that afternoon, I told the host I entered the wrong place looking for ice cream. She said we only have gelato, and only 4 flavors: Chocolate, Pistaschio, strawberry and Vanilla. I ordered the strawberry and Vanilla. Amazing ice cream. Some will correct me "it's gelato" whatever, great dessert before the meal. Needless to say, we will return. I am not a vegetarian to say the least but was really craving a white sauce so I got the vegetarian lasagna. Totally yummy and hearty that I didn't miss the meat at all! Giving it THREE stars NOT because of the FOOD/ SERVICE. Food and service are FIVE star BUT they just started charging a extra 3% credit card fee. So on top of tax and tip you have to pay this new CC fee. I understand inflation and prices are going up for everything BUT charging a CC fee makes the restaurant look BAD. People can understand increases in food and drink prices BUT a random CC charge seems very out of place. My other issue is, I was NOT told about the NEW charge until I got the bill. I am also wondering if I paid cash would they have taken the fee off? If that is the case and they want people to pay cash, they should incentivize that. Give people 10% off for paying cash instead of penalizing people for paying with a CC. I have been going to this place for years. I love their food and their service but this new CC fee is a major TURN OFF. I hope the owner changes direction on this. People can stomach menu prices going up, but a random fee is not customer friendly!! read more

Came to this place looking for authentic Italian and omg it was amazing!!!! Best Italian I've had in a while. It has a homemade feeling and the service was really caring. They were able to switch out potatoes for pasta and double checked to make sure we got what we wanted. Overall I felt welcomed and happy to support this small business! Will definitely be back.
