Staff is super friendly and helpful...on the day I was there, it was fairly crowded (which is generally a good sign, in my opinion) and I had to wait an extra few minutes because the staff was working on orders - not a problem for me. But, they acknowledged me and apologized for the delay, which I told them was no worries at all. Kind and appreciated gesture. My Husband and I visited for lunch. My husband ordered a Ahi and Salmon combo bowl. He appreciated that the portion sizes were good and that the fish was fresh. They also had a big variety of different bulls available here. You can even get a whole bowl with a pound of fish. The staff was very customer service friendly and after we sat down the place started to get really packed. I appreciated that they had clean tables in booth seating. I got takeout here for my family. I ordered two bowls: Nami (half classic shoyu and half Cali salmon with ginger) and Cali (salmon with a light sesame glaze and a side of ginger). Both bowls were bursting with really fresh fish and lots of healthy ingredients (eg. jalapeno, furikake, cucumber, seaweed, carrots, green onions, brown rice, etc.). Seriously delicious bowls! Wow! I had an amazing experience here. My boyfriend and I came for lunch on a Sunday and it was honestly fantastic. To start, the man working (I didn't catch his name but he had a beard and a cap) he was incredibly kind. He helped us direct the whole menu and would let us try the different fish to make sure we liked it. Second the ambiance was great in here! We had a 7-8 hour drive back home, so we couldn't go back, but definitely would recommend asking for a side of sauce (some ponzu would've made this bowl 10/10)! I want to start off by saying that this is by far the best poke we've had on mainland. The worst part about coming back to mainland after having poke in Hawaii is that it's damn near impossible to find good poke even on the coast of California. Came here today on 4/23. I'm a pretty simple gal, I usually gravitate towards shoyu ahi but today we got the spicy garlic ahi and the spicy ahi, half pound each with 2 orders of rice. We don't really care for sides unless we're really craving them, so we opted out of those. But if anyone's interested they do serve a variety of toppings and sides, spam musubis and they even got mac salad. Service was great, friendly & helpful. The spot is very clean, doesn't smell fishy inside!!! This is a wonderful small owned business that deserves recognition. If we're ever in town again, we will definitely be coming back.
