You can build up your poke bowl, choose your base, protein, toppings and sauce. They also have signature bowls and wide selection of drinks. They have regular bowl with three scoops of protein and large bowl with four scoops of protein, signature bowls, and kids bowls. They also have many drinks like smoothies, fruit teas, matcha latte, milk teas, fresh milk, and açai bowls. We got large poke bowls. The quantity was huge. The seafood was very fresh, savory and abundant. The toppings were generous too. We also tried Strawberry fresh milk. It was refreshing. The young staff were very friendly and attentive. My poke bowl was good, fast, generously sized, and only $20. Poking Poki is located in a small strip mall across from Carlsbad State Beach. There are a few tables inside, but the space is fairly austere. My guess is they do a lot of takeout. I tend to gravitate toward poke since I can choose my own ingredients, and I'm a big fan of salmon sashimi. Poking Poki did a nice job building my custom bowl, though I would have liked more sauce options, especially non-spicy choices. That said, I'd happily order another bowl here, even if they serve them in square containers. Maybe they should call them "poke squares"? Tip: The large bowl is truly large. This Poke place is located in the heart of Carlsbad Village and was the perfect snack for me and my family after an afternoon strolling and shopping through the Village. It'd call it the Chipotle of Poke, where you can pick your protein(s) and toppings. Everything was so fresh and filling. The spicy tuna and ahi tuna were incredible, and we had it over a bed of lettuce as well as the chips. We had it with the spicy mayo and soy sauce. Foot traffic was steady and lines comes in waves as groups of people come in. There isn't much seating so I consider us lucky that we found a table. My husband ordered a regular poki bowl (3 proteins) and I got the veggie bowl (tofu as the protein). I didn't want multiple proteins in my bowl so it was just the right amount. I had half salad and half chips as my base and my husband had brown rice for his. We both enjoyed the flavor and size of our order. When we were done, I decided to have some boba. I ordered the strawberry matcha with almond milk & peach popping boba. I should have asked for the receipt since I did t realize there was also regular boba added to it too when I got my order. I had the sweetness reduced to 1/2 and it was still a bit sweet for me so I think I would ask for less if I get it next time. Overall, great poki place to stop by when you're in Carlsbad. SOFT OPENING! This Poki Poki just opened up in Carlsbad with soft opening hours 11a-8p! It's right next to Board and Brew and 7 Eleven. I've gone to other locations in Encinitas and coming to this location, it is so much bigger! I love that it's just a 5 min walk to the beach. There's way more tables to dine in, a lot of space, and they have new drink options, boba and alcohol! I came in with my girlfriend and we got a regular poke bowl. Prices are pretty average. What sets this place apart is the selection of sauces and toppings. WOW! So many to choose from but my favorite sauces are the regular poke sauce and as of today it's the spicy miso (not mayo). Great service on a Wednesday night, not very busy so we could order right away. I eat gluten free, so they told me to avoid the following: seaweed salad, eel sauce, miso sauce, imitation crab, tempura flakes, and the house/Hawaiian (?) sauce. All their proteins are GF (I got seared ahi tuna, regular ahi, and salmon), they have a GF ponzu sauce (you have to ask for it) and a lot of their toppings were GF. They also have spicy sauces that are GF: sriracha and wasabi mayo. The regular bowls are massive, so much protein! And pretty tasty. We sat in the store for a few minutes while they made our fruit tea with boba (also delicious) and the place was very clean. This place is fantastic, great find, we'll be back! (Reason I gave 4-stars: I couldn't figure out what was GF from their website, so I only felt comfortable ordering in person. We got the large and were able to share between 2 people. The large consists of 4 proteins and their scoops are not stingy at all! We got tuna & seared tuna & salmon with only non spicy poke sauce. Next time we will probably ask for more sauce or a differently type of sauce to enhance the flavors.
