She took the time to review those haircut photo books with me and double checked the length I wanted (since I was drastically going from long to short hair lol). I'm extremely disappointed because this place usually does a fantastic job (small lady with glasses reg staff) and I leave very happy and tip a lot. But this entire interaction leads me to believe some form of insecurity and sabotage was at play. You completely ignored my instructions. I told you to leave my hair long but you didn't. You indicated to me using your hand to touch an area on my back that was upper back/lower shoulder area where would my hair would be but you cut to my neck. I told you to cut a total of 10 inches and you cut almost 17. Pictures included. I will never return here again and strongly recommend anyone else to not come here unless you want your hair to look chopped strands of hay like mine. It doesn't matter if you have to pay more somewhere else just do it! You cut my hair in a way that it will take 3 years to grow back each strand to original length, 1.5 years for marketability, and at least 6 months before I can wear it without a small pony tail. You didn't even use water. Please everybody go somewhere else and treat yourself right. The person that did this to me was the manager/owner. The previous 5 star reviews perhaps reflects her earlier passion in her craft, however now she has completely lost the plot. The one that cut my hair was very hostile. No smile, no welcoming vibe, no attention during the haircut, no conversation, didn't even ask me if l I was dating anyone like they usually do, didn't even talk to me in vietnamese. I told her to cut 10 inches and that it's for my mom since she's losing her hair. I'm not donating. It's strictly for my mom. So she ties it in a ponytail and cuts it off because that's how Love for Locks needs it. She clearly cut a foot off and even more for the sloppy layering portion - which is more than the 10 inches I requested which warrants an automatic refund no matter what. She had the nerve to argue with me and tell me she has been cutting hair for 30 years and cuts for Locks for Love all the time. So what? Why is this a competition? I don't need 30 years of existence to know bs when I hear it. I already told her that it's not being donated to an organization it's FOR MY MOM. We have our own person to do the hair extensions for her. This could have been much better had she been more welcoming or even professional about the interaction. Her face was completely hostile and never said hello to me. Never smiled at all! NEVER OFFERED TO FIX THE HAIRCUT! Worse, when I asked for a refund, she accused me of only caring about money! COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL and UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR. If you think I'm lying, pull up the camera and audio. There's not enough money in the world to bet on it and for you to pay me out. If it were all about money, you would compensate me for the work I've lost due to this haircut! What happened to the customer always being right? Especially for a haircut? That bond is sacred and you broke it. When I returned later for a refund, after the argument, she gave me $15 back which is more than the $14 ($12 + $2 tip) that I had given since I'm sure she knew deep down in her soul it was a bad haircut - not done with 30 years of loving your profession but with 30 years of wanting another job because that's exactly how it looks. I told you to cut 10 inches and you clearly cut over 12 inches of my hair. Usually, people feel BETTER after getting a haircut but you managed to make me feel SHITTIER for sticking up for myself after you cut OVER THE REQUESTED 10 INCHES OF MY HAIR. Edit 1: Added more photos with tape measure. She said the F word to me when I came for my refund. Edit 2: I went back to calmly inquire about surveillance footage from our interaction. Turns out, the stylist that cut my hair was the MANAGER. When I laughed in surprise, other staff laughed with me in response. She refused to provide her name, refused to cooperate, and threatened legal action. In addition, she was completely hostile and yelled at me, chased me down until I was entering my car and she was still yelling at me from the front entrance. She again emphasized she's been cutting hair for 30 years. Never attempted to apologize or resolve the situation in any professional capacity. I formally filed a complaint and reported her unprofessional behavior to The California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology. I found her licensing number through the board as well. Edit 3: I cannot in good conscience recommend anyone to get their haircut here. Especially if you have nice, healthy, virgin hair. The manager treat me with disgust and could not wait to give me the dirtiest haircut possible! Would she be happy wearing this haircut? Definitely not! She threatened legal action against me when I asked for a refund. Well, she better get her ass ready for court because I WILL see her there. Not a matter of if but when. You cost me my dreams and many gigs. It will take at least a year and a half to grow my 6 inches. read more

This is an easily overlooked nail salon in a tight mini strip mall, adjacent to the Stater Brothers on Magnolia and Chapman. Right next to the 7-11. They do hair and nails. It's decor is utilitarian. And all sorts of products and tools are available to handle and purchase. They even have the missing sized piece for my electric trimmer. It's like going to an old fashioned hardware store. Charmingly old school. The staff are fine individuals and I've enjoyed some lively discussions there. This time, I took a day off work cause I was burned out from my work in healthcare and needed to do some self care. I came on a Wednesday in the mid morning. One customer was there and two ladies were idle. The dear who usually cares for me wasn't there yet. Anna gave me a meticulous manicure and pedicure. No other customers arrived for more than an hour and by then my regular lady was there. Anna was thorough as can be. She paid attention throughout. Mindfully, gently cleaning, scraping, cutting and shaping; Anna provided Burke Williams level of care. I cannot recall any better in my 40 years of patronage at nail salons and spas. I am grateful for the experience. read more

I was not happy with the service that I got. I got my hair colored there. We agreed on medium blonde, but the color was actually brown. She left many splotches in my hair including a large white spot on the very top of my head that I cannot cover. Nothing is even, and you can see so many mistakes. I just went there to see what she might do to fix it, but I got a lot of runaround and a lot of telling me I did not know what I was talking about, when clearly she did a horrible job on my hair. This is the best place I've been to for a mani/pedi or acrylics. Please ask for Christine (she is the BEST)! The spa mani/pedi is $20, how much cheaper can it be?! Even for this low price, she takes her time to do your nails. My mani/pedi usually takes 75-90 mins. The massage is longer than you would expect. Christine is tedious, careful, and incredibly good at what she does. She does an amazing job on acrylics too. There are never bubbles and it lasts a long time. I wash my hand a million times a day and it still doesn't lift. I AM ALWAYS SATISFIED when I leave the place. She also takes time to shape and file your nails perfectly! I love her! read more

I've been going here since I was young, and now my whole family goes. The women who work here are incredible and hard workers. The prices are shockingly low for how meticulous they are & detail-oriented. Service is great too & they've always made us feel at home. I'm sad to hear that the recent lockdown has lead their business to have to shut down yet again, but when this latest lockdown is over, I highly recommend getting your nails done here. Really like this salon. Went in on a random day for eyebrow waxing. One woman acknowledged me right away and let me know there was a few minute wait and then helped me as soon as the room was available. The lady was really nice and when someone came into the room to tell her something, she spoke in Vietnamese but let me know what they were talking about so I didn't feel like they were talking about me. She talked to me about her knowledge of eyebrow care and made some suggestions. From this experience, I felt like she was really caring and friendly. Tracy is such a great owner! My family has known Tracy and Helen for several years...they always do such a great job on nails, facials and hair color. Haircuts are so-so if you are not too picky. Cheap prices and walk-ins never wait too long. The 7 Eleven next door gets some wierdos at times....but the upside is their servide goes above and beyond! read more

I went for waxing hands n legs, the lady Anh who attended me took almost 3 hours, the lady manager looked all pissed off and over charged me because her worker apperantly took 3 hours and kept blaming me like it was all my fault, that her worker took 3 hours. Plus she used face wax on my body, that was ridiculously hurting, and there are still tonns of hair all over my hand and leg. She used more plucker than wax. Not recommending for anyone to go here read more

I went in on a Sunday to get a haircut and dye my hair. I told the lady that helped me, who happens to be the manager, I wanted an ombré look. She said she could do that. She began to put color on my hair and after my hair was washed and dry I looked at my hair and it was NOT an ombré. I told her it looked choppy and it was not supposed to look that way. She said that's how an ombré is. And I showed her more pictures to show how the ombré is supposed to look. She then told me "okay I got it now" so she said she would "blend" it more. Well all she did was bring the dye up more. But it was still choppy. After the second time she told me she thought I wanted it that way. And I said no, I want an ombré. It's supposed to be a gradient effect and my hair did not look that way. She told me again and again "that is how her customers like an ombré and that's how it is". 4 hours later my hair is damaged and looks like I let a 5 year old dye my hair. I originally told her I wanted to keep the roots my natural hair color but after the second time didn't come out good she suggested putting toner on my entire hair so that it would "blend" the colors. Well that lightened my natural hair and it didn't "blend" anything. The results looked the same. I called to get a refund because they could not provide the service I went in for. And she told me that my expectations were too high for them. Wow! I wish she would have told me that in the beginning. I had to go to another hair salon to fix what she did to my hair. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone, for anything! read more
