Kristin is a phenomenal makeup artist! I have worked with…read moreseveral stylists and makeup artists over the years for family, maternity, and boudoir photo sessions and Kristin is by far my favorite makeup artist. She has a fun, gregarious personality. She gave me valuable insight about skincare and makeup application tips all while giving me the best soft glamorous look that I have ever had for my latest family photo session. I received lots of compliments on my look. I absolutely plan to book an application class with her this year and to enlist her services for all of my future special occasion and professional makeup needs.

Kristin is amazing!! I am so glad that my hair stylist referred me to her. From the moment that I…read morebooked her, I knew that I would have an amazing experience. She quickly contacted me (like within 5-10 minutes) after I used her online booking portal to gather more details and to confirm my appointment time and location. She was transparent from the beginning and let me know that she had an appointment right before mine and that depending on where I was located, she may not be able to meet my time request. She quickly determined that I was within 5 minutes from her other appointment so she would be able to get to me in time. I proceeded to pay my deposit and I also received several texts and emails leading up to my appointment to confirm. On the day of, Kristin arrived early! She let me know when she was on her way, when she was parking (I was at a hotel) and when she was headed up to my room. I opened the door to a smiling face and a warm personality. Of course I enjoyed getting my makeup done but I also enjoyed getting to know Kristin and learning more about her. She's just an awesome person. So how did she do? Well not only was she quick, I have never loved my makeup as much as I loved it when Kristin did it. I've been to many makeup artists and Kristin is my favorite. I like a natural look and I don't like makeup to feel or look heavy. I couldn't even tell she had put foundation on me. I thought she was joking when she asked how heavy it felt. I received so many compliments at my event and of course I felt beautiful as well. I highly recommend Kristin to anyone. She is a professionally trained makeup artist who has been in the industry for years and it shows. I cannot wait to book my next appointment!!

I love Joseph in the salon! Listened to what I want and executes every look all the time. Very…read moresweet and nice as well which is hard to feel comfortable in the chair for me sometimes because I have so much hair. The workers in the store were nice and helpful as well.

I had the most horrible experience at Ulta Fairfield with Lorna C. Her profile says "elite stylist"…read morebut I'm unsure how she got that title being that the only hair she can service is someone with straight hair. Her profile also says that she services "curls, coils and waves" this is obviously not the case.  Today April 26 I had an appointment for my 12 year old daughter, Rosalyn for a twist out style. Rosalyn came in with two buns. Ms Lorna was working on an older white lady and when we walked in her attitude changed. She said to me in front of everyone "IS HER HAIR DETANGLED?? HER HAIR NEEDS TO BE COMBED OUT!" I said "yes her hair is detangled it's just in buns." I did detangle her hair before coming in she only had gel left over that needed to be washed out. Ms. Lorna then gave me a brush and dismissed me to comb my daughter's hair. I combed through it again while she finished up on her clients hair, which was very embarrassing. After combing out Rosalyn's hair I told her to go ahead and sit in Ms. Lorna's chair and this time she tells me "I don't think I can detangle this hair because.." and she points at her wrist. She did not even ATTEMPT to comb through her hair she simply said she can not do it. At this point I just said okay and we left with out getting any service done. No apology. No nothing.  Black women and little girls already go through stigma and negative stereotypes about our hair being "difficult" and hard to manage. And usually it by our own race unfortunately. That's why they are always pushing perms because they are just lazy.  I try to shield my child from that as much as possible but today she saw the ugly side. We sat there and watched this lady give this white lady the best customer service and then treat us like crap. My question is this Ms. Lorna, how are you an elite stylist and can not comb through hair?  Needless to say I will never visit Ulta in Fairfield because of the discrimination that my daughter and I experienced today!
