These guys are awesome!! I took my MacBook Pro to the "Geniusless Bar" at the Apple store. My MacBook display wasnt working. They told me I would likely need a new motherboard and sent me on my way. Frustrated, as I don't use my MacBook all that much, I took it to PC Wizard. They had my MacBook for less than 48 hours and were able to fix the real issue for under $100. I have been using PC Wizard for a number of years. They've done great work on my ThinkPads and other eraser-head model laptops during that time. I'm the one that's always asking to increase RAM etc. and they always say "let's check it first to see if you actually need it". This time around they thought the increased the RAM help my 64Bit machine. They also installed a new hard drive on my latest two-year-old ThinkPad without performing a full-blown new formatting of the new drive. (Doubling the size of the original.) They are very thorough - working hard at cleaning things up to make it run faster and more smoothly. I have total confidence in these folks. The young woman who did the intake of my laptop this time around advised me to and also how to - reduce the size of my PST file in Outlook (21GB's!). Thanks, Steve and Co.! First I will start with the service.. They fixed my Laptop,, that is #1.. As for the initial customer service thats the only reason they dont get a 5 star from me. The person who answered the phone was a little miss leading when he said "bring it were not to busy", soon as I said awesome I will be right down he said "we will need it for a few days. I was hoping for a in & out thing, I cant be w/out it due to work and play. I made do with my phone and an old laptop. 2 days later I stopped by on the way to work to check on things, they was finishing doing whatever to it. The tech was awesome and explained some stuff to me. I had/ have questions but needed to be to work so Monday I will be stopping by. Overall even with the fact I was under the impression it would be quick and it wasnt still worth the money I spent. I recently called PC Wizard after having been a customer of theirs before. While my computer issue wasn't "code red", I asked the person who answered the phone if there was a day this week or next that might be a little less hectic for them, as I use my laptop to run two different businesses and being without it for several days would be quite the hardship. He wasn't really interested in helping me out, was fairly rude and I hung up feeling like I really didn't want to support them with my business. So I called a local IT person I know and had a great experience. It's frustrating to be a reasonable, paying customer and to be treated like they are doing you major favors in taking the business.
