This place is a joke. The customer service is horrible. My husband and I arrived 30 minutes before the store closed and decided to eat inside. Most of the chairs were already flipped up again 30 minutes before they were scheduled to close. There are no signs that say the lobby closes before drive thru. We stood and waited almost 10 minutes before someone finally acknowledged us and came to take our order. My husband and I were the only ones in the lobby. The girl who I will assume is named Samira because that is the name on our receipt very rudely asked us for our order. After taking our order she said she needed to take our card to the drive thru register because the registers in the lobby were already closed down. Again, 30 minutes before they're scheduled to close. She didn't tell us our total, just charged our card and handed back to us with the receipt wrapped around it. We didn't get our food until 9:52 and then all of the workers decided to get louder and louder I assume in effort to make my husband and I eat faster and leave. Samira also put our name on the receipt as "dineeeeeee in" instead of the name we gave her. I don't understand how people coming into the job that pays you to be there and spend money are a huge inconvenience to you. Maybe you're not cut out for customer service babes. We've been twice now and both times the service was excellent and food was great. For being fast food their chicken strips taste homemade to me. I tend to have a problem with chicken strips at most restaurants (esp Chick Fil A) because of the fake premade frozen and reheated taste. I can honestly say I love the chicken at PDQ enough to go back again and again. The restaurant has been absolutely clean as can be both times we went and that's important to me. I hate eating at a restaurant where the tables and floor are dirty. It's in a great location as well. I also love how they have several varieties of made daily sauces for the tenders also! Update since I started this draft we went again and once again everything was to perfection. This was my first experience at a PDQ and I love this place! The food was amazing and I especially loved the zucchini fries (an alternative to regular fries)! OK .... This place has amazing chicken sandwiches and chicken strips... we Were driving through and were like what is PDQ? So I looked it up... HMMM? Well they turned that into YUMMMM! The food it's so good--- I was out there from California and at there 7 times in 3 weeks... taking friends and family to try my new favorite! They have an open kitchen concept so you can see them make your food fresh for you!! Everyone was friendly and personable! I suggest the honey butter chicken sandwich, club sandwich or the Thai chicken bowl! All were excellent!! Can't wait to go back to Florida for some PDQ!!!! read more

Ok..... So I stand corrected. I was contacted for my review here and given the opportunity to have my impression changed. Hard sale??? I don't think so, but let's groove! I took the entire family to PDQ for a second opinion.... I met with Charlie, the Ops Manager. He took us on a tour where we found no freezers for the "frozen food" that I thought we were served last time. I am shocked that it's all fresh! It was pretty dang clean to boot. Let's talk meal.... He served us an entire meal that was top-shelf. Everything was fresh! I had the turkey sandwich that was fried. It was delicious. So fresh and crunchy but not dripping with grease. The fries were made to order and the sauce was homemade too!!! Let's talk treats. Each milkshake was specially made just for my family and it was thick. Went in with my two kids Wednesday afternoon - before 5p. I was obviously being struggled with my 4yr old and 16mo old. This is definitely NOT the service from Chic Fila. No one offered to help me with anything, while they watched me run two sides of the restaurant collected kids. The food here is pretty god and the style is similar to a Chick Fila. Since they serve Cheerwine, I"m thinking they are a North Carolina based chain. Chicken features prominently on their menu and one of their menu items is a chicken sandwich that looks like a chick fila chicken sandwich. Also like Chick Fila, the restaurant has an aversion to onions. The decor and vibe is nice and your food is delivered to you by a guy in chef's whites. It's a nice change of pace and the menu reflects of a bit more sit down restaurant than a fast food place. read more

Pretty Damn Quick indeed... I had never heard of this chain a week ago, but after seeing them all over the Tampa area, I wanted to try one on the way back to God's Country. The Ocala location looks to the be the newest and the last chance to try PDQ as you head north (or "South", as it were) PDQ is not far off the interstate, and is a chicken tender (or "fingers" if you're from my neck of the woods) restaurant, reminiscent of Zaxby's and Guthrie's, among others. It also has a drive through, which was what we did The menu is relatively simple, comprising various-sized boxed of chicken tenders and some sandwich options. The sandwiches didn't look as good or affordable as the tenders. A box of 4 tenders, fries, and a drink came in somewhere around $8-$9 dollars. Service was fast, although my drink order got mixed up (I guess my accent is too thick. I was asking for "Sweet Heat" sauce and got "Sweet Tea" for a drink) - no bid deal. Oh, I mean REAL FAST - like, straw-not-yet-in-drink-nor-wallet-in-pocket fast. Wow. They moved three cars in and out before I could blink. I REALLY liked the food. The chicken tenders were better than Zaxby's easily, and rival Guthrie's. The breading was not too heavy in my opinion, nicely peppered, and just generally made the chicken taste very good. The fries were also surprisingly good. They were small little fries, like Whataburger, but much better than WhatWhats. The only problems - the Sweet Heat sauce was TERRIBLE. Like inedible bad. Don't get it - stick with honey mustard, barbecue, or their other sauces. Also, the sweet tea was really nasty (not improved by the fact that I hadn't ordered it) - like, worse than McDonald's Brisk-level bad. And, in fact, it was probably instant. Not only was it not sweet enough, but it had the bad aftertaste of instant tea. As it turns out, when I returned to my vehicle after getting gas next door, most of my fries were eaten. "Oh not you don't, take me to Zaxby's!" I said. I got a fried mushroom to replace the fries and ordered a Zax Sauce which solved my nasty-sauce problem. So, in sum, this will definitely be a top choice for me next time I am on I-75 and hungry near the Horse Capital of the World. read more

PDQ is a great place for casual chicken based dishes. The atmosphere is your standard fast casual dining restaurant. The service is very fast with friendly and knowledgeable staff. They answer all questions patiently and accurately. The food is pretty good considering the price point. The salads have a good amount of chicken and the tachos are a fantastic guilty pleasure. There are plenty of healthy options in addition to fried choices. The bathrooms are very cleanly as well as the rest of the restaurant. Tables are cleaned well and efficiently. I really liked this place! We were in Ocala getting pictures taken and stopped here for a quick bite before we needed to be back to view our proofs. The restaurant is very modern and clean. Apparently PDQ stands for "people dedicated to quality," and I found this to be true. All meals will run you about $8 and feature chicken tenders. My husband has a buffalo sandwich that he enjoyed, and I had a fried chicken tender salad with honey mustard dressing. Super good. For sides they have French fries (thin and crispy) and blueberry coleslaw. I was intrigued by the coleslaw, but it was just a drier coleslaw with a few blueberries and poppyseed. It was good but nothing special. We had a little extra time and each got a milkshake as they are half off everyday from 3-5. They were good. I would definitely come back for a quick, tasty meal! read more

PDQ.... it stands for People Dedicated to Quality, and I'm not kidding!!! I went this afternoon with work colleagues, because they absolutely raved about it, but, honestly, they sell fried chicken breasts and nuggets.... albeit hand breaded and freshly made, and they also have fried turkey breast sammies as well. Their claim to fame is the array of home made sauces, of which there are quite a variety, and their blueberry cole slaw. Talk about a refreshing hit in your mouth! They also have a few salads for those that want a healthier choice.... Bottom line, the menu (to me) is limited, so, they better be good! That being said, what they do have going besides the food, is the wholesomeness of the place; its energetic, its lively, its clean and just a fun experience. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because its almost a reinvention of a ChickFilA or a Zaxby's only on a smaller scale, and maybe that's the intent. I really disliked my experience. I'm the type who could live off of chicken tenders, but not PDQ's. The chicken was miniature in size, greasy, and when you took a bite all of the breading fell off. On 6/8/18, I went through the drive through and ordered the Buy One Get one free on the chicken tenders and 3 orders of fries. I paid for my order and was handed 2 bags. I was told everything was in the bags. When I got back to work, One bag had the tenders and the other bag had lots of sauces. There were no fries. I called the location back and told them i did not get my fries. The rude guy on the phone began to lecture me that they are not suppose to do the buy one get one through the drive through. I don't care whatever the internal policies of this store are! I care about getting what i paid for. The guy told me he was going to mail me something to make up for lack of fries. I ordered the burger, and after ordering, a super tall guy came up to the person taking the order and told her to tell me that they were all out of burger until the next day. Two mysteries here. 1. First time trying out this joint and I am impressed. The French Fries are seasoned perfectly and are just the right amount of crunchy. The chicken tenders could have been better. My expectations were pretty high since this is suppose to be an amazing place.. The tenders tasted just like Zaxbys, in my opinion (which is perfectly fine) I will say the BBQ chipotle dipping sauce was phenomenal. The sweet tea is also very good, but you can't really mess up sweet tea. Since the drive thru line wasn't wrapped around the building, like it normally is, I received my meal in record time. This was my first time trying PDQ. Me and my family were very happy with everything we tried. The chicken is very tender and juicy. I really like the spices in the batter and I like that it is a light batter that is not too heavy. I had my chicken on a salad and added the buffalo sauce and their blue cheese dressing. It was a very fresh salad and I loved their sauce and dressing. My kids had the apples as a side and the caramel sauce is very different and so tasty. I tried my husbands french fries and they taste just like home made fries. Overall an excellent experience and I will be back soon. read more

Thoroughly impressed with this establishment. Though we read reviews frequently while traveling through a place, we rarely write them; this place deserves the write up. It is fast casual - healthy options (grilled chicken on salad) and lots of things made fresh in house. The homemade lemonade is delicious - they were juicing the lemons as we walked in. The staff were happy to be there, and the food was good.
