We are very happy with the replacement of our pool pump. Greg made a few trips over to our place for the initial check-in and the actual pump installation. Arrived 45 min late and then quoted me $821 dollars to replace my entire heater assembly only because a small plastic screw-on union was broken. The tech that came to my house said the part was no longer available so I thought I'd check for myself. Found it easily at an online spa parts store for $7 and ordered it. It fits perfectly. I also decided to check the price on that replacement heater. Turns out I could buy the model they quoted me for almost ONE THIRD of PDQ's price gouging quote. I'm willing to guess their $275 installation charge is also overblown. I have PDQ's ridiculous quote and it burns me up that I threw away $150 for their tech to come to my house and lie about parts availability. This is nothing short of price gouging people who aren't familiar with hot tubs. STAY AWAY from this company! read more

My spa has been out of service for almost two years due to bad chemistry management by me. I purchased the spa about 8 years ago from Costco. PDQ came out last summer and gave me a quote to have the heater replaced as well as piping since the manufacturer no longer made the old heater model. It was an expensive fix, so I waited till I had the cash. I called them back up about a month ago and gave them the thumbs up to proceed with the repair. I got a call about a week later letting me know the price of the heater replacement part had gone up and they wouldn't order until I approved the price change. I approved, they ordered. About 10 days later the part was in and they were ready to schedule for the next day. They were in and out in about 90 minutes. I was so impressed with the service and expertise. We had issues with our pool pump tripping the breaker - turned out to be a bad pump. It was busy season and we were up against a deadline to get the pool up and going for my daughter's graduation party. PDQ was responsive, and Greg went out of his way to squeeze us in on two Saturdays (one to troubleshoot and one to replace pump). American Home Shield sent PDQ to us, and usually, the service from AHS vendors are subpar. Not so with PDQ. I called on Monday morning and spoke with very courteous Paul about my dead hot tub. Since the outside temperature was freezing, I worried about a frozen hot tub. He assured me they would get service to me as soon as possible and sooner if the temp took a sudden downturn. He called back on Tuesday, ready to schedule on Wednesday. I chose PDQ Spa Service after calling two other highly rated spa repair companies on Angie's List: Oregon Hot Tub, whose representative did not have very good phone skills, charged $149 for the first 30 minutes of a service call (compared to $89 for PDQ) and M & M Spa Repair Company who did not answer either of two phone calls. The service technician arrived at the midpoint of the two hour arrival window, repairing two leaks. After the first half-hour, the hourly rate was $95. Parts totaled $67 and labor $160 for total of $227, but with an Angie's list discount, the final bill was $204. read more

So, not happy with PDQ SPA Service. I called and talked to Paul about my non-working Jacuzzi tub. The switch wasn't working (water was coming out of it) and the motor was buzzing. The parts on the tub have a lifetime warranty. I gave Paul the model number and serial number as it's registered with Jacuzzi. Paul asked if it was. He said the switch and motor most likely needs replacement. Well the Tech showed up with no parts. Said he didn't have any info (model number and serial number) which I said Paul had. I call Paul again to set up a new date. It would be awhile as I was out of town. I called again last week and we figured Wednesday could work, he'd call back. He did. Tuesday. We set up for Wednesday afternoon. The tech arrive with all the parts and fixed the tub in about 1/2 an hour. That, I'm happy with. The bill for $270, I'm not!! I was billed for $145 for the 15 mins the tech was here the first time!! The service call should have been $125. Then I was told I got a discounted time for the second visit for $125, which was the normal service charge. All would have been fine if the tech was prepared the first time. I would have happily paid the $125. I called Jacuzzi and they said I'm more than welcome to order the warranted replacement parts and fix it myself. That, I'll probably do next time. read more

PDQ is great. I have used them twice for hot tub repairs on an older spa and both experiences have been excellent. I can be a little difficult to get ahold of but when Paul received my message he was diligent in his efforts to communicate, even when I was not able to reply for a day or two. We got an appointment set up, he worked to find a time that would work for me, and they got the job done. In my experience Paul makes each customer and their project a priority. Greg arrived on time, performed the repairs quickly, called to let me know right away that he was finished and made a couple of recommendations, and I could not be happier. I cannot say enough good things about the repair service I got from PDQ. They came out promptly and quickly determined the problem, which was going to require the help of an electrician. PDQ ordered the part for me and had it sent to my home so the electrician could install it for me, saving the expense of another home visit by PDQ. They were quick,courteous and reasonably priced. So I decided to call based on the reviews here for my spa which has two issues, it is leaking from inside the tub and some parts underneath need replacing. Paul advised they do not do structural repair, which is strange for a spa repair company but is fine (I am putting this here so others know). I then asked if he could fix some parts and from there it basically sounded like he didn't even want to help or ask questions. After worrying about access to the plumbing rather than what was wrong (which I reassured several times everything is accessible), he then says he would have to charge me $75 just to come to Gresham from Hillsboro. This is on top of the $125 service fee (covers first 30 minutes) and $95 an hour after that. So that adds up to $295 for two hours of labor. Actual plumbers and electricians charge less and have to do much more than a spa technician. Paul told me I was wrong about that one lol, just do the math man. My advice, go to your local Spa store as they always have someone looking for work at a reasonable price who is actually willing to help you and ask questions. read more
