I'm from out of town, decided to go out and have a couple drinks and see what the towns about. I came in this place last night, the bartender was okay. Kept my drink full. The main issue was the OWNER of the bar was in there drunk as could be. Kept making smart remarks to me and then turning his head away like a scared little kid and laughing like he was funny. He kept telling me over and over he owns the bar to which I told him I don't care who knows the bar, but in a meaner way. He tried to get me to take a shot but I refused and he kept making dumb remarks and hiding by turning away. He then apologized when he could tell I was tired of his act. I paid and left and wouldn't go back in that bar unless it was to beat up the drunken bar owner and his little buddies.. read more

Two bartenders were working and it was obvious one was picking up all of the others slack because he had to yell at the other bartender (the one who had our tab) who wouldn't get us our tab when we wanted to close out (he was too busy socializing with friends). I think bartenders also overserved a young girl who became messily drunk and broke a swing. The girl and her friends were not kicked out when they started calling other customers rude names and making fools of themselves. It was a slow night in the middle of the week so these issues should have been easy to prevent. read more

Located on a street with a multitude of MUCH better places to spend your money, choose ANY other bar!!! I'm visiting from out of town, therefore I have an out of state ID, which the bouncer, Vince, did not like. Vince took it upon himself to decide my ID was fake, it's an Indiana ID that I have had for 4 years, and never had an issue with. Instead of denying me service after I insisted that my ID was real and told him to scan it or call the police to verify if he was unable to scan it, Vince decided that he really wanted to prove me wrong and bent my ID in half while laughing in my face. Keep in mind, I am from out of state and need my ID to travel later this week, which I can no longer use. The other bouncer sent Vince on an "ice run" when I decided to call the police myself to help resolve the situation; they were kind enough to wait with me outside after *shockingly* verifying my very real, now very broken drivers license. Vince hid in Peabody's for 45 minutes instead of coming outside to face the situation that he had created. A word of advice to Peabody's management - I get we are in a labor shortage but maybe learn to police your employees a little bit better because Vince came across as incredibly aggressive and I have no doubt that if I had given more objections instead of stepping back and calling the cops myself, the situation would have escalated on his end. And to you Vince, buddy maybe find another outlet for your anger towards out of towners or find a different job. You are in the hospitality industry and are undoubtably the most inhospitable person I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. read more

Cute bar in the college area. The bartender knew the beers on tap and was helpful. They were having a DJ which is what she said was "live" music lol but we didn't stay for that. Nice TVs to watch the games on. Overall cute laid back atmosphere. read more

Recently took a job in Wisconsin and this place has become my local oasis. The drinks are cheap, and the dice game "shake for shots" is unlike anything I have seen elsewhere in the US. Large outdoor patio and I am told live music is a mainstay during warmer months. read more

DJ that was hosting wouldn't play any requests, music being played was definitely not attracting the crowd, was outdated, and not hyping up the clientele. DJ took the excitement right out of the bar. Wouldn't recommend when this DJ plays here. read more

This is the best bar I've been to in the last five months. Taylor is AMAZING! She completely tailored the drinks to what we wanted & made hand crafted drinks for my group of friends. Hands down, she made the ambience and experience so much more enjoyable. The outdoor area has corn hole and fire pits. This whole environment is so cool and relaxing. Sunday nights at Peabody's is "the place to be in the Fox Valley" thanks to the Jazz Orgy!!!! This live music event is one of the jems in the Fox Vally's crown for sure! The staff is attentive, competent, quick, and sharp whited. The atmosphere is comfortably worn in like one of your favorite jackets. The building has had some upgrades/additions over the years (like the outside bar and patio area) so it is an eclectic blend of tradition and neo hip. You can catch "cool cats" wearing the throwback styles of "yester year" and see "Hip-hopsters" wearing the latest "Paux-fashion", as well as peep the occasional tweeded out fat cordaroy wearing professor bee bopping to the singers scat-attack, and tapping a foot to the freestyle chops of the drummer's solo. I can't find anything wrong with Peabody's. Diverse crowd, cheap bevs. The newly revamped - and heated! - outdoor patio/bar is the icing on the cake. What would Oshkosh do without Peabody's? read more

Great bar with a nice outdoor patio bar. While we were there watching football they had free burgers and chips, a real plus!

Staff was extremely rude. Bartender, Chakera, was unfriendly and not personable. Terrible costumer service!

Walk in, spend a couple-three-four minutes perusing the beer menu (which the bartender was nice enough to wipe the stickiness off of before handing it to me) and order a bottle of porter. That's what I was served. too: a bottle of porter. Pro tip: when you are not presented with a glass with your bottle of ale, you are not in an "Ale House", you are in a low-end bar. A bar with a really good beer list, I'll admit. Confidential to the guy at the bar: I'm pretty sure that girl didn't care what you intended to to in the men's room. I know I wasn't interested in hearing about it. I can't speak for the rest of the patrons, all of whom had to listen to your shouting about your amazing...well, can't print what you said here. Nice if the bartenders would've asked you to tone it down, but there was apparently something interesting on the TVs they were watching. read more

Great place to meet with friends and listen to music. Especially nice in the summer when you can sit outside and sip on some Bells Oberon on tap. Always been a great place for meeting up friends at a summer happy hour or on the weekend for a relaxing afternoon. Makes me excited for summer just thinking about the good times we had last summer. The fun has rolled through the winter but still can't wait to enjoy the outdoor tables again. read more

Great selection of beer, absolutely terrible service. Went in on a Wednesday and the girl behind the bar was trashed... and it was only 9:30! She was more interested in getting herself shots than any of the customers. Nice atmosphere terrible service. My advice: hire some better bartenders, maybe ones that can handle their alcohol! This bar is pricy and the people are "hipsters" by societies standards. The sidebar is the best part about this place excluding jazz orgy on Sunday nights. The bar has a good setup for groups but discussions are difficult due to the placement of speakers. I would recommend jazz orgy for sure. The recent remodel made the bathroom situation much less complicated. The pool room is nice besides the fact woman have to walk around the game in order to "freshen up." read more

First of all...couldn't get the bartender outside to get me a drink so I had to walk inside to get one. ( she only had 10 people at the bar outside) bartender inside didn't even greet me. No smile no personality what so ever. Not even a thank you for the $2 tip for my 2 drinks. Later on i order Another beverage outside (luckily the bartender was alert and not taking a smoke break ) she didn't even bother to give me my change back . I have worked in the service industry for 10 years Never have i experienced such horrible service. I always tip over 20% no matter what but tonight I wouldn't have left a penny! No bathrooms here only outhouses. Horrible service, no bathrooms. Never going there again. read more

This was never my favorite place to drink when I actually lived in Oshkosh but thought we'd give it a try when we were back to visit some friends. Around 1:30am, my girlfriend noticed that her purse was missing. Our group starting searching frantically with no luck. All of the sudden, the male bartender (his name might be Matt but I can't remember) starting berating her and asking if she actually had brought her purse and that he never saw it and, for lack of better words, acting like a complete *sshole. He basically was calling her a liar and then another girl walks in and said that her purse was missing as well. He never apologized or said another thing. Also, we never received any help from the staff or even a kind word. We called the police and waited out in the cold for them to come to file the report. Avoid this place like the plague, its not worth your time and there are WAY better bars just down the street. Stay classy Peabody's. read more
