It's taken a few months for me to write this review but I am so glad that we called Dr. Sarena when it came time for our beloved 17 year old "old lady puppy" to cross the rainbow bridge. Dr. Sarena took my call on a Saturday afternoon and was able to come out on Sunday afternoon. Our dog who has always disliked going to the vet was able to pass peacefully at home surrounded by family. It's never an easy decision when the time comes and your animal is an obvious pain and suffering and it's not going to get any better. Taking our Rottweiler to the vet felt more difficult and emotional than having a peaceful transition at home. We called Peace for Paws on Sunday morning, and three hours later, one of their vets arrived, and was so compassionate, understanding and was very gentle with administering a sedative, and then she gave two different shots due to the size of our dog. It was still very emotional and upsetting, but I felt like way easier than transporting our dog to the vet, which I think would've been much more distressing for our pet. The vet took our pets body away and a week or so later we were able to pick up the ashes at our regular vet. Definitely recommend this service when that difficult time comes. read more

We both placed him in a cradle she had brought and covered him in a red blanket with paw prints on it. He looked so peaceful. I also received a bag and in it was a candle with a paw print in remembrance of my beloved Bentley. Also in the bag was literature on understanding grief and coping with a loss of a companion animal.
