You check yourself in. It's all pretty simple. There isn't always someone working the front desk. So, if you have questions... expect to wait. Otherwise it's a good experience. Unless you are afraid of needles. My phlebotomist was Arie and she was AWESOME!!! One poke and no pain! She got it on the first try! No bruise! Which isn't always the case! (Which is why I am glad I don't have Kaiser anymore!) I will definitely come back to this location again.

So thank you to the staff here. But if I had come in any later I doubt I would have gotten in. I had to fast for my blood testing and also this weird breath test thing I had to do. I didn't wake up and not drink even a drop of water or brush my teeth for nothing. So yes I am very thankful they let me in. Blood tests are fast. The breath test took some waiting of certain amounts of time pre and post drinking of a special drink you have to drink. Its was really easy and streamed lined and I was out very fast. I have to come back for further follow up testing and yes, I made an appointment.

Whenever she is the one helping me, the experience is always a positive one. Whether she is drawing my blood or handling my paperwork, she is consistently kind, patient, professional, and excellent at what she does. That means a lot to me, especially because I often have a lot of tests, which can feel overwhelming. She always handles everything with so much care and understanding, and it truly makes a difference. Also, for anyone concerned about wait times, having an appointment usually makes the process much smoother than walking in.

LABCORP * 1 star. PATRICE ***** 5 stars…read more I wish there were a separate page on which to give a review for a staff person. My two stars are just two of the five and more stars deserved by the hard working, patient staff members working this last Saturday, March 14 morning at this way understaffed location. They deserve five stars for their courage and courtesy. The gentleman at the front desk was, you could sense, way overworked, but holding up well despite all that, and maintaining his courteous, patient self. Thank you, sir! I want to ESPECIALLY commend PATRICE, my technician (I so hope I remembered her name correctly), for her professionalism and her caring interest in her patients. While drawing my blood, Patrice inquired about my amount of daily water intake, I think because my veins are small and difficult to see well. And she proceeded to discuss with me ways to get enough water each day. She was kind, cheerful and interested in me as her patient. This kind of caring is rare. Her draw was also painless. Now back to Labcorp issues. My husband and I have been using this lab for a long time, starting with its location within the hospital building. We have watched it fall off a cliff as the corporation has become way understaffed. Last year, with an appointment, I waited forty five minutes on a Saturday morning for my fasting labs. Yesterday I had a 9:30 a.m. appointment. I got there at 9:15, did my sign in from the car by their new texting sign in system, and got texted right away to come up to the desk inside . My heart rose! The lab lobby was just jammed with patients. My heart sank. But I got called for desk sign in immediately! My heart rose! I did about five more minutes of sign in at the desk, and then got called for my draws within only about five minutes (interestingly, along with several other patients.) My heart sang! I was hopeful! BUT THEN, I waited for a full half hour in the blood draw room. My heart and my hopes for a Labcorp revival plummeted! My husband had a 9:35 a.m. appointment, and waited in total, about 40 minutes to get tested. It would appear that Labcorp is trying to streamline patient processing time by putting in new, automated patient sign in methods, and perhaps changing their patient call in process (8 patients called in at once?) But without enough staff it's pretty useless, besides adding to our overly robotic life experience. There have been many signs of employee burnout over the past year or two at the desk, as well. I truly feel for anyone trying to work for Labcorp these days. One would think that somehow Labcorp could lower their profit goals just enough to provide the kind of quality service that people need. John Muir, WHERE ARE YOU in this matter that is affecting so many lives? We at least need other lab company options. Has Labcorp become a monopoly? We are genuinely puzzled. But again, PATRICE, YOU ARE AN ANGEL! YOU ARE THE ORIGINAL REASON FOR MY WANTING TO WRITE A REVIEW! I hope you can see it through to where Labcorp and John Muir get their act together and can once again provide good service and a really good work experience to worthy employees like you! Thank you for being there!

This is an incredible service for anyone who is sick, homebound, or simply unable to get what they need done at a lab. In my case, the lab actually wouldn't do the bloodwork I needed to donate a kidney, so having someone come to me made the whole process possible. Charity was professional, very communicative, and incredibly gentle and kind during the draw. She made me feel at ease and took care of everything (she came to my house, drew my blood and even took my bloodwork to FedEx for dropoff) I plan on using her services in the future not only for myself, but also for my kids. Having someone trustworthy and skilled come to the house is such a relief! Highly recommended.

My family member coming off the ambulance was immediately put into a room to be assessed. A nurse came right in to check on her. The doctor was there soon after to talk to us. Recently, on a Sunday evening, after our daily walk, she complained of unbearable pain in her lower left back. We called the Moraga-Orinda paramedics and they showed up in 3 minutes! She was given pain killers and rushed to John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek, the closest location for us. At John Muir Emergency Department, she was attended to immediately. The physician, Dr. Kessler, after examining her, immediately opined that it looks like kidney stone! He ordered a CT Scan and a medium to large size kidney stone was confirmed. Dr. Kessler prescribed pain killer, necessary medication and admitted her since the pain was unbearable for her to handle at home. Krystal and Kamala was the first nurse-team we had. They were both excellent, caring and compassionately attended to my wife as often as needed even during the night. After seeing the excruciating pain, they arranged an urologist consulting and a decision was made to do a Ureteroscopy and blast the stone into small fragments/dust. Since this procedure was done only at the Concord location of John Muir, my wife was transported by an excellent ambulance team to Concord location. In Concord, she was given excellent care by RN Mary and RN Emmeline - they were really amazing! My wife needed help often, and the nurses never ever complained (even at night) and helped my wife with a cheerful smile every time! The next two days, she was given outstanding care by Dr. Khan and the nursing team of Sarah and Benjamin. Sarah is very knowledgeable, competent, very compassionate, cheerful and friendly. She followed the protocol strictly for every care-activity and her attention to detail was amazing. For example, she had to check my wife's blood glucose regularly. Every time, Sarah would poke the finger, remove the first drop of blood the comes out with a gauze (since the first drop was in contact with the needle), press the finger to get the next drop and use it to test blood glucose! And, Sarah was training a student nurse and she was painstakingly describing every step of every procedure in great detail to the student while taking excellent care of my wife. The urologist, Dr. Chang, was very friendly, and explained to wife the details of the procedure. His attention to detail was also amazing. Since the kidney stone was in the lest ureter, he used a marker on my wife left leg to highlight that it is the left ureter! The Nurse practitioner from his office, Vivian, scheduled the surgery and communicated with us daily. She showed real concern and empathy for my wife's ordeal. The procedure was successful and the excruciating pain stopped almost immediately afterwards. Dr. Chang had written a detailed description of every step of the procedure in my wife's My Chart - it was comforting to read the detailed report. She was discharged the next day. The care my wife received from the Doctors and Nurses at John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek and Concord was consistently excellent - the quick/initial diagnosis at ER, confirmation through CT Scan, excellent execution of the procedure by the Urologist and the awesome care she received from the Nursing Team after the procedure - all outstanding! We have lived in Contra Costa County for over thirty years and have had treatments at John Muir Hospital a few times and we experienced excellence every time! We highly recommend John Muir Hospitals and their outstanding team of Physicians and Nurses.
