I'm sorry to say that Peaceful Passing did not come through for me. I know Dr. Haver from some volunteer work I used to do, and had recommended Peaceful Passing to others in the past, because I would fully trust Dr. Haver with anything my pets need. One acquaintance did call Peaceful Passing after I suggested it, and had a lovely experience with the service. I believe it was Dr. Boisse who visited her, but I'm not sure. So when the time came for my own rabbit to pass on, of course I called Peaceful Passing. The scheduling worked out ok: Abbey was helpful and compassionate, and a veterinarian was called to come to my home on fairly short notice (during those pandemic days when it was very hard to get a vet appointment anywhere). Unfortunately the vet who came out was neither Dr. Haver nor Dr. Boisse. She came to us after her regular work shift at a pet hospital, and frankly seemed tired and a bit rushed. This is understandable, under the circumstances, and on some level I appreciate her trying to "fit us in." But it did not contribute to a peaceful experience for us, and I feel that it would have been more ethical for the vet to decline an appointment she was not capable of performing appropriately. She also did not take her shoes off, which in times of the RHDV2 virus is just unacceptable. (We had other rabbits living with us.) But the worst part was that the vet clearly did not have rabbit experience, and should not be making house calls for rabbits. She scared our rabbits and did not know how to handle her little patient, who died in terror and confusion. The entire euthanasia experience took an eternity, and everything about it was absolutely traumatic for our entire family. I'm truly sorry to be so blunt, but it felt more like an execution than the peaceful euthanasia we had wanted for our little bunny girl. At the end the vet unceremoniously packed up our deceased rabbit's body and left in a hurry -- without giving us time to say good-bye, and with barely an "I'm sorry." I was so distressed after this experience that I couldn't even bring myself to write a review -- I just wanted to forget about the whole thing. But I had to call another home euthanasia service the other day for another beloved pet who was ready to go. And this was such a beautiful experience that it made my awful episode with Peaceful Passing feel even worse by comparison. I decided to finally leave my review, because I really do feel the need to warn others about what happened to us. I'm giving a second star only because I have to believe, based on everything I have heard about Peaceful Passing, that this must have been a horrible exception to their usual level of service. I have heard nothing but good things about Dr. Boisse and Dr. Haver, but I cannot recommend this other veterinarian at all. (She was not at the time, and is not now, listed on Peaceful Passing's website, so I don't know her name.) read more

I can't say enough about peaceful passings.. I called them desperate on a Saturday to put my sweet cat Dolly to rest. I didn't want her to suffer and I called everyone.. They came within an hour and a 1/2 from my call. Justin the doctor who put her to sleep was so kind and gentle. He had so much compassion And made this experience a truly blessed time letting my little sweet girl go. If the time comes when you have to go through this letting your sweet fur baby go I highly recommend them. read more

A neighbor recommended these people about a year ago when I thought my dog was ready to be put down. I kept the information and two days ago called in the morning and left a soulful message as it was clear my dog was ready to go. No answer. I called again mid-day, left a message, no response. Called again at 5p and got the machine and hung up. I called Paws Into Grace which I found via Google and they responded immediately even though it was after hours for them. It's been two days and I still have not heard from these people. Their website says "if we do not answer please leave your name and number as we do not put clients on hold or answer phones while on appointments". They must be very busy I guess! Do not bother and do not confuse with a well rated group of the same name (PeacefulPassing.com). This terrible lack of service is from PeacefulPassingPets.com. My dog and companion of 14 years passed peacefully yesterday with the humane, kind and gentle help of Paws Into Grace. I have written a 5 star review for them. read more

Saying good bye to a family member is never easy. Peaceful Passing and Dr. Boisse turned this difficult decision into a wonderful experience. Dr. Boisse explained the process over the phone, including answering my questions and giving advice on including my 5 year old son in the process. When she arrived, house, she checked to see if we were ready, and during our conversation her eyes welled up with tears. Her compassion is incredible! She gave us plenty of time to say goodbye to our beloved 14 year old lab, Kaylee. After giving the sedative, Kaylee got up and moved to another room. We followed while Dr. Boisse stayed in the other room. It was a beautiful way to say goodbye; Kaylee in her favorite room, surrounded by her family giving love and encouragement. Kaylee kissed each of us, then rested her head and drifted off to sleep. Dr. Boisse was a comforting presence as she checked in from time to time, until she could tell we were ready to say our final goodbye. This experience could not have been better - I attribute much of this to Peaceful Passing and Dr. Boisse. I have lived with pets for over 40 years, and been through several passings, this is by far the best way to say goodbye. I am forever grateful to Dr. Boisse for helping us and showing my son that death can be a peaceful passage to the other side. RIP my lovely Kaylee!! read more

My boy who was about to be 16 really declined the last few weeks and I couldn't deal with taking him to the vet during COVID-19 to euthanize him. Started searching online for at home euthanasia and peaceful passing came up close to home. When I called, Abby was so nice. I think I talked to her 4 times before making the appt. she took her time and asked about my boy. Charly Brown loves his vet, Dr. Travis so it was hard to not have him do it, but I called him and even he agreed it was the right choice for Charly. I got to be outside with him in my arms in our favorite lounge chair that we would sun in with all of my family and our neighbor who has loved him like her own the last 10 years. The doctor was so patient and kind and gentle. We felt the whole process was in our hands and she was just there to comfort us. She guided us every step of the way even though this is not the first nor the last time of us losing a pet. We have gone through this too many times, yet this was the best experience I've ever had. Peaceful Passage was sensitive, caring, efficient when needed and very sympathetic. It was the hardest thing for me but Peaceful Passage was very considerate of our cat Harry and of my stress and anguish. Harry walked into our lives as a found kitten striving relentlessly to be with people. He was over 17 and had survived 9 near death episodes when we had to accept the fact that Harry would continue fighting to stay with us. It would have been so cruel to let him continue his downward spiral into a painful, prolonged death,. We decided to put Harry first. Dr. Nicole helped us tremendously with her knowledge, skill, patience and sympathy. Now I am saving Harry's ashes to be sprinkled with mine after I pass. read more

Last Friday was a terrible day! We had to put down our 12 1/2 year old lab. She is the only dog I've had and my 17 year old does not remember life without her. I had the change the time three times because she seemed to be in such pain. The gal who answers the phone was so considerate and accommodating. She returned my texts right away and seem to understand my distress. Dr Boisse had helped to take care of her but because I moved the time they sent Dr Weber. He was very professional and warm. Oakley ( our lab) greeted him with a kiss and he calmly guided us through the process. She went quietly while the sun was setting. I was directed to Peaceful Passing from my vets at El Cerrito and I am absolutely glad we made the decision to have our dog leave his failing body in the peace of his home. Not only were they available at a short notice, they spent all the time we needed to collect ourselves an did not rush the process or us in any way. I lost my cat unexpectedly, not through euthenasia, but because she had an undetected heart issue. Luckily the owner of Surfside and Peaceful Passing are the same. I can't say enough about this vet. A time that I dreaded finally came. My 12 year old golden retriever wasn't able to stand anymore and it just wasn't fair for him. I called Monday morning and I was given an appointment for that evening, The vet and his assistant came to the house and were very professional and extremely compassionate. They made the whole process very easy for us. Their name really describes the experience. We were able to hold my dog as he passed peacefully, with no pain at all. He just went to sleep while I held him. He was always nervous going to the vet and I didn't want his last minutes to be spent in fear. Unfortunately I have 2 other older dogs and I know that I will need their services again, but I'm so thankful that they are here. read more

I was so impressed by the services provided and performed by this organization, that I feel compelled to tell everybody who has a pet about them! When my 12 year old Riley boy was diagnosed with an inoperable cancerous tumor on January 3rd, 2014, the vet told me to take him home and spoil him rotten as she thought his passing was imminent. So, I took my 90 pound companion home and spoil him rotten I did! I let him eat anything he wanted, changed his dog food from hard kibbles to wet canned food, let him up on the couch, and created a ramp for him to climb onto my bed, a place he was never allowed before. Anyway, he must have liked his new lifestyle so much that he decided to take full advantage of it for the next eight months! But, on August 14, 2014, even though he looked like a very healthy 12 year old dog, I knew he was suffering, and the time had come. So I called Peaceful Passing (again, as I had contacted months earlier thinking I would need their services much sooner), and spoke to Abby to schedule an appointment for that same day. She was so helpful and went out of her way, I'm sure, to set up an appointment for that same evening. So when the vet arrived at around 9pm, Riley seemed like he was doing better and I started to second guess myself about the timing of this thing, but it was like Riley knew that they were there to help him. He went and sat right up against the vet and waited........so I called him downstairs to my bedroom where he had all his toys, blanket and bed, and he curled up in his bed just like he did every night.....and when the doctor asked me if I was ready, I nodded my head yes, because I knew Riley was ready even though I wasn't. Riley died peacefully that night with me petting him, kissing him and telling him how much joy he had brought into my life.....I lay holding him for a while after he took his last breathe and it was so incredibly sad, but beautiful at the same time.......Riley left the house, curled up in his favorite bed, with his newest stuffed animal, and covered with his favorite blanket.....just the way he would go to sleep every night after I tucked him in! I chose a private cremation for Riley thinking I would scatter his ashes (they usually come in a cardboard box) in the places he loved most. But when his ashes were hand delivered to my home in a lovely cedar box with his name engraved on a heart shaped tag, along with a clay impression of his paw and a snippet of his fur, I think Riley will now be "staying" with me indefinitely! Thank you, Peaceful Passing. Yesterday Dr. Weber came to the house and with compassion and kindness euthanized our dear cat, Newman. The entire process was exactly what we needed at this difficult time: Abby was friendly, understanding, kind, and helpful on the front end, and Dr. Weber did a wonderful job here at the house. This service is a must in my opinion for saying goodbye to kitty -- calm, peaceful, at home in a familiar, comfortable environment. I left a voice mail with the details their message asked for, but they never called me back. Luckily I had found another service to call, after waiting for hours to hear back. I'm having a hard time finding the words to even begin to express my gratitude for the services that Peaceful Passing recently provided to my family. Making the decision to end the suffering of a pet can be the most difficult thing in the world to do...at least for me it was, but I found so much comfort in knowing that one less stress would be added to the remaining minutes of my dog Jessie's life, by letting her leave this earth at home. Mireille and her assistant were so incredibly kind to my family during this impossible time. They answered every question we had, and were so nice and patient with us. One thing that I really liked about the both of them was that they really made me feel like they genuinely cared. My 14 year old dog hates to go to the vet and I didn't want her last memories to be in a vet's office. I called this place after calling my vet and this was one of the numbers they suggested I call. When I called I got a voice message. I explained that my dog had taken a turn for the worse and I believed her to be in pain and she had stopped eating her meals. I asked them to please call me back asap. 16 hours(!) later AFTER I had left message number 2 a person called me back to say they are by appointment only and they didn't have any openings and that's why they didn't call me back and if I was so concerned I should have called them sooner. Mind you, I called them at just before 6pm on a Friday night of Memorial weekend. The girl Abbey was rude, condescending, unsympathetic, not compassionate and down right out-of-line. I was appalled that someone could be so cold. By appointment? Ok well even though my dog is in pain lets make that appointment for 5 days from now when its convenient for YOU. Unbelievable!! I phoned my vet's office and told them of how I was treated. They were shocked and agreed that when the time comes it comes because we humans can no longer stand to see our best friend suffer. It's a gut wrenching, heart breaking decision to make and when you make it you don't want to drag it out. These people are callous and cold. My vet will no longer recommend them. Think twice. I found someone who actually answered the phone(the vet herself) and she came out within 2 hours...the way it should be. read more

Hubby has had our 12 year old golden's since they were 6 weeks old. We were devastated when Sasha's health began to fail. Thankfully, there is a business called Peaceful Passing. I read many recommendations for them on our local www.nextdoor.com I called Sunday and left a message. A very sweet person named Abby returned my call the next morning to make the arrangements. Dr Boisse and her husband Enzo came to our home that same afternoon. Sasha laid in the living room on her bed with her favorite hedgehog toy. Her sister Nikki and tomcat brother Leon were there to say goodbye. Frank laid next to Sasha, hugging her. It was a very sad time for us. Both Dr Boisse and Enzo were so patient and kind! Sasha first had a sedative injection that made her sleep. Then, being unaware, she was given the final injection. Sasha was carried out on a stretcher with a blanket covering her body. They transported her to Peaceful Paws to be cremated. We will receive her ashes in 7-10 days that we will spread in our backyard and canyon. I highly recommend Peaceful Passage. We always said that Sasha was going to be a white bird in Kauai her next time around...can't wait to see her in Hawaii! read more

Peaceful Passing is a true blessing! I have used them twice so far and both vets have been wonderful. Dr Boise performed an in-home euthanasia on my terminally ill kitty a few weeks ago. I called on a Saturday morning and she was able to come that evening. She was incredibly kind and patient (my cat went under the bed last minute and she did not pressure or rush me to get him out quickly). She explained everything well and answered all of my questions. She was gentle with the cat and spoke in a calm and gentle voice. I was able to hold him the entire time. When my cat had passed she asked me if I would like a clipping of his fur (great idea). She worked patiently and carefully to clip a large piece and then placed it in a sandwich bag so it would stay together nicely. I didn't feel the least bit rushed which is so important at a time like this. A few days later I received a sympathy card from Dr B and Peaceful Passing. Very touching. I can't say enough great things about Peaceful Passing! I will definitely use them again when services are needed. It is so much better than having to go to the vet's office and way less stressful on the animal. Decent prices too. read more

I can't begin to express how grateful I am to the Doctors that help make the toughest choice a little bit easier to cope with. I have a handicapped son that absolutely adored his canine helper. The two were always together. Earlier in the year my son got pneumonia. He was in the hospital for a little more than a month. He passed away in June. It has been very tough on our family. Recently his dog became ill and we soon realized there wasn't much medically we could do for him. I think he missed my son so much he kind of gave up on life. The regular vet told us he was terminal. This was all I had left I felt of my son. A living reminder. When Dozer declined my Family and I realized we had a tough choice to make. I am so grateful for Dr. Boisse! Her compassion for us and our situation was amazing. It made letting go that much easier. I will never forget her quiet understanding and the way she helped Dozer leave this earth. It gave us all such peace to know he was spending his last moments in the house that he had spent so much time in with my son. Dr. Boisse has a calmness and serene aura that she exudes and it was a balm to our already aching souls. I can't thank her or her helper enough for the peace they gave us. So, I will just have to reccomend her to everyone that has to go through this painful experience. read more
