Delicious locally crafted beer and original food choices that break away from your typical diet in the smoky mountain town areas, this place was a real nice place and a good reset. We needed a day to break away from the chaos that is Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and found this wonderful gem in Townsend. I should have taken a photo of my food and/or the decor, but i was just so relaxed and hungry that I forgot. My wife and I chose the outdoor dining option and were surrounded by the mountain views. Helpful service. The pizza was greasy and the three meat pizza had a 1/4 of a strip of bacon at best. No ham. Pepperoni was the only visible meat. My husband had half of a chicken and it was very dry and over cooked. Beer was okay at best. Table was greasy and dirty. VERY expensive for the nasty food. Wait the hour and a half or two hours at Pigeon Forge and don't come to this place. Going to buy tums and turn in for the night. read more

My favorite spot to eat in Townsend. The Peaceful Side Social is a very neat restaurant with good vibes inside and out. Everything is kept very clean. The food was wonderful and the service was fast. This place is a great find. Tucked away in a corner off of 321 this brewery has it all! Great friendly service with a twist on American fare. The truffle fries and smoked salmon Pate are palette pleasers. Staff are friendly and informative. As out of towners Deb K gave us a brief history of the area which was much appreciated . Recently moved to the area and after a day spent exploring the Smokies, we stopped in for a quick adult beverage before heading home. So glad we did! We came here from Austin which has an amazing beer and brewery scene. Feel like we found a jewel at Peaceful Side. Sat at bar and sampled a few brews before making our choice. Everything we tried was great. Most were local TN beer and they are working on their own brews as well. GM Johnny was washing glasses and we started chatting. He was so excited about what they are doing, the staff, and what's to come. Plenty of seating inside and out. They are expanding their patio and adding some taps outside as well so this summer this will be the place to be. We didn't try any food but what we saw going by looked amazing. They are pup friendly (outside) so next time we will bring the fur babies and spend a bit more time. Awesome place! Great beer! Get here soon but save us a spot! read more

Great place in Townsend for a nice relaxing lunch or dinner. Good selection of local beers on tap. I had pepperoni pizza and it was great. It had thin slightly crunchy crust just the way I like it. Loved this place! Lots of room for the kids to play outside and pets are welcome. The beer cheese and pretzels were heavenly. Pizza was hot and tasty. We tried the taco bar. I wasn't very impressed with the taco meat. It tasted and felt like a pork roast that was cooked in a crock pot. It was very greasy too. I got three of them and they came with only meat and onions on them. No cheese or sour cream. Won't re-order those again but will definitely return for the fun atmosphere and the beer cheese and pizza! read more

Food was great, when it finally arrived. Guest beers (they are all guest beers -- brewery?) are good. But-- if they are busy, they are clearly in over their heads regarding service. We waited over 11/2 hours for part of our order. They really need to address this. The Peaceful Social was next level! There is a decent variety of brews available. The food is top notch. I had the smoked trout dip and a buffalo chicken sourdough round. I was expecting the round to be half the size it was! It would have been enough for two people. The staff was so friendly and helpful. This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. What kind of restaurant has a bar but no actual service to the bar? I sat there for 15 minutes before I finally got in line to order a beer and food, only to find out they stop serving the full menu at 8PM and I couldn't order what I needed because I waiting too long to get in line. We love it here! When I was eating gluten-free, there were so many options of things to eat: salads, bowls, sandwiches in a lettuce wrap (or just deconstructed). But now that I have made the switch to incorporating gluten back into my diet, I've gotten to enjoy their pizza (which I will say is PHENOMENAL)! They just added a taco menu (outside only) that is really delicious! Their margaritas are to die for. The service is so kind and friendly and very attentive. There's been many a time we've brought our two year old daughter, and a server has stopped by to say hello or check and see if we need anything. They have really great high chairs too! Speaking of kids, they have a really fun outdoor play area for the kids that is fully enclosed so your kids can run around while you eat outside and you don't have to worry about them sneaking out over the fence. We love sometimes just to go and grab a drink and some truffle fries (which are SO GOOD) and hang out on their outdoor patio. I can't say enough good things about Peaceful Side Social!
