Service was SLOW. Over ten minutes after we were seated is when the server even greeted us. It took 15 minutes from the time that our server cleared our plates to the time he brought the check. Also he told me to "just ignore" what we were charged for the half order of fritters (I had signed up for the emails and had a coupon), that he just hadn't taken it off yet. And he was gone before I could ask him to fix it before I was willing to hand over my debit card. After waiting another 10 minutes for him to come back, we just left cash and left. We stopped for breakfast and was very pleased with the friendliness of the staff. Irynia was our waitress and very funny and nice. The world needs more waitresses like her. We had the apple fritters and as usual, they were delicious! I had a delicious veggie omelet. My spouse ordered the chicken and waffles and the chicken seemed like it had been pounded and thinned and the batter had too much black pepper on it. I really enjoyed Peach Valley for the unique menu options, great service, and good food. My coworkers and I went for lunch and we were quickly seated and served. Our server was friendly and helpful, and overall great. I ordered the curry chicken wrap which had some sweetness to it, and a side of fries. Not the healthiest but hey, you can also get it in salad form minus the fries. All of us paid around $10 for our meal before tip. The strawberry yogurt dip was a nice addition. Besides tasting great, the fritters were just a fun appetizer to have. (We opted for the half serving, which comes with four fritters.) For our meals, we ordered the Belgian waffle and the artisan med toast. The waffle was great, exactly what we're looking for in a Belgian waffle. The toast was delicious, and we got half the toast as it comes normally and half without prosciutto for vegetarian needs. I never thought I'd be impressed by toast, but here we are. Great place for breakfast in Gainesville! I've been to Peach Valley quite a few times when I went to school here so I had to come back on my last visit. There is almost always a wait but we only waited about 20 minutes on a Saturday morning. To start, we went with a Peach Bellini and a Mimosa, Peach Valley does serve alcohol which is nice. Of course, we had to get the Apple Fritters which is what their known for, they're addictive. For entrees, we got the Seasonal Florentine Biscuit and Pickers Skillet. Both were very good and since the Florentine Biscuit had spinach in it, I moved it into my "healthy eating" column. My go-to is usually the Valley Fiesta which is a solid choice as well. It's not the most amazing breakfast I've ever had, but it's definitely good. On-par with places like First Watch and Keke's. Service was great and prices are reasonable as well. read more

I got a "cafe croissant" which was scrambled eggs with ham and warm Brie cheese (delicious) and it came with house potatoes which were really good and I asked for a side of biscuit which was good as well! Then I shared a double stack of chocolate chips pancakes which did not reach my expectations and which is why I'm giving 4 stars instead of more. We all ordered brunch from PVC and we were excited about it; the excitement petered out. One of the orders was omitted from the delivery. I didn't receive bacon on my order nor syrup for my pancake. When I called PVC about the bacon they said bacon wasn't ordered when everyone heard our lady place each of the orders from her collection sheet. I didn't ask about the syrup for my pancakes because I was so out done. Meh. The first time I went here 3 years ago I was so impressed. I guess I haven't been back in a very long time because I have low patience to wait 45-1 hr for food on my relaxing Sundays. But a couple weeks ago I was feel frisky enough to wait... to my disappointment I think that peach valley has lost its umf. I was very disappointed with the portions of all of our orders especially my skillet. At other local breakfast places around town such as Sugarcreek or 43rd street deli, the skillets are HUGE like have to take half of it home huge. So when I could fully finish my "skillet" and for more money I was not satisfied. My go to of apple fritters was not as I remembered. I liked the yogurt dip more than the bland fritter. And for it being slower than usual our service was meh, our waitress should have been more present. This place used to be very good and maybe I just picked the wrong dish this time because I had previously gotten the chicken and waffles and remembered being baffled at how good it was. Peach Valley Cafe is a great brunch spot in Gainesville. It's really popular and the wait is always really long on the weekends, so I recommend trying it during the week if you can. The Apple Fritters and seriously so yummy! They have chunks of apple and come with a yummy strawberry dipping sauce. I'm also a huge fan of their pancakes (they're huge!) and their bacon is super good too. The staff experience has been excellent every time I've been there. Even when the restaurant has been really busy the staff was on top of it, refilling drinks and making sure the food was good! I used to work as a waitress at a breakfast restaurant & I can tell you that this place is not worth your time. I rarely go to a restaurant and think that I'll give it a bad review - however, this is necessary. It's normal to wait for weekend brunch, so no harsh feelings there. Once seated, my friend and I waited about 10 minutes before a server came over. He took our order immediately and brought our drinks out shortly thereafter. Okay, not bad so far. The apple fritters came out in a reasonable time span, and they were pretty good. I wasn't a fan of the yogurt dip, but the fritters were fine. We then waited for 45 minutes for our food to come out. I was missing a side and there were two mix-ups trying to get it to me. The food was extremely bland. The scrambled eggs on my croissant didn't have any seasoning whatsoever - no salt or pepper. I couldn't finish it because it was boring. I ordered cheese grits for $2.99 and they were not worth it at all. I was really disappointed because I love the other location I've visited. Once our food issues were fixed, the server took a while to refill our drinks (once) & to get our check. Given the other incredible brunch places in Gainesville, I'll never come by again. Solid breakfast/brunch spot. The service is usually pretty fast, even on busier days. I always order their apple fritters whenever I go. They're tossed in cinnamon sugar and come with a side of strawberry yogurt for dipping. I never would have thought of that combo, but they do pair so well together! This past visit to Peach Valley, I ordered the smoked salmon eggs benedict, which I really liked. A bit on the saltier side but not a surprise considering it is smoked salmon. My friends ordered the valley fiesta and chicken pot pie. The chicken pot pie was pretty average in our opinion. Loved the onion and peach pepper sauce in the valley fiesta. One odd thing from this past visit was that our waiter accidentally spilled the yogurt on our table when he brought our apple fritters, but he did not come back to clean it and give us more yogurt.. This place was totally busy for a weekday lunch. SO I figured it would be excellent. Sadly, I found the food nothing to write home about. To begin, why would the fish tacos be advertised as "catch of the day" but have a fixed price (about $10) on the menu? Shouldn't it say market price? I put money on it that our server would not know what it was, and would come back and tell me it was tilapia. Of course, I asked my server and as expected she had to leave the table to find out. WHAT?! If you have a real catch of the day the servers should definitely know in advance so they can push this item to guests. Anyways, she came back and told me the fish was called "pan asia" and it was similar to tilapia. So I was basically right, LOL. But just FYI there is NO fish called pan asia. I noticed there was a Mahi-Mahi sandwich on the menu so I asked if that could be put in the taco and she said sure. Then I asked her one more time about the catch of the day, I just had to be sure I was hearing her correctly, and she again said, "pan asia, but I might be pronouncing it wrong." WOW! Anyways, when my tacos finally came the fish was cut into little CHUNKS and there was barley any meat in the taco. It was almost impossible to eat because the pieces kept falling out. I have NO IDEA why they would not just serve it as a whole piece...probably trying to make the guest think there's more meat in it that there actually is. Other things my party and I noticed about our food, onion rings were over cooked, the onion came out of the breading when you took a bite. Also, I thought it was silly that they didn't have a breakfast entree with a sausage patty, you had to had it for $3.29 and they pressed it flat (see posted pics)... that was odd. I just don't think 2 eggs, sausage, grits, and toast should be $9. ON THE PLUS side. The potato salad was excellent and I love when lunch items come with pickles. The curry chicken salad wrap was good, I liked that they put grapes, granny smith apples, and almonds in it. ALSO, breakfast looks good here. I would probably stick with that if I ever return. They had something called apple fritters which sound amazing, probably should've ordered that, not to mention the biscuits and gravy was super cheap and I'm always OK with that. read more

However we got a delivery order this afternoon and we had cold eggs, hot grits, cold potatoes, and hot Canadian ham,overcooked beef, and French toast that had cinnamon dust under it but nowhere garnished on top. We were seated in a back area with a view of the bathroom hall and employee work area with every other table in the vicinity full. Today I came here with a group of about 10 people and we were so polite- we said our pleases and thank yous, our may Is and even more thank yous, even after they replaced my friends omelette which she discovered had a couple of hairs in it. I went next door to grocery shop and nearly finished my entire cup when a FUCKING LOOGIE spills out of my mouth and stuck to my lip and face. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. I wouldn't even let myself register what it was since I was afraid I would vomit. But it was quite distinctly a sticky wad of spit. Again. WHAT THE FUCK. I went back to PVC, remained as calm as possible and asked to speak to the manager. She was quite empathetic and comped my meal and I could tell she was really sorry, but when our actual waiter, Terry, came around and she told him about it... he didn't seem surprised... even my friend who came in with me to chaperone the scene sensed it. Anyway, while the manager was as polite as she could be and offered her help, I will NEVER eat there again. I just can't trust it. The comped meal was a nice gesture l, but it didn't alleviate my disgust. The hairs in the food was one thing, but the spit?!?! That's just another level of disgusting and unacceptable. Get your shit together Peach Valley. FIRE TERRY. Establish and ACTUALLY IMPLEMENT sanitary practices. After reading the reviews we decided to give this spot a try while visiting the area. Must say that we did not find the reviews matched the food. We had a very short wait and our server was attentive. She told us the Valley Fiesta and the Chicken and Waffles were her favorite dishes. So we decided to try them both. We also started with an order of their 'famous' apple fritters. First the fritters were served hot and with a strawberry sauce. Unfortunately they were very doughy and we had a hard time distinguishing any apples. The strawberry sauce tastes just like strawberry yogurt with nothing else. Not impressed. My husband had the Valley Fiesta. Big disappointment here. The chorizo was a very thin patty of very dry and overcooked meat. It was not appetizing to look at at all. The pico de gallo was fresh but it just was a ho-hum dish. The side of potatoes was good after adding a touch of salt. Chicken and waffles. Well the chicken came out and there were two pieces that looked golden brown and the rest looked dirty brown as if it were overcooked. Not sure of they were fried in different oils or what caused the difference. The chicken was very bland. The breaking had no flavor at all. The waffles were large and crisp. They unfortunately we're not served hot enough to melt the blueberry butter ball on top. The side of syrup was nothing special. All in all a rather big disappointment. read more

Is it just me or is this place a joke? I guess its me... I am an alumni of the University of Florida and I went back to Gainesville a month ago. I am not sure when this place was open because I did not know about it before this and I just recently graduated in May 2012. It was graduation weekend so I understand it can be busy and I didn't really mind the wait. I went with two friends and we got seated about 15-20 minutes later. I honestly don't remember what was on the menu. I ordered some fruits with granola and yogurt because it looked amazing from the table next to ours. Well, it did look good, and I took a 100+ facebook likes picture of it, but it tastes terrible. I could clearly tell they were frozen fruits because I tasted those nasty freezer taste. I can't remember what else I ordered because everything just went downhill from that point. The only good thing is that service was decent and the bill went along with the quality of food. I have been going to Peach Valley for the past few years and have always used it as a place to coax my friends into breakfast/brunch food. If I'm eating with someone who is not really a breakfast foodie person, I take them here because this place is basic enough where they should find something they like. I find it be a basic breakfast/brunch place because it reminds me of many different brunch chains I have been to. Nothing TOO special or outstanding about it. It's good, don't get me wrong, but that's it. I cannot think of anything about the place that stands out about it besides their apple fritters, which I always enjoy getting as an appetizer before my meal. Since I mentioned food I will go into that. I always get the Valley Fiesta when I come here because I love chorizo and Mexican style food. I like it but I know it's not authentic, but it's the closest I can get to having avocado and meat in any of my dishes. Their chicken and waffles are decent as well, one of the better places to get in Gainesville. Their French toast and waffles are really good too if you enjoy sweet breakfast foods. I never order their lunch when I come here so I cannot say anything about their burgers but I have heard good things about. However, one of my friends did order a steak here one time and it was not cooked well and he had to get it remade. Their service is not bad. I have never had a bad experience when I have eaten here so I must commend Peach Valley on their service. Their is always a line to get a table during the weekends, especially during prime brunch hours, so try and get here early or just expect to wait. I know they take reservations as well. The ambiance is very cheery and bustling. I personally would favor a different breakfast/brunch place which has a more local/homier feel, which is an ambiance I prefer but I cannot complain about the vibe I get from Peach Valley. For some reason I just find the place to be very sunny and cheery. All in all, I like Peach Valley but it is not my favorite breakfast/brunch place in the world. It is a very popular place to eat in Gainesville and is a great place to take visiting family and friends so I would recommend bringing people here. I'm updating this review because I finally got to take my boyfriend here. (And also because my last review was with an ex so I thought I'd replace it.) I've always loved the way being at Peach Valley made me feel. It's always been cozy and tasted like home. We got here at around maybe 10am on Thursday. My boyfriend was rather hungry and enjoyed his skillet tremendously. He couldn't even finish it! I had ordered a veggie and egg croissant and tried with all of my might to finish those darn good home fries. Their coffee and cafe mocha were good, but the star of this establishment remains the same and if you come here and don't order the apple fritters then you're not doing yourself any favors. These glorious cinnamon-sugar coated apple fritters dipped in strawberry yogurt are what fairytales are made of. (Unfortunately, they are also unhealthier. Oh well, treat yoself.) As delicious as that Benedict potentially looks, the ham was cold (right out of fridge, not warmed up, presume that's the norm) and it ruined the whole thing. Maybe the worst Benedict of my life. Our first "local" restaurant in Gainesville since we moved here a week ago. Great experience. The apple fritters are everything you've heard and more- AMAZING. Warm, tiny apple bits cooked into a soft batter with a crunchy, sugar coating. Melt in your mouth. We got a half order but think a visit for coffee and a full order would be an awesome weekend snack. I got the eggs any style (sunny side up), with potatoes, biscuit and added a side of turkey sausage. I thought it was fantastic. Great combo of tastes. The biscuit is off the charts good. My husband got the healthy smart start omelette with turkey, tomatoes, spinach and cheddar cheese along with potatoes and the biscuit. He loved the biscuit and potatoes but not a fan of the omelette. I had a bite and I wonder if they made a mistake as it tasted like deli turkey meat instead of turkey breakfast sausage as it should be. But he said it definitely won't keep him from coming back. He's craving the biscuits and gravy for next time. The 4 stars are for the poor omelette. Everything else was great. The server was great and kind. Atmosphere was fun and lively.
