First time and Peaches and I'm sad I didn't stop by sooner! The staff was lovely, our waitress was attentative and kind (and we were a larger party). I got the coconut latte which was yummy, I enjoyed the addition of shaved coconute flakes on top. I also did the peaches and cream waffles which were delicious. The waffle was soft and airy and not too sweet. For something savory, I tried the special omelet of the day which had sausage, mushrooms, cheese and veggies. They got a complete makeover and the place is just so much bigger the way it is set up. The counter is bigger with lots of seats. The restaurant is more wide open and the entrance which used to be a bottleneck is now wide open and there's lots of tables. I had breakfast for dinner. I had French toast. Two big huge pieces of French toast perfectly cooked and it was delicious and I ate it all!! My dinner mate got quesadilla appetizer and it was enough for a meal. The service was great! read more

Gave me the vibe that the server didn't want to serve our table. I've never had that happen before. Went to Peaches with my boyfriend and his mom this past weekend for some hot chocolate and dessert before hitting the shops around the plaza. As Floridians, we were freezing in the 10° weather and thought hot chocolate would be the perfect way to warm up. Unfortunately, the hot chocolate was only warm, not hot, and it was pretty standard, just like any hot chocolate you'd get anywhere else. We did order the molten lava cake, though, and it was rich and delicious. The cafe itself was a bit cramped, but it wasn't a dealbreaker. Had a lovely breakfast date with my youngest on a Friday morning. We were seated and ordered right away. Our server, Brittany, was very pleasant. My son had their fresh squeezed orange juice and I had a coffee with added sugar free caramel syrup. My son had the kids Mickey Mouse pancake with chocolate chips and I had the New Orleans omelet with extra marinaded mushrooms and home fries. Delicious and enough to take home for later! What an incredible disappointment! I used to love this place but man, how the mighty have fallen...Absolutely no care was taken in the preparation of my breakfast today. The food came out fast because it was all pre-cooked. Lousy ham scramble with unmelted cheese, cold potatoes and toast...nothing was hot. Just overall lousy and expensive. So the morning started at home when we asked our 20 yr old son if he wanted to go to peaches for bfast. He said. " does it have to be peaches?" We said yes- our mistake. The only reason for even one star was great orange juice and attentive service (thank you Jared) Our entrees, crab Benedict, eggs florentine, and country Benedict - every poached egg was overcooked and not slightly, and the crab cakes were cold. I would rarely send anything back but to have every egg cooked over hard just is unacceptable and not what you're looking for in poached eggs. The server was very very apologetic and removed the dishes to be remade. While we waited we snacked on the sides of bacon and sausage we had ordered. For $6 a side you would expect more than 2-3 thin, broken bacon slices. I'm just honestly surprised, and grasping for any thought process that goes into this pitiful bacon side. The sausage, two links, was not too flavorful and not warm. And here's the kicker... I KNEW that the remade egg dishes would come back barely cooked- I am sure the kitchen line saw that the dishes were returned for being overcooked and clearly unable to turn out a well poached egg, erred on the side of raw- the crab cakes were still cold too :( Really negative experience and man, $87 for a good glass of OJ just doesn't cut it. Even though we didn't complain about the 2nd batch and barely cooked eggs, or the still cold crab cakes ( we just can't be there all day) the manager should've adjusted our bill somewhat. The flavors were very good but the texture was a little off, which is why I'm only giving 4 starts. The pancakes were thin and dense rather than thick and fluffy. A little chewy. The French toast didn't really feel like a French toast. It was more like a good (and very crumbly) piece of banana bread with a little omelet skirt around it. I was looking for a hearty breakfast/ brunch outside of my usual rotation of eateries. I haven't visited Peaches Cafe in Stuyvesant Plaza in years and decided to give it a try. There was a "pardon our appearance," sign near the entry way. It explained that the business was under renovation. The rug is well worn and the faded ceiling tiles are in need of replacement but the cafe is cozy. It's bathed in yellow light. It was busy at 11am on a weekday. There were families, elderly couples and college students which made for a nice cross section of customers. I was seated immediately by a friendly hostess. Even though I was eating alone, I felt welcomed. My server, Jared, was great. He took my order. Came back to check on me and brought me a little box so I could take the leftovers home. I had picked the Irish Eggs Benedict. It came with corn beef hash instead of the usual ham. Actually, the hash turned out to be large chucks of corned beef. It was delicious. It was the warm and hearty breakfast that I was hoping for. The eggs, hollandaise sauce and home fries were just right. The decaf coffee was good, too. I could only finish half of my meal. I was delighted to have tasty leftovers for the next day. I enjoyed my visit and I look forward to coming back. read more

Disappointed to downgrade this old favorite but my experiences since they updated the interior design/ decor have declined. Now we have higher prices for the same mid quality food and the service is markedly decreased. I was really unhappy with my experience here last night when I requested a refill of water and the server completely forgot about it, then seemed to ignore me when I tried to get her attention. I had to walk up to their bar with my glass and ask someone, who I presume was the manager, to refill the water. Server never apologized for blanking on the refill and didn't even seemed to notice that her manager had to jump in and help out. While the upgraded space looks nice, the service should match the new space and the higher prices. read more

Stopped here after an early medical appt. Loved the decor (even thought it reminded me slightly of a hotel lobby) but it definitely felt cramped. Our food and drinks were mediocre: mocha latte and chai latte were lukewarm and not very flavorful. Our ham & eggs and sausage & eggs were also just ok: toast was slightly burnt, eggs were ok and the fried potatoes were also ok although I do like that there were not peppers or onions included. I've been coming here for about two years now. It's usually very busy, but I've found it's worth the wait. It's usually less busy on weekdays and most of the crowds show up for brunch, so it's usually much quicker to get seated in the afternoon. I usually stick with the breakfast menu and since it's served all day it's a really nice set of options. My go to is a raspberry tea and the blueberry pancakes. They're filling and delicious, and taste great with syrup or butter. The eggs Benedict is also incredibly good, and the hollandaise sauce is rich and flavorful. The desserts are also excellent- I personally really like the coconut cake. One of the nice things about this place is that it feels like a diner but has the ambience of a cafe- you get a lot of delicious food and there are so many options that even I found more than one thing I love and I'm a notoriously picky eater. You can sit in the window or outside and enjoy the summer air, or in the winter you can stay warm and enjoy a hot bowl of soup. We always have enough for leftovers. Even though some of the stuff on the menu can be pricy, there's enough food that you're really getting what you pay for. I've never had a bad experience here, and my husband and I ate here for breakfast the day after we were married. It's one of our date spots and we will keep coming back! read more

I meant to write this review months ago but I haven't remembered until now I came here February 9th on my birthday for brunch at around 3pm. We were seated immediately but when me and my boyfriend were sat the waitress repeatedly came over and gave us little time with the menu claiming the kitchen was closing down. We ordered quickly then while we were eating, she repeatedly came over more than usual. There was no music playing, and she started vacuuming right next to our table after asking if we were wrapping up more than once. We didn't stay long as the energy wasn't welcoming. It's a cute place. Very clean. Service is friendly. We went breakfast on a Monday. I had one of the specials, which was an avocado turkey sausage benedict. It came with potatoes on the side. It was just okay. Everything didn't seem as hot as it could've been. The potatoes were extremely salty. I asked for them to be replaced with some fruit. The fruit came and it looked like it came out of a can/jar...definitely not fresh. Hubby had the challah bread French toast. He said it was good, but was kind of bummed that one of the pieces was made out of the end of the bread, which made it less soft. read more

Rating is an average: Having been unsuccessful in our search for the Apple and cheese sandwich we had had a year ago in Saratoga, Google suggested Peaches Cafe in Albany on our way home. I got a chicken, cranberry, apple, cheese sandwich wrapped in Naan bread, which was very good. But the mud cake slice had bites that tasted like the smell of scented detergent - yugh! (You know something's wrong if I throw chocolate out!) I was thrilled with my experience at Peaches Cafe. The waitress was phenomenal. Very on top of things and proactive. The place was clean and modern. Our appetizer was loaded cheesy fries. It's not going to win any presentation contests. Could've been cheesier. Fires could've been crispier and better seasoned. Nevertheless, it hit the spot. I ordered the big breakfast. Very good and filling. Their home fries are crispy and flavorful! (Just how I like them). My wife ordered a buffalo chicken wrap. She liked it but complained that there was too much sauce. I didn't know that was possible but that's what she tells me. The drinks are very customizable. Hadn't been here since the renovation, sadly the decor was the only improvement with the exception of a very nice waiter, the food was mediocre as I recalled pre renovation, of my party of 5, many of us were not happy with our food, lacking in flavor (we had a mixture of b-fast & lunch items), my french onion soup was so blah I was actually surprised as I plucked 2 pieces of bay leaf out of it & way too much (a glob) of mozzarella cheese, not that I expected gruyere but at least swiss cheese would have shown some effort, (from my seat I could see the remains of the old TGIF which surprisingly had a very flavorful french onion soup & wished that's what I had been eating) all that being said, the line was still out the door as we left so I know Peaches won't suffer from my lack of support, also I didn't use the restroom but 1 of my fellow diners did & no heat, hopefully soon rectified read more

First time visiting this cafe on a Saturday late morning before Mother's Day. Place was packed, with a 20 minute wait, and we were seated in 22 minutes, which is pretty great. Food was good, service was extra, extra lovely, and we did not feel rushed, despite the crowd waiting. Given my not so great experience with completely inappropriate dance music on an early Sunday morning at another area diner close by, I have to point out that if there was any music playing, I certainly couldn't hear it, given the full house. This is always my go to back up brunch spot, but might become the automatic go to! Staff is always super friendly and does their best to get you a table quickly on the weekend. The eggs benedict was delicious and eggs were perfectly cooked! French toast is also yummy! We came here on a Saturday morning at 9AM; the place was not busy and we were seated right away. We were seated at the 2-person table by the front window, which I personally think is one of the best seats in the house because it's quieter and you can hear yourself better. Even though it's a bit separated from the other tables, the waitresses are attentive and didn't forget about us. The only time we had to be proactive about getting their attention was when we were trying to pay our bill. We got a chai latte and coffee to start. The chai latte was a bit sweet for my taste, but it came in a cute mug. For food we got the Stuyvesant omelette (build-your-own w/2 fillings; additional items +$0.95/item), crab cake omelette, and plain pancakes with warm peaches on top (other toppings included blueberry or strawberry compote). The savory items came with nice crispy potatoes. The pancakes came with a large helping of whipped cream, butter, syrup, and a number of jellies. There was also ketchup and two types of hot sauces available. Everything was tasty with large portions; would definitely come back! I came here as part of a group of four. They were busy on a Sunday afternoon but we were seated pretty quickly. It is a noisy place and tables are close together, so intimate conversations aren't really possible. That being said, people seemed to be enjoying themselves all around us. Their special soup of the day was Italian Wedding, my favorite, so I ordered a bowl of that and a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato. The soup came out quickly but it was clearly from a can or bag. Very processed, very salty, with tiny meatballs and lots of bloated pasta. I must admit that I love canned soup including Italian Wedding but I was hoping for so much more from a restaurant like this. I can (and do!) make canned soup at home... why pay extra for it here? That was disappointing. My grilled cheese sandwich was cooked perfectly with lots of yummy cheese and tomatoes. Had it been delivered with my soup I might have been able to enjoy them together, which would have been nice. My wife's gyro wrap looked good but she said it was dry and requested extra yogurt sauce. Her French fries were pale and not very crispy My friend's salad was large enough to share, which was good. The other guy ordered a special Peaches waffle entree which looked a bit unadorned and boring on the plate. Once he smeared the whipped cream around and put syrup on top it looked a lot better and less dry. It was an okay experience. Recently went to the newly renovated Peaches Cafe in Stuyvesant Plaza. I ordered the soup and half sandwich combo but decided to upgrade to the French onion soup for a few more dollars. My crab salad sandwich on 12 grain bread was tasty, although there was way too much lettuce on it. The French onion soup was another story. Although it looked good when it came to the table, with a good portion of melted cheese on top, the onions were hard and the baguette slices in the crock that were supposed to soak up the beef broth were also hard and dry. That's probably because there was hardly any beef broth in the crock! There was also an overwhelming pepper taste on the cheese. The new decor is very nice, but skip the French onion soup if you go! read more
