We decided to try out this place while on vacation and it did not disappoint. We had to wait in line for 45 minutes, but it was so worth it, and the time flew by! We ordered their glazed, blackberry glazed, snickerdoodle and vanilla glazed with sprinkles for 4th of July. We also ordered a pretzel. Everything was fresh and delicious. The amount of glaze was perfect, it was not layered on thick. The store inside is small and quaint, there is a small bar inside with stools, water while you wait. I totally did not expect for the donuts to be this good! This was the first time experiencing a good donut in the entire Tampa Bay region. The staff was as actively engaged in helping the long line move as fast as possible. This was the first time that I've waited in line for a donut. It is not all hype at all; they are legit! My coworkers were talking about how good they were, but I was not convinced. I walked up to the line and there were families in line with their children and pets laughing and chatting it up which made the atmosphere pretty cool while we all waited. Last year at the florida festival I missed this food truck for the famous amish donuts. This year I made sure I brought some home to try out and it did not disappoint. Luckily on the last day of the strawberry festival the line for this truck (they had 2 trucks) was not that long. I ordered 6 pcs of the glazed donuts to go. They did not have boxes to place the amount of donuts instead they used a brown paper bag. Keep in mind the brown paper bag will get moistened as time flies so make sure u have a plastic bag to hold up the brown bags in case u lose the donuts from dropping! Let's talk about the donuts .. OMG Delicious! They were tender soft bouncy dough donuts. Not too sweet of the glaze. I mean these were literally the best donuts I have eaten by far! They only cater through food trucks and they travel to different states to attend festivals etc - They do not have a store front as yet. I think they save money this way and gain money by doing so. I have not tried the pretzels as yet which I will try next year if I attend the strawberry festival again. I heard good things about these huge pretzels btw. Taking a star away because of their COVID protocol (no masks for any employees), but the food is still worth five stars. The donuts and pretzels are still five stars worthy. I drove an hour from Tampa just to get a glazed donut, a specialty donut (which this week was chocolate ganache, follow their Instagram to see what it is) and a pretzel. Everything is so fluffy, the pretzel is amazingly buttery and the chocolate on the donut was divine. It was well worth the one hour drive. The patrons also really impressed me. We went to the Bradenton truck location that's outside an Ace Hardware (on Saturdays, they have two locations. Again, follow them on facebook for weekly schedules). Everyone in line was keeping about a six foot distance in between even though we were outdoors. A majority of the line was wearing masks. The line was halfway down the parking lot, so I'm impressed people were standing so far apart. At 11 a.m. on a Saturday there were about ten groups in line, but since it's just putting a donut in a bag it moved very quickly. After seeing the crowd, I'm not worried about this food truck going out of business. That part that really put me off was nobody in the truck was wearing a mask. That really surprised me. I guess they didn't feel the need, since it's an open air truck, but I wish they were being safer. Even the woman at the register wasn't wearing a mask. If I knew this before we made the drive, I probably would have decided not to make the trip, which is why I'm writing it here. In non COVID times this place is five star worthy, but since I'm taking this pandemic super seriously I'll be skipping coming back until cases die down. read more

Ugh I've been visiting this food truck for several years on Wednesdays at the market. 2 days ago I purchased an 8$ pretzel. They have a classic glazed donut and then a weekly special, but you can't get the special in a half dozen or dozen special. I kept hearing about how good these donuts were and I have to say, it lived up to the hype. Peachey's Baking Co was at Crowder Bros this morning on Manatee Ave in Bradenton. They are a large food truck that frequents events and also makes their rounds in the Bradenton/ Sarasota area. They specialize in authentic Amish baked goods. The donut dough was so pillowy soft and warm. The chocolate ganache iced donut was outstanding. The pretzels were good as well. They only offer glazed, a speciality donut, and pretzels. They are not cheap, but they are very high quality. They post their weekly schedule on their Instagram page and they will be at the Hunsader Farms Pumpkin festival this weekend. I first discovered Peachey's Amish donuts at the Florida Strawberry Festival last year, and instantly fell in love. These can be compared to Hole in One Donuts, only they are the size of your head! The Amish donuts are so soft and pillowy and just melt in your mouth. I will say that the first time I had them, they held up a little better and were the perfect texture. The second time (at the 2018 Strawberry Festival), it fell apart a little. But I imagine the hot, humid Florida weather played a part in that. The flavor was still on point though! These are the best donuts you can get in Sarasota if you love traditional yeast donuts. We found out about them because of a tip-off from a lady in the line at Meaney's Mini Donuts. She said Meaney's is the best May-September, but from October through April, Peachey's has them beat, and I have to agree with her. The donuts are made in a food truck that makes its way around the Sarasota/Bradenton area, but you can be sure to find them every Weds at the farmer's market. Their donuts seem to be a traditional yeast/fried format made fresh in the truck. They don't have many options. We got glazed. The glazed donuts are absolutely scrumptious. The dough is light and slightly bouncy, which gives it a chewy-esque mouthfeel. The glaze is very heavily vanilla flavoured versus the milder glaze you might find elsewhere in the area, which is a bit of a surprise the first time you take a bite. It's a thicker glaze than you'd get at Five-0, and it actually stays on the donuts themselves unlike Meaney's. Overall, it's a top-notch donut, and I would eat them again. Is it as good as Dawn Donuts from TX? No, but it's the best donut in Sarasota, FL for sure, and I highly recommend it. read more
