Monnalisa is a high-end Italian childrenswear designer, and this was a brand-new luxury garment with extensive Swarovski crystal detailing. When I picked up my $377 cleaning order (I gave them 48 garments total), the shirt was returned to me with a substantial amount of the Swarovski crystal embellishment missing. The difference is not subtle. The shirt was visibly and materially damaged while in their care. Fortunately, I photograph my garments the day I bring them in, and I have clear photographs showing exactly how this shirt looked before it was entrusted to the cleaner, as well as photographs and video documenting the condition in which it was returned to me. What I find especially unacceptable is that no one disclosed the damage to me when I picked up my order. I was allowed to pay for and leave with a $377 cleaning order without anyone informing me that my daughter's designer garment had been damaged. I discovered it myself afterward. This is precisely the type of garment for which a customer uses a professional cleaner because they expect it to be handled with the appropriate level of care. If a business accepts a high-end, embellished designer garment for cleaning, I expect either the expertise to properly care for it or the transparency to tell me beforehand that they cannot safely service it. Accidents can happen. Returning a visibly damaged luxury garment without disclosing what happened is a separate issue entirely. I have contacted management directly and requested that they take responsibility and provide an appropriate resolution, including reimbursement for the garment. I will update this review based on how the business chooses to handle the damage and its response.
