I was looking for a studio to drop in while in town and had a great experience here. The staff and other clients were super friendly and welcoming. The workout is killer but accessible to different levels. The manager Yaicha was wonderful. They do require grip socks but you can buy nice quality ones there if you don't have any.

    Best way to start Friday.

Against my better judgement I allowed them to book me with a new therapist because I was locked into contracts (they kept making me sign new ones instead of moving to a weekly or monthly fee which is a giant red flag. They first scheduled me with a new therapist without even notifying me until I saw a text saying "hey are you showing up". I then allowed them to put me with a replacement therapist no-call no-showed a scheduled appointment on March 3rd with zero communication. I immediately requested cancellation and a refund for my six unused sessions. It took 26 days and three escalation emails before anyone responded. The district manager's reply acknowledged the sessions are unused and available but refused to refund them essentially telling me to either use them with a stranger who knows nothing about my body, or lose what I paid for (hundreds of dollars). Three contracts honored in full on my end. When they lost their trainer, they expected me to absorb the consequence. That's not how you treat loyal customers. I would have expected them to do the right thing, disappointed.

When I went to cancel my membership they announced that you have to give 30 days notice for what reason? I'm not sure. I wonder if that's to pay for the cost of my going away party or what. But, after telling me that I could end the membership at any time, even though I was paid through the month, they are requiring that I pay an extra months membership fee for no reason whatsoever. They then emphatically insist that you signed paperwork in a contract where you've committed to that. They tell you otherwise at time of signing so that you'll trust them and then you sign the paper. My bad for having trusted them. I should have known better. Gyms have a long history of creating contracts in bad faith. This gym is no different. Additionally, instead of just putting an extra month fee the books and reporting it to credit bureaus, which would be bad enough, they will not close my gym membership until I pay them that extra month. So to be clear they will keep the membership open so it will continue to accrue month after month after month until I give them their extra 30 days payment for non-use of their facilities and services. Disingenuous sales people, disingenuous, corporate entity, disingenuous managers are inviting people to make agreements with them in while they do it in bad faith.

I…read morethought Lagree was for 25-year-old Instagram stars who drink matcha lattes--definitely not for me. When I first arrived at Peak 45, I was super intimidated--I won't lie, the Megaformer is no joke. But every single teacher was instantly warm, welcoming, and incredibly supportive, even when I needed to be reminded for the 100th time how to do "Scrambled Eggs." I still have work to do in the speed of my transitions and occasionally need the stability pole, my body quickly and visibly changed in ways I had never experienced with any other workout. For decades I have worked out with trainers, lifted weights, and ran 10ks--nothing has ever gotten me as fit as Lagree. I literally feel the strongest I ever have, which is saying something at my age. What I absolutely didn't expect, coming from the often silent world of Pilates, was how incredibly friendly the members are. It feels like a real community where we're all authentically rooting for each other. High-fives and celebration of each other's "shakes" are not uncommon. In my previous Pilates classes, it always felt like being in a middle school library where no one talked to each other. The teachers at Peak 45 are super motivating and create classes that are always fun and simultaneously super challenging. As I said, all the teachers are genuinely friendly, they'll know your name after your first class, celebrate your successes, and encourage you to do more than you thought possible. Peak 45 not only makes you stronger but also creates an incredibly supportive environment. Thank you, Peak 45, for giving me an amazing workout, a wonderful community, and abs! I will hit my 100th class on Friday and I will be there for hundreds more! Thank you Peak 45!!!!!

CHVRCH Cycle is located in a really cute restored home and is a really beautiful space. It's very clean, organized, and brightly lit. Elia was the instructor on the morning I attended a class, and she was wonderful! She shouted me and multiple others out in class multiple times, and made me feel really welcomed. A couple things to note that makes this spin studio very unique compared to other spin studios in town: 1. Everyone receives their own set of headphones when they are in class, and all of the music and choreography plays over the headphones while you're cycling. You can adjust your personal volume, which is really nice because some other fitness studios play really loud music and I've had to use ear plugs. 2. This is a very brightly lit studio space, and there are no lights off to distract you from the workout at all. It's a beautiful space, but sometimes I love to have the darkness, especially during the difficult rides. Just something to note if you tend to enjoy riding in a darkened room. Excited to come back here again! Thanks to the staff for being so welcoming!

My experiences with other gyms, including Planet Fitness and VASA, were straightforward and seamless. Both had clear and convenient processes for enrolling through Fitness Pass. Unfortunately, my experience with the Orem EoS Fitness location was different. When I called to ask how to sign up using Fitness Pass, I was transferred to a membership representative who informed me that I would need to pay an additional $10 per month on top of what I already pay through Fitness Pass. When I asked for clarification, I was told this was essentially because the gym needed to make more than what Fitness Pass provides. This explanation did not seem appropriate or consistent with how the program is intended to work. To verify, I contacted Fitness Pass directly. They confirmed that I should not be charged any additional fee for a basic membership and even offered to join a three-way call with the gym to clarify the situation. However, when I called the gym back just minutes later, I was told that membership staff were suddenly unavailable for at least 30 minutes, despite having just spoken with them. I then contacted another EoS Fitness location in Springville and explained the exact same situation. Their staff immediately clarified that the Fitness Pass fully covers the basic membership and that no additional fee is required. I visited that location in person, received a tour, and completed my enrollment in about 20 minutes, without any extra charges. They also explained that the $10 fee mentioned by the other location applies only to a premium membership and is entirely optional. Due to the conflicting information and lack of transparency from this location, I will be going to the Springville location instead, even though it is farther away. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend confirming all membership details carefully before signing up here.

I know that gyms like this are infamous for predatory practices around cancelations so I specifically asked the sales representative at the time what the process would be like to cancel and if there were any fees. I was explicitly told that cancelation can be done any time online and there is no cancelation fee. The sales representative took it upon himself to recite the basics of the Membership Agreement - likely as a tactic to get me to listen and talk to him rather than reading the agreement for myself. Even though I was explicitly told there was no fee to cancel, what he failed to mention was that cancelations require a 30-day written notice and that within those 30 days I will be charged nearly $100 for an annual fee and first month membership. This is incredibly predatory behavior. I even called the listed phone number, just to reach an answering machine. It instructed me to "press 2" for cancelation requests. When I pressed 2, the answering machine said nothing about cancelations - only about updating my billing method. I tried that and the only options it gave me were to add a new card or new bank account. No option to cancel. I went in-person to request to cancel and was told that nobody on-site would be able to help me cancel and that I had to do it online or over the phone. I called the business several times and was finally able to reach a representative who was just as unhelpful.
