This is unusual because it's never leaked in the past. It only has 42k miles on it. I decided I'd better check the oil level since some had obviously leaked out. The dipstick showed that the oil level was about 1/2" above the "full" mark, AFTER leaking maybe a half pint on the garage floor. Apparently the tech overfilled the crankcase when it was serviced. So, now I guess I get to deal with a leaking rear main seal thanks to the carelessness of Grease Monkey. There's also black grease on the driver's side carpet from their boots. These guys used to be conscientious and reasonably priced. I don't think they're any better than Walmart's Tire and Lube Center nowadays. I'm not going back to Grease Monkey.

Made a reservation online and arrived a few minutes before the scheduled time. Waited for a while in the lobby before another customer finally told me I needed to bring the car around back. Waited around ten minutes in the back until an employee finally came back to address myself and another customer waiting. He didn't seem happy to be there, which was apparent from how much he told me. He also mentioned he didn't know about my reservation because he doesn't use the computer and made me fill out the forms with him. After waiting well past my scheduled service time, he took my key and I awkwardly walked through the shop to the lobby. The service seemed quick enough until another gentleman walked up with my engine air filter and went through the upcharge list. Not a great service experience, but maybe they were having a bad day, drove home and moved on. Here's where I got pissed. I bought an engine air filter and when I went to replace it, I found they had not reconnected the hose after they removed it the filter without my permission. The topping on the cake in now three months later needed to add oil because the level was low. I've been getting oil changes 1-2 times a year for ten years. This is the first time I've ever needed to add oil into my car. Add it's not because of a leak. My previous place would show me the dipstick after service. Now I know why, because places like this exist.

I figured why not, so I got all four tires replaced, and it was a little more expensive than I thought, but I know eventually I'd have to do it. The two options I was given was about $300 difference and I went with the more expensive tires and the total was about $1248. Changing the tires out, took more longer than what I was originally told. I ended up waiting about two hours but glad I got it done. Everyone at the register was as communicative and friendly as could be. I didn't seem to have a problem except for not wanting to wait in their lobby. But that kind of thing is expected when you're waiting for service at any auto shop. And a nutshell as soon as I drove my truck out of the shop, I noticed how much better it drives because the wheels are nice and firm. And I'm glad I was able to get tires that are better for the Colorado winter weather. So if you're in the area and need a tire replaced, I highly recommend a TWAR. Since I was soon leaving on a road trip, I asked them to also check my tires, brakes, alignment, etc. They thoroughly checked everything, basically gave my car a health checkup, and it passed the physical exam with flying colors. I was only charged for the transmission fluid replacement - they topped off my AC coolant for free. They even provided complimentary Lyft service. It's true!!! There really is an auto maintenance and repair shop that is HONEST, that cares about you, and that does great work for a fair price. This is what excellent customer service looks like!!!

I wasn't shown an itemized breakdown of the cost (labor vs parts), but I agreed to the overall price. When the work was done I was given a printed receipt with itemized costs. The labor was $396, and the parts cost for six Motorcraft iridium spark plugs was $345. I challenged the cost of the plugs and was handed off to a manager (Eric). He immediately said "you agreed to the price for the service", at which point I told him I was never provided a breakdown of the costs before agreeing. I explained that the price of the Motorcraft plugs was $22 each on ford.com ($132 total), so how could they be charging $345 for them in good faith? He had no explanation, and continued to say "you agreed to the price". To charge almost triple the cost for a basic part like spark plugs is classic price gouging. Beware if you use this shop that they will likely try the same tactic. This was my first time at Christian Brothers, and will certainly be my last. Black Forest Auto runs a much fairer business, and I cannot recommend them enough. I only used Christian Brothers because Black Forest's schedule was backed up (an indication of their high quality and reputation).

The filters themselves are $9 on Amazon. Well, in the process of popping out my filter, the guy put mine back in backwards. After leaving the shop, my car had a weird loss of RPM issue. I turned off the engine and it went away. I went about a week not knowing my filter was in backwards all while my A/C transister ended up blowing itself out trying to push air through a backwards filter. I returned to the shop when I realized my A/C wasn't functioning anymore and they ended up sending me to a different shop to have it repaired. Grease Monkey covered the $324 fee. Fast forward another couple days, my loss of RPM issue is back, only this time it happened 3x in the same day. I called the shop and they had me bring it in again. They insist they "couldn't find any issues" but they re-did the entire oil change and the issue hasn't come back. It's been a couple of weeks now. I would NOT recommend this shop anymore.
