Then I tackled someone (I do know her, but it was a pretty assertive approach anyway) and made her tell me why her hair and skin always look so excellent. Clay. She goes to Clay and has forever. What will happen when you also become a Clay-ista: you skin will glow, your tensions will melt away, you will have to decide for yourself what you say when people stop you on the street to ask why your hair looks so amazing. I have literally had people open their doors and call out as I walked down the street to ask who does my hair now. If you tell the truth, it's going to be even harder to get an appointment. Mainly because she kept coughing into her hands then immediately went and started touching all over my face. All throughout my appointment. As soon as I walked in and was sat down she began talking about all the horrific things that have happened in her life. And while I feel for her, it was *all* she wanted to talk about even when I tried to change topics to a lighter note. At one point she decided to stop what she was doing in the middle of everything and decided I really needed to meet her grandson, a freshman in high school. The two kept talking over each other and it was just PAINFULLY awkward to be there. The end was the kicker. Over the phone she quoted me $165 for both hair and make up. When I was all finished and desperately trying to run out of there, she told me it was $225. When I stopped her and questioned the price, she said that oh she must have given me a deal, and that the price does NOT include gratuity. That was said a handful of times to drive it home I suppose. I got into my truck, ready to leave and wait the hours until the party (sure convinced me we would need the entire time, which we very much did not), and she summons me back inside because she forgot to take pictures. Finally I get to leave with her calling after me to leave a review and all this and that. Well, here it is.

I just went in for a wash and blowout. Well, I actually wanted a toner as well, but after saying…read moreshe could do it over the phone, she didn't carry toner. All her colors have it already. I have no idea what that means as I always get bleached then washed, then a toner. ‍ Jeanne works out of her home studio and it's a nice enough place. A bit dusty, but comfortable. She used a plug-in blow dry/brush combo which I didn't think did the trick as far as smoothing my hair. Ended up flat on top and frizzy at the ends. I asked for some curls to add waves to it, and she used another tool I had never seen in a professional salon - an automatic hair curler (?). You basically put a piece of hair in it and it does all the work. I was a bit nervous about that because my hair is so fine and fried and wasn't sure how it "automatically knew the correct temperature to use". Also, she said that the curler could do curls in both directions, but my entire head was done in one direction with my left side having forward-facing curls. It was the most unusual blow dry I have ever had, and can't say I would try it again. On a positive note, she has a lot of funny stories about about brides/bridesmaids that were entertaining.
