I've been a client of Pearl MedSpa for a few years now and have finally hit my breaking point. They constantly lie to their clients, raise prices without informing them, and do not follow through with what they say they will do. Here are a few examples: Telling me that they only used 1/2 a syringe of filler and I could save the rest for later use, but then claiming that they used the full syringe. Raising prices on a procedure by over 30% and not telling me until after. (from $450 to $650) Assuring me that they would provide a doctors note for my prescription as I am traveling, and not doing that. and that's just in the past month. I was told that their manager would be calling me to discuss and of course, that has not happened. If you do go here, just know that you are ONLY a walking wallet to them and they don't actually care a single bit about you, your personal needs, or your satisfaction. read more

I went in for threads . 3x here New nurse . She barely used any numbing cream and after 5 minutes came back with over sized surgical gloves. Asked me where I wanted them. "I said look at my chart " I am not the expert . ( she didn't) She started jabbing me. Areas I hadn't done before .Under my eye, my cheek. I started bruising immediately. When I called they brushed it off "you can bruise" This badly? The thread is literally poking out under my right eye, now that it's in full effect it's worse. Started puckering and waiting to heal. Apparently, that's what it takes for a call back. At least I'm getting a refund for unused packages. For the record, everyone should see this picture of my face after their PDO threads. I've never had a facial or anything done to my skin but everyone I have worked with has been amazing! I have gotten so many different treatments and they've been patient and explained everything to me. I always leave happy and with great skin! I did lip fillers as well which I was extremely anxious about and they calmed my nerves and I love how they look. We have a plan for my upcoming wedding and my skin is looking wonderful. Don't go to this place! They won't give you any pricing up front. You have to go in and do a "consultation" fill out all this paperwork only to be taken into a sales type room where they sell you on things before you've even had any services. And on top of that their prices are crazy. I'm putting this here so those looking for laser hair removal. A small area is $99. Each. So lip / chin is &200!!! First experience: Bought a vile of voluma ($900) and Botox ($10 a unit) over the phone on one of their days of beauty online specials. I was planning on using the voluma for a non-surgical nose job. I was told while booking my appointment that it could not be used for that procedure because they didn't do those. I requested a refund which was granted by the office manager. First appointment: I went in for my appointment for Botox and was told I could have used the voluma (That I was just refunded for the day before) in other areas other than the nose which I was unaware of. If I wanted it I would now be charged $1000 for a vile. They had me in office so accepted because of convince. Once I got home I did a little research and found the average price in Portland is 600-800. I felt ripped off. Months later I fell for another online special and bought juvaderm. Second appointment: Saw Theresa for lip injections (which they suggested was the best area to use this on). I was very leery considering I wanted a natural look but was assured she knew what she was doing. My lips came out lumpy and uneven. They now look unnatural and too large. I called and was told to fix the lumpy look I would need additional filler to even it out. No thanks! I wouldn't want to go through all that swelling again and plus they are too big already. They look like crap and it's obvious I had injections, (not the look I was going for). Good thing we are wearing masks at the moment. Overall, two bad experiences. read more

After this last time getting lip filler here I will NEVER go back. I went here to get a small touch up and to make them even and this is what I got. I went in for another appointment after complaining and I would hope they would just make them even for me. They offered to remove some from the left side instead of just making them even. Again, I liked the size just wanted them even. This was horrible customer service. Why would I want to remove the product I paid so much for???? Made no sense to me at all when they could have offered to fix it. It should have been done CORRECTLY in the first place!!They also are blaming it on swelling when this was done over 2 weeks ago and have absolutely no pain remaining. They are not swelled. They have all the newest treatments and you can always get great prices when they have specials. The employees are very kind and knowledgeable. Growing old gracefully is not my thing. God gave us Botox for a reason folks. For about 15 years now I've been fighting the good fight, getting Botox for the crows-feet area and that little area between the brows. People will ask me why I bother getting Botox because I don't have any wrinkles. That is exactly the point; you get the Botox to prevent them from occurring in the first place! When I called Pearl Medspa they wouldn't give me a quote over the phone for how much the Botox was per unit. They did tell me they were running a special that day and that they had a couple openings if I wanted to come in for a consultation and if, after the consult I wanted the Botox they could do it for me that day. I thought that was a bit odd that they wouldn't even tell me the price but since this place is only about 2 blocks from my home I decided there was no harm in walking over for a consult. The facility is lovely and the receptionist was very welcoming and friendly. I filled out a new patient form and was whisked away into a cozy treatment room. The consult was basically me telling the aesthetician that I wanted 15 units at their special price of $10.00 per unit. The aesthetician performed the injections swiftly, painlessly and without any bruising. What's more, after the injection, she touched up my make-up "to get rid of the evidence" she said. I have never had any place do that for me before and I really appreciated that. Checking out and paying was a breeze also. I wasn't able to bring up my Brilliant Distinctions account on my iPhone to get the code for the $20.00 credit so the receptionist logged me in on her desktop which I really appreciated. With the elite membership, I get a different treatment every month. Its a great way to try what you like best and then buy from there. I can add on different smaller treatments for free. They have great products that I now use and love the results. Extra 10% off products for being a member. No pressure to buy and they truly care about you, and your skin. Being new to the area I am looking for a new place. I called to get pricing for Dysport (which they don't do) or Botox. This is standard procedure. People want to know how much fillers cost, Botox etc. It's not some super secretive thing. It's a basic, per unit cost. Period. They said I would have to come in to get pricing. Clearly a ruse because once they've got you in their office your resigned at that point thanks to the hassle of getting there, fighting for parking and the time you spent in the appointment. Not to mention the fact that I spent hundreds of dollars on filler that didn't even go in my lips (a significant amount went above lip). I don't really know anyone who would be okay with that. I recommend Pearl for all your esthetic needs! I have a membership and go monthly, my skin has never felt so fresh and polished. With age comes those fine lines (wrinkles) I trust the staff to always make sure my botox and filler is always done correctly. I have referred so many of my friends, we call it our monthly beauty day. If you are looking for a monthly plan or even a few visits here and there you need to check them out. I had a consultation for clear + brilliant and was pretty bummed with how it went. I had one goal: clear + brilliant, and nothing else. I felt I was given more information about the memberships than the actual treatment I was interested in. I actually had to ask for more information for clear + brilliant because I just wasn't getting it naturally. While I was excited at first, I think the consult turned me away. I also talked with my mom and she made a good point, "deeply consider who you will let do work on your face"... and with that, I decided not to move forward with the treatment. A recommendation... if someone is coming into your office for a consult on a 'specific thing' - maybe focus on explaining that 'specific thing' before jumping to memberships right away. They canceled my appointment not once, not twice but THREE times and then were closed due to the virus. I will NEVER go to this company AGAIN so saying I can get over $1000 in services Is NOT acceptable! Who else did they scam??? Who else did they steal a from? They told me if I posted about it I would NEVER get a refund! Please contact me if they have stolen your money! This is wrong and a class action suit should be filed. I have know Carole for a decade. The staff is always extremely nice, helpful and knowledgeable with all things skin care. They also love to give back to the community - including charities. They constantly run events (toy collection in the winter, water for those in need, etc), in which if you bring in specific items you receive a free facial! Pearl Medspa is the most beautiful spa I have ever been to. The staff is warm and welcoming, I honestly couldn't say enough nice things about this place. I came in for cool sculpting - it was a 5 hour appointment and I was very nervous I was going to be uncomfortable or bored.. and I'm glad to say I was completely wrong! They made me feel extremely comfortable. Tammy set me up in this nice room with blankets, pillows and a TV with Netflix and other ways to watch my favorite shows. Really disappointed. Paid the most expensive price I have ever paid for botox at 15 dollars per unit. Had 44 units although quite harsh sales tactics were used to try and push me into buying 60 units. I thought I would go ahead regardless as the place looks the part. After 44 units I still have full movement and evident wrinkles still. Usually I only have around 20-30 and it lasts for ages and no movement, no wrinkles. I'm 36 and healthy so not too far along the aging process just yet so don't need much usually. However a month later its like I never even had any and it cost me dearly. Until my last appt. I would have given a 4.5-5 star rating but that changed when one of the key employees left. I had been going here for 5+ years and during this time Lillia (sp?) had expertly given injections and used fillers without incident. Upon making my last appt. I was told Lillia had left but I was in luck because the clinic doctor was available and he would be able to easily do this in place of Lillia. I made the appt for the exact same procedures that I had done at all of my previous appt's. At the conclusion of my appt the doctor told me I may have a very small bruise under my right eye (which had never happened before). The next morning I woke up with 2 black eyes that took almost a week to recover. I also have a small lump under each eye that still has not dissipated after 7 months. The products are the same at any reputable clinic, what differentiates them is the skill level of their staff. In this case they lost someone very skilled and used poor substitute at the expense of my face. Next week I have an appt with another clinic to see what can be done to fix the lumps under my eyes and realized I should write a review to give other people a warning. *update 7/20: I don't know where to begin. The Director of Spa just called me to ask why I didn't call him back on Nov 21 to discuss fixing the issue (note that I spoke with someone else in Nov prior to his call and she was incredibly unpleasant). The tone of voice when I answered the phone today was agitated and got progressively worse as the call went on. I told him that by the time he called me in Nov I had decided I would not be letting them do anything more to my face after they caused the issue and the person I trusted to fix it was gone. I did not think it was reasonable to take another chance and find myself in an even worse position. This should have been the end of the call but he wanted to push that I was in the wrong by not letting them further inject things into my face. I told him I had just paid someone else to fix the problem because I felt strongly enough that they could not be trusted. The call dragged on with strange comments like I had "no right to talk about Lillia" in my review and randomly telling me how long they had been in business and how much longer they would remain. I asked repeatedly what he wanted out of the call and he kept saying I should have called him back in Nov. but didn't answer my question. The most bizarre turn was when he threatened me with suing for slander and I pointed out I have an attorney too. His response was that if I can't afford Pearl Med Spa, I can't afford an attorney (the third sentence in my original review does mention how long I'd been going there). Later he started speaking about all of the threats they get of legal action and it never happens so bring it on. I pointed out that he was the one threatening legal action, not me. It became quickly apparent he was trying to bully me into removing the review. I told him point blank that if he wants my review removed he can give me a refund otherwise I'm not removing it. I thought that would be the end of it and he'd go away. I had no intention of asking for a refund and I had never made a demand until getting this lunatic call on a Friday afternoon. The review I wrote was an accurate reflection of my experience. The refund comment seemed to be the magic button because he lost it talking about how Yelpers do this to them all the time. Maybe that is a real thing or maybe other people get fed up with an uninvited call from a bully and also decide to stand their ground. I know I am standing mine. read more

Came here on my birthday in August. Had an appointment for lip injections- it was my first time ever trying it out. Ashley was the med assistant that did my treatment, she was very sweet precise and asked me what my goal was for how I wanted my lips to look. After the injections they were swollen for a few days like she had mentioned would happen, no severe bruising and no pain. They also were offering a great discount at the time I came in for my appointment. I believe they gave me a 20% discount. I came to Pearl with no idea on what needed to be done for laser hair removal and for a facial. What I came away with was amazement on how knowledgeable and friendly the staff were - and how they never pushed trying to get me to do any procedures or purchase I wasn't comfortable with. They took the time to teach me what each procedure would do for me and how it would target what I wanted specifically. I am SO happy with my laser hair removal! I went to Pearl Medspa for a procedure on a bothersome Keloid on my chest. My initial consultation was amazing. The staff was so friendly & doctors were VERY knowledgeable. They were able to explain what their plan for my procedure & why doctors have failed in the past to remove it. I was very confident in what they had to offer. I followed through with the procedure & it was done very professionally, efficiently, and not painful at all! They were able to provide aftercare & recommendations for the future. I recently received a PRP microneedling treatment, as well as Kybella, from Kelsey here at pearl med. I'm almost 2 weeks out, and my daily results are amazing me! I went to see Kelsey because I wanted to soften a 3 year old tracheotomy scar and lasting effects. She recommended PRP treatments because it helps heal scaring and tissues from the dermis level, essentially healing yourself with your own plasma. I am so excited I chose this route instead of reconstruction surgery. Ive seen a difference everyday, in color, texture, and softness. My experience at Pearl Medspa was nothing short of a vip treatment. I did not want a cold clinical feel, but I wanted the professionalism the medical side brings. Peal Medspa has accomplished both the professional side, as well as the comfort of a spa. I lounged in a massage chair sipping on sparkling water while my numbing cream was taking effect, Netflix's, chocolates, a cozy blanket, the list could go on. Microneedling does not feel good, but it doesn't hurt. The numbing cream worked well!! Less pain than a tattoo. Kybella, does hurt, stinging a bit, and swells for a few days. They did such a great job at helping me breathe and getting it done fast! Truly not as bad as I thought it would be. Nothing compared to recovering from surgery!! So I've been a happy camper. Unfortunately, this review is not based off any services I received at this spa because my initial impression of this place is not good and I will not be going here. I have been researching locations that offer silk peel facials, Pearl Medspa being one of many in the area. Only difference is, all the other spa's have prices online or tell customers prices over the phone. Pearl Medspa on the other hand does not tell you their prices until you come in for a consultation. Following the consultation, you can get the service you want if necessary. Sorry, but not my style and frankly a waste of my time. This seems so manipulative and a total sales pitch trap to me. I am not going to drive out 20+ minutes to a 15 minute consultation appointment just to see how much it will cost me when there are multiple other locations that will tell me what I am getting into beforehand. Reading other reviews, seems as if other people have the same issue so I'll be taking my regular business elsewhere. read more

Firstly, the décor and rooms are very outdated and it's clear that there is a lack of training amongst the staff. I have had my bruises from filler zapped, and gone in many times to get my lips or cheeks evened out again-and while they do fix their mistakes...it's on your dime. Personally I go in for the same treatment only weeks later and have a different experience if it's a different provider. Never know what you are going to get. Secondly, the poor girls seem pushed to make sales for the company. During a treatment they will try to sell you on another package, product, etc... when I declined the women told me they are having a competition to see who can sell the most and she will get a bonus if she wins or free treatments. Not sure if she was trying to guilt me in to buying or thought that was okay to discuss/share with me, but I am the patient- very unprofessional! Lastly, be prepared to keep track of what you have "banked." Banking something is when you pre-buy a package or treatments and they sit in your "banked" items to use whenever you'd like. I had treatments fall off my banked treatments more than one time and had to ask the front staff to look back- when they did- in fact they did get "dropped off by mistake." Sadly, I feel the reputation of the Pearl Medspa is quickly deteriorating. I used to hear great things about this spa but unfortunately now I get more warnings about the place. I didn't listen and wanted to remain loyal but I can't continue to go here. I wish them well on their expansion but I hope they take these comments and make the adjustments and training, to get people talking positively again.
